Thanks Rob. I’ve been wrestling with the rear clip installation do to pulling on the front of the weather stripping instead of the inside. Thank you so much for the visual!!👍
I just installed them on my 2007 Tacoma. Back ones had the adhesive not clips. No adhesive on the front ones. Must depend on year of truck. Easy install. Looks great. You can hardly see the weather tech label. Not a big deal to me or the hassle to remove the label.
After watching your video, I'm pretty sure now I'm going with the in-channel option to try. I too was weary about the adhesive. Changing it out on my CRV was a pain. Left quite a bit of the adhesive on the door trim to scrape off. Plus I have a 2 week old Tacoma and don't want that to happen to it too. So..... thanks!
I was always worried about the push in type, my 08 had wind noise issues I couldn't solve or dealer, so now on my 2020 TRD OR prem. I used 3M stick on outside type and have no issues with wind noise or effecting window seals.Just my option, if they work for you great!
The only negative I’ve heard about these are from some users who indicate they’ve had problem with rear ones coming off with the windows down while traveling at highway speeds. That part really doesn’t concern me. There are maybe a handful of times in a given year that I have the rear windows down while I’m driving anyway. These look like a solid product and look very sharp on the Tacoma.
I’ve had mine for a year and have had no issues, I am a little hesitant to go through a automatic car wash with the brushes I’ve been through the touch less with no problems.
@@RobMotive I have a monthly membership at a carwash and was hesitant too. I go everyday to get my Taco washed with weather tech deflectors and so far so good! Curious to know about the tints being possibly damaged? Hopefully nothing will come of that!
Ordered a set for my 23 TRD Sport. Should arrive tomorrow (Thursday). Hope to get them installed soon. Cold here in Vermont but have a non-heated garage.
@@yangtroy1 I have not experienced that or have not noticed The rear deflectors have clips that hold them in place and the rear windows are opened and closed pretty frequently because I have two large dogs that ride in the back seat area. And one of them loves the windows open.
I was trying to order from WeatherTech that rain deflector but unsuccessful. I have no idea why my card doesn't match with my billing address in New York.
I'll be curious to see how they work out for you? I have the AVS and I like them. To be honest I had to replace the front passenger one and replace the hood bug deflector because they both were defective. Amazon replaced both with no issues.
Aloha and good morning Rob 🙏 🌄 ✨. Great installation from Weather Tech as this keeps the rain 🌧 out and provides fresh air for the Tacoma. Nice product 👌 👍 👏 😀 😉 😎 Rob.
Did you end up sticking with these weathertech"s? Or go back to AVS? The area in the front that comes all the way down to the bottom of the window, did that get in the way of your view at all for seeing the mirrors or just seeing through that small space on the driver side between the pillar and mirror or bothersome at all? I just got a brand new 22 Taco Pro and can't decide between the AVS or Weathertech. I like the sleeker, more low-profile design of the weathertech but not a fan of the plastic that comes all the way to the bottom of the frame.
@@RobMotive Thank you. The plastic that rests on the bottom door frame in the front, is that causing any rub marks or damage to the rubber down there from constantly being on it and from the wind pushing on it?
AVS only way to go....they will loosen up in the window tracks and rattle happened on my Ram. Don't even think about taken them out and reinstalling them. Additionally the routered tab that fits in the widow track is so thin it can crack and break off and fall into your window mechanism. Happened to me on a Ford 150. Guess what you have to do then? I put the AVS on my new 22 Tacoma outside the window foam trim on the door frame....just fine. Had this system on my 2004 truck and lasted 10 years before replacing the adhesive. Yea long winded response.
I've bought the Climart brand for my crewmax tundra but the same application. After a while, with the constant contact with the window when you roll it up it scratched the the top section of my window. Did you experience the same problem on your tacoma after a while?
They were the first things to go on mine. The halfway down is to help guide the front of the deflector into the slot. This was the third set I'd installed -- I had them on previous vehicles -- so they went on with ease. My only gripe was that I had to have them send out a replacement set. They could do a better job of packing, IMO, because the first set arrived shattered.
I used a hand held steamer to remove the window tint off of my Jeep so that it would pass RI inspection. I’m sure it would work well to remove any other stickers and adhesive.
I've had 2 left rear visors fall out and got scratched real bad. I just ordered a 3rd rear set... last time. They need to rescan or what ever they do for the 2022 tacomas because they won't stay in with window down. Clips don't do shit to help.
I have the same deflectors. The front ones are still great after 2 years. One of the rear ones fell off when I was going down the highway. It seemed to me that it vibrated off the clip. I replaced the rear ones with avs.
I bought my Tacoma used and it had these on it already I took them off because I thought the back ones were going to fly off with the windows down. Now seeing this video, I think the stupid clips were missing and I didn't know they should be there. lol
These were the easiest I’ve ever installed. I didn’t get the tool with mine and I bought direct. I’ve used AVS in the past. I like their drip edge better to be honest.
I'm going to have disagree Rob. I've had these and lost one of them. It just came right out of the channel. Also, they do sort of "rubbing" issues on the window in the long run. I came across Well Visors. They're wider than most, wasn't sure if I was going to like them, but I really do. You can open the window wider and it keeps out all the rain. They secure on the outside with 3M tape but also clips, doesn't mess with the paint on your door. Even though I know you got the WeatherTech, just have them a look see. 😉
Looks nice and fairly easy to install. Always wondered how people liked them. Seems like a good solution for the rainy days and cracking the window. Do they make a lot of noise?
hi rob , I am back ,. hey I got to drive the new tundra limited , I wanted to tell you not impressive at all rob , I cant wait to drive the pro next year
Hello Rob. Just bought weathertech Christmas Tree Mat 35". Seems to be made well, Close to $100. I'll be looking into the window covers. Thanks Rob, 70 degrees today, should install ok.
I've had window deflectors on my truck for 2 years now and for the life of me I don't know why. I don't think they make the truck look better and I don't think I use them for their intended purpose which I'm not exactly sure what that is. I use to think they were so I could smoke on rainy days but I haven't smoked for 12 years. So why do I have these? Can someone tell me? lol
I installed them on my 2000 Tacoma right after I bought it. Twenty four years later they look as good as the day I bought them.
I installed these last summer, couldn’t be happier with them.
Nice👍
Looks great weather tech The best nobody can come by and steal them either🤣
True! That would be difficult 😬

Do the front ones go AGAINST the glass or between molding and glass?
They go between the molding and the glass.
