      It's a great place to be in. It would help you tremendously if you'd learn a couple of important polish words, the locals would appreciate it and will treat you very differently from all the other expats who can't even say 3 words or more besides czesc or dziekuje.

    The power of stereotypes ruling many foreign-born youtubers' videos on Poland, is incredible. The other rule that's hard to understand is generalising - all (or almost all) Poles this or that. Poles are nationalistic, fiercely religious, all Catholic, traditional, family-focused, proud of their history, homogeneity, etc, etc, all of them like that regardless of background, education, regional roots, family legacy. Nearly 40 million people like a well-disciplined army. People, don't ask me why so many foreigners describe my nation as a monolith on all accounts (which it's not). I just don't know.

    • @wilczydukt
      @wilczydukt 18 дней назад +3

      Foreigners see it more clearly in our country because in their country this conservatism and adherence to traditional values have completely disappeared. And in Poland it is still alive in society. When I was in Sweden, many positive things also caught my eye more. Things that would probably be ordinary or even imperceptible to a native Swede.

    • @rippedkodiak
      @rippedkodiak  18 дней назад +2

      Polish people can't see past it, but if you're someone who's travelled the world and lived in different countries you can see that these stereotypes about Poland are true.

    In Poland we don't like being called Eastern Europe. It's a false description because we are actually located exactly in the middle of Europe. That's why Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary call themselves Central Europe. Greetings from Toruń where we have a lot of medieval history connected with the Teutonic Knights.

    • @rippedkodiak
      @rippedkodiak  19 дней назад +6

      Okay, that actually makes sense if you think about it. I just used that term to make things a little bit easier for foreign viewers, since a lot of people from places like the states or Canada think that countries like Poland, Czechia, Slovakia etc. are still inside the Soviet Union and are underdeveloped economically. However, countries like Poland and the Czech Republic have developed so much over the past 5-10 years and they're not far off from western standards of living. Btw my Dad's family side comes from Torun, and it is a lovely place. That's what true Poland actually looks like. Thanks for watching polski bracie i milego wieczoru.

      I think we also don’t like to be associated with socialism, communism and anything that has to do with Russia. And that’s the first thing that comes to peoples mind when they hear “Eastern Europe”.

    • @wilczydukt
      @wilczydukt 18 дней назад +4

      @@rippedkodiak - The term Poland as Eastern Europe comes from the Cold War division of the world into East and West (NATO and the Warsaw Pact). But that was over 30 years ago. Currently, Poland is a key NATO country and is developing the fastest in Europe. So let's abandon these outdated terms.

    Co do ról kobiet i mężczyzn w związkach się absolutnie nie zgadzam. Nie chodzi mi tylko o to że ja jestem kobietą z młodszego pokolenia więc nie zaakceptowałabym już takigo podziału, że ja głównie zajmuję się domem i gotowaniem, a on głównie karierą i pieniędzmi. Ale obserwując moją rodzinę, znajomych ze starszych pokoleń, to raczej nasze matki i babki podejmują codzienne jak i kluczowe decyzje w rodzinach. Nie rozumiem czemu obcokrajowcy są tak przywiązani do tego stereotypu i widzą tylko to chcą zobaczyć.

      Trump is a psychopath and a stupid one at that, brewed only in his ego. He will do anything for his own good. Trump wants to give Ukraine back to Russia, and I, as a Polish woman who knows what we Poles have been through with the Russians and how precious our own land is, consider views like yours and supporting someone who would sell his own motherland without blinking an eye to be something primitive and wicked. It is appalling that people with such limited views are in this world. If you live in Canada, you have no right whatsoever to speak about the USA and Central Europe, which is now suffering from Russia's invasion on Ukraine.

  • @Polans-gd
    @Polans-gd 14 дней назад +4

    The first and fundamental mistake you made was to call Poland Eastern Europe. Poland is CENTRAL EUROPE in every aspect - geographically and culturally.
    In Poland, the family is about equal sharing of responsibilities, not any male domination. Man and woman are equal and complement each other. There is no way a guy these days can just sit at home in front of the TV or computer and do nothing. If you have such an idea then you have the wrong idea, boy, about Polish women and the relationships that are now being formed.
    If you want a relationship where the guy dominates, go to ruSSia, but be careful, because ruSSian women expect a lot of money and everything expensive and the best - ruSSian women are great materialists.

    A few more thoughts on the subject of what to say about Polish women or girls. The topic is a bit more complicated. In Poland we have a group of conservative, very well-organized girls who will even wait for you with their virginity until marriage and will be very solid partners for your whole life, but they will also expect you to be a chivalrous and generally well-organized guy. If you are an emotionally unstable, immature big boy - they will not accept it. These are mostly girls associated with the church, attending various secular groups run by the church, e.g. by the Jesuits, Dominicans, etc. However, completely next to it is a parallel world of women who f*ck around, go to clubs and get drunk. They ridicule the conservative lifestyle as naive, fairy-tale, unmodern. And generally both of these worlds do not interact with each other in any way. They are two separate planets. There are also many girls lost between these two worlds (and maybe this is currently the largest group). It's worth knowing these things if you are looking for a woman in Poland.

    • @rippedkodiak

      Hey man, thanks for the wonderful insights. Yep, that is most likely true. Unfortunately this happens to most countries around the world now unfortunately. Most teenagers nowadays have nothing going on for them, it is not looking promising for their generation. I haven't met that many bad polish women though, they do exist most likely, it probably depends on who you are as a man. If you're masculine and you got your life in order then that's who you're going to attract. And on the other side, if you live a completely degenerate addict type of lifestyle then you're going to attract girls who are into that. That's what happens from my experience. Pozdrawiam.

      Yep, thanks for mentioning that. I've already mentioned it on one of my previous videos about Poland, so it would be a little tad mundane to talk about the same thing here. So yes, Poland is a very, very safe place in comparison to most european countries. At the same time (Dominik Tarczynski said this), Poland is the only place in Europe that hasn't had a terrorist attack in the last 40-50 years so that's an insane statistic if you think about. Heck, even our neighors Czechia had one last year back in December, and it is also considered a very safe country.

    Since 1988 I live in USA , spending 8 years in NY which I hade it , now in Ohio much more beautiful and better, and I’m going to base my opinion about your move to USA on few videos of Americans who move to Poland and they explain why they prefer Poland vs USA ,
    Lately after living here for so many years I also think about returning to Poland
    What I don’t really like about USA is how large amounts of people brains got destroyed by stupid politicians and fact that so many people here don’t know history of their own country which leads later to voting wrong way , voting against “democracy” and thinking that “democracy” is in danger at same time
    Not knowing that USA was not established as a democracy but republic, People who stared USA saw that democracy is not really good system based on how it performed in Europe especially Greece 🇬🇷 country where democracy was born and where corrupting flourish 😂 until this days .
    Currently with trump winning election, large amount of democrats believes that he’s going to make abortion totally illegal , even if woman life is in danger
    This is a perfect example of why so many religious cults and sects come out of USA because so many people lost touch with reality and politicians learn big time from cult leaders that fear is the best way to control their beliers ,
    To all my Polish liberal brothers and sisters, please don’t let nobody plant in your brain this stupid emigration propaganda because this days democrats using this as a tool to bring more voters to every country, to destroy patriotism wile Poland still have natural enemies like Russia or Germany , imagine situation where my retired father in law who work here and payed taxes can’t afford all meds he needs and so many of them he have to 100% out of his packet and at same time illegal emigrants having free healthcare
    Don’t know if democrats passed low that would allowed emigrants to have also sex change operations payed by USA tax payers, as well mostly mail prisoners same surgeries on tax payers expense, same in military.
    One more thing at the end , I still can’t believe and don’t understand why democrats pick really Harris for their candidate??? She’s totally clueless and stupid , I don’t get it why they didn’t pick someone so sharp like Shapiro or Gavin Newsom , one of this men could really jeopardize Trump winning but not idiot Harris who made her career in law system by having sexual affair with someone in low system.
    As you all know (i hope) last 3 years in USA is total economy failure with tremendous inflation, of course all of this disaster made by current Biden Harris administration
    During election question was asked to Harris WOULD WOULD YOU DO DIFFERENT THEN BIDEN DID IN THIS PAST 4 YEARS???
    She answered NOTHING 😂😂😂😂 IN FACT I WAS PART OF SAME DECISION
    so stupid that incriminating herself and admitting that she was part of screwing up American economy, and at same time she’s saying that SHE WILL FIX IT
    With zero plan given

      Hey Mateusz, thank you for the deep insights here. I agree with you 100%. I 100% believe that the US going to get back on track with Trump on board, he is going to make America great again. This whole thing about how politics work and how the media and the news is able to manipulate the minds of the masses is beyond belief. Mark my words, the US is going to become an even more powerful nation than what it already is, it has already surpassed all countries in europe. The only country that comes close to the amount of resources, military and brain power is probably China, but that's it. Milo slyszec polskiego brata ze Stanow! 🇵🇱🇺🇸

      Well, you probably don't feel sorry for emigrants who died from pushbacks in Białowieża forest. Some men have trouble with empathy and that makes them horrible people and partners😢.

      Hey Mateusz, yes I 100% believe that. It is so evident in western countries, wouldn't you agree that the same thing is happening in the states? Statistically, when women are in charge of the family unit the divorce rate skyrockets to 70-80%. It's crazy how accurate that is.

      @@agnieszkakowalska7564 in fact I do feel sorry for them. I feel sorry for every and just that or even just that just by human standards but this current immigration it’s a gambling game knowing the rate of the crime in Sweden, Germany, France, England, especially crime against women, please google apps statistics per country, those country that I just mention violence against women in Sweden in Germany in England, etc. you’re gonna be shocked do you feel sorry for them? Of course you do because it’s not fun being rape woman is going through trauma for years sometimes never gonna get out of it so how about, we accept immigrants, but we have to document them. We have to control them before we trust them since they coming from such different cultures than we are especially Islam where woman it’s not equal with men.

      You know, I feel like a lot of polish people (especially the ones who've never moved out or travelled a lot) they don't really appreciate in the traditional values that Poland has to offer. Poland is very safe, and most western countries are not even close to the standards of safety that we have in Poland.

      @@rippedkodiak Historycznie Gdańsk należał do Polski dużo dłużej niż do Niemiec. Dodatkowo było to królewskie miasto (Koeningstadt Danzig) z nadania polskiego króla. Etymologicznie Gda/y- to mokradła w protosłowiańskim co pokrywa się z tym na jakich terenach Gdańsk został założony. Niemcy (Zakon Krzyżacki/Prusy) już od średniowiecza łupili Gdańsk i mordowali rdzenną słowiańską ludność cywilną jak w 1308r. - swoich niemieckich miast by tak nie grabili.
      Jako miasto Hanzy i jeden z większych portów oczywiście został zasiedlony przez Niemców i Holendrów, którzy robili tu interesy. Określanie przez to Gdańska jako miasta Niemieckiego jest jak uznawanie Krymu jako historycznie Rosyjskiego po tym jak Rosjanie dokonali wysiedleń i ludobójstwa na tatarach krymskich w XIX wieku i zasiedlili Krym Rosjanami.

      Yes, russia is a country that invades other countries and murders children, women and men there.
      Yes, russia = lies, manipulation, aggression, hatred.
      Yes, russia is a country where the truth dies first.
      The book "Letters from Russia. Russia in 1839.” Author Astolphe de Custine describes ruSSian despotism, for example: 'This society of automats/robots is like half a game of chess, because one man moves all the pieces, and the invisible opponent is humanity. Everyone here moves and breathes only with the emperor's permission or at his command, so everyone is gloomy and restrained: silence presides over life and paralyzes it."
      Almost 200 years have passed, and ruSSia and ruSSians are still the same. Nothing has changed.
      “Russians are a people who hate freedom, love slavery, love shackles on their hands and feet, dirty physically and morally. Ready to crush everyone and everything at any time.” Ivan Shmelyov - Russian writer.
      “If I fall asleep and wake up in a hundred years, and someone asks me what's going on in Russia now, I'll answer: they drink and steal.” Mikhail Saltykov-Shchedrin - Russian writer.

      Да, Россия - это страна, которая вторгается в другие страны и убивает там детей, женщин и мужчин.
      Да, Россия = ложь, манипуляции, агрессия, ненависть.
      Да, Россия - это страна, где правда умирает первой.
      Книга «Письма из России. Россия в 1839 году». Автор Астольф де Кюстин так описывает русскую деспотию: «Это общество автоматов/роботов похоже наполовину на шахматную партию, потому что один человек передвигает все фигуры, а невидимый противник - человечество. Все здесь двигаются и дышат только с разрешения императора или по его приказу, поэтому все мрачны и сдержанны: тишина царит над жизнью и парализует ее».
      Прошло почти 200 лет, а Руссия и русисты все те же. Ничего не изменилось.
      «Русские - это народ, который ненавидит свободу, любит рабство, любит кандалы на руках и ногах, грязный физически и морально. Готовый в любой момент раздавить всех и вся». Иван Шмелёв - русский писатель.
      «Если я засну и проснусь через сто лет, и кто-нибудь спросит меня, что сейчас происходит в России, я отвечу: пьют и воруют». Михаил Евграфович Салтыков-Щедрин - русский писатель.
