Is this snow condition permanent, like can one plan to go there and do skating?
Hansen Peter Sadly, it’s not permanent. Usually there are only a few weeks a year with conditions like these. The snow condition that allows crust skiing depends on a freeze-thaw cycle to allow the surface of the snow to freeze hard. In Alaska that typically happens in April and May when there is a stretch of sunny weather.
Eric Packer it is the coolest video I ever watched. My son 6yo started skating class this winter, he stays with the mother but Ill show him the video next time I see him.
