24 hours in LILLE with my husband- top 10 things to do in Lille (France’s hidden gem)

This summer, my husband and I took a quick getaway by Eurostar from London to Lille, a hidden gem of a city in northern France. Just an hour and a half by train, Lille welcomed us with its charm and character, making for an unforgettable adventure. We loved staying at Mama Shelter, which added a playful and modern twist to our experience. Wandering through the cobbled streets, exploring the vibrant squares, and soaking in the rich culture made every moment special. We ate and drank at the grand scene and had an in room french picnic including the local Mariolle cheese from Carrefour.
Whether you're exploring its historic streets, enjoying or relaxing in its many welcoming venues LILLE is a place where everyone can be themselves. We felt very welcome and consider LILLE a place for everyone and very much a LGBTQ+ friendly destination.
