  • Happy New Year's Eve! To end off 2016, here is one of the fastest, most smoothly operated Bridgeport Ranger's that I've had the pleasure of filming! As you can see, this one is fairly new, and is mounted to a Peterbilt 320 cab and chassis, very likely one of the last 320 cabs built without the rear corner windows. This truck seems to be very well cared for and still runs very swift and smoothly, almost like brand new still! Combined with this very skilled driver's precise yet fluid operating style, this is perhaps the most fun to watch modern automated side loader I've seen in quite some time! This sharp unit is seen here collecting a mix of 48- and 96-gallon carts on a residential garbage route! I hope you all enjoy the footage and have a wonderful New Year! Stay tuned, I've got lot's more to come in 2017!
I would like to also take a second to extend a huge thank you to the driver of this truck for allowing me to shoot some video!

This truck is out of their Granger yard and the only automate truck they have down there. Its funny, Yakima is the only WCI yard to run dedicated Bridgeport for Automated. Their maintenance supervisor Jesse loves the Bridgeports

do they have any others besides this one Ranger? and how many dempsters are they using? google maps made it look like there still are quite a few in the fleet..which sure is cool

This is the sole ASL out of the Granger yard, rest of that fleet is mostly New Way RL's, and a couple of older Bridgeport front loaders. The main yard in Yakima has several Rangers. When Alan and I drove by the yard in September, there were three Dempster's left, and it looked like only two were still in regular service. There were a lot of New Way RL's, and it looks like they're buying Leach now. I'm guessing the Dempster's will be gone within the next year or so.

Thrash 'N' Trash Productions well Leach is cool, guessing 20yd on Peterbilt 348s?

If memory serves me correctly, they had a couple of Leaches that were probably 2-3 years old on 348's. The newest one though was on a Freightliner M2 and was done up in the traditional Waste Connections colors and logos. Seems like there was an oddball New Way as well, on an FL70 or something of that nature. And yes, all of the rear loaders seem to be in the 16-22 yard range.
