- I knew Casey Kasem and his wife, Jean, long before my 1991 interview with him in Beverly Hills for our coffee shop chat series. I was always impressed with Casey's eagerness to interact with the public and the kindness he showed his fans. He was smart, he was passionate and, in his later years, he used his voice as an activist who spoke out on world peace and politics. But he always remained the voice of American music and long ago earned himself a place as a much-loved icon of American pop culture.
I was sad to hear of his medical challenges over these last few years and am, like so many others around the globe, saddened by the news of his death on 6/15/14. I will forever remember my interactions with him and Jean -- and the memories of many fabulous events and parties at their Holmby Hills, California home that I was lucky enough to get to attend. Legendary voice. Wonderful human being
he has left behind a great legacy… his voice was part of my childhood, just like Optimus Prime
R.i.P. Casey Kasem. His Legacy is lives on!
Still miss Casey to this day.
Brad,I enjoyed your interview with this broadcast legend.
Casey was a good person. It is a tragedy how he had to suffer at the end of his life.
The older you get, doesn't it seem how much faster time goes by?
Loved listening to his weekly countdown, and I do his character Shaggy. Never could get his actual voice as of yet. Nice that Casey mentions God...
Liberty and Justice. nice.
Rest In Peace Casey. I know he was a Lebenese Arab Christian but I would like to offer him Al Fatihah.
Azam Shahuddin offer him who?
just give me the answers so fast!
Great interview Brad! You were one of the first people that I got to know after graduating Emerson and moving back to LA. Your wonderful interview with Casey touched upon some serious subjects, and Casey revealed his wisdom and humanity. Many of of listening to him over the decades somehow knew that Casey was a very kind person , a man of peace - that warmth always came through on the car speakers. I did an interview with Casey too about 10 years prior to yours... at BHHS , that served also as a window into the mind of this genius at the top of his field. ruclips.net/video/xLYlBVMRpvM/видео.html&feature=em-comments
So happy to hear from you, Brett, and thrilled to watch your interview with Casey. Great content and nice work! All best ...
The woman who called in first was probably white who never understood how, no matter how "American" you feel, that doesn't necessarily change the way others regard you. Thus the need for Casey and others to speak out about how ethnic groups are stereotyped so we're not affected by that misinformation.
This is surreal to watch in the Trump era. The problems are still the same except they've gotten way WAY worse. Depressing.
Ruh Roh! It’s a Ribtard Raggy!
@@Super_Boa Do you think Biden's gonna stop these problems?
Nobody is going to fix anything for anyone. It's up to us to make a difference.
Noah Wyle hasn't aged a bit!
Always presumed shaggy was somewhat communist, but now I see I was hunting ghosts with Khrushchev .
