- It has been 1 month since Hurricane Ian hit Southwest Florida. Drive down Bonita Beach Road before walking over to the beach thru Beach Access #1 next to Doc's Beach House. We will walk along the beach side of Hickory Blvd. Before heading back to Doc's and Bonita Beach Park's pavilion.
There is a long way to go in the recovery efforts of Bonita Beach. The sand is full of debris and the beach isn't a good place to visit right now. I wore close toed shoes and didn't go in the water as precautionary measures.

I haven't heard anything about air quality. I think water quality (ocean) has been a big issue with the bacteria and debris.
Do you know if taco mix was destroyed? My husband and I come to bonita every year and we just love the owner of the restaurant and we've been so worried it was destroyed and I can't seem to find any info on it.

To my knowledge you aren’t supposed to be on the beach. Let them do their cleanup!
Hi Susan, this was last week. They were not doing any cleanup at this time. I also didn't go in the water and I wore close toe shoes.
It will take a year for that mess to be all cleaned up . Go figure !
