- The trailer for the upcoming series, The Acolyte has nearly 100,000 dislikes in just a few short days and that number continues to grow. Will the negative press effect this show, or will the abundantly clear lack of quality be enough to put the nail in the coffin for the High Republic Error?

They're diverse IN NAME ONLY. None of them have diversity IN THOUGHT- where are the non-white CONSERVATIVES, or the men AND women who want to raise families with their beloved, like we see in the real world all the time?
You don't know if they have no character yet, other from the line that basically says the jedi are evil the trailer looks pretty good. And that line could actually be good if it turns out that that line is just from the perspective of a specific person or group that thinks the jedi are bad because they hold all the power. Hell, it might actually be the acolyte that thinks that.

Did anyone else just leave the theater after Phantom Menace was over, i didn't wanna stay for the trailer.
First one out and I was followed by just about everyone. Went for nostalgia, not for Weinsteins assistants wet dream.

Our TPM screening had a bunch of old Star Wars television commercials from the 80s, 90s, and 2000s right before the film began. No Disney trash in sight. We even got the FOX fanfare - It was glorious!

All Star Wars is now is a vehicle for other people's ambitions. None of this really matters anymore. Well said. I’ve been reading mostly the EU books and comics over the last 7 years and I’m enjoying them. Those TRULY trigger your imagination of the era of the Old Republic as you read through them and are more fascinating than what Disney has made so far since buying Star Wars- I mean “The High Republic”?… like, wtf??? Is that suppose to be a joke of an era when everyone was high on deathsticks or something? What a joke, Disney… 😅
@@JCWinters-bu8de the EU has been, and always will be, canon for me. I read through the majority of it long before Disney thought they could shit can it, and I will probably read it again. Infinitely better stories and characters. The Mandalorians used to be impressive, until Dave Filoni tripped on his own dick trying to co-opt their EU narratives. At least we know that so long as we got the books, the EU will always live.

The one thing I'm semi-happy about is that disney has NOT touched the EU all that much...and I truly hope they never do. Saw Star Wars: Tales of the Empire last night. All 6 episodes of season 1. Three were about the decline of Morgan Elspeth and three about the redemption of Jedi Knight Barriss Offee. Only episode 6 was any good and worth watching. Even Tales of the Jedi was better than that!

I actually liked Ashoka (and I'm NOT the target audience, being an old white guy who did love him some Mandalorian) but the trailer for this thing made me vomit a bit in my mouth. So, no, I'll skip for sure (but, again, not the sort of folks they are aiming for anyway).
I'd say just stick to the old republic but they would probably make them all black women.
Like Andor before it, Acolyte succeeds in destroying the look and aesthetics that George Lucas created and implemented in his saga. Also, add to the fact it looks cheap and unfinished and it wants to force diversity without actually giving the characters trials and tribulations which would lead to actual diversity. On a final note, my analogy of Disney-Wars is that it's like if you were to tear down the original foundation and attempt to rebuild it without the blueprints.
I used love star wars but then I got bored with franchises now I heard of new star wars game Coast $100 not gonna buy that game I think it look terrible miss old the time when star wars was actually timeless classic Mando was okay I didn't like season 2 😢
