Assen Aug 2023 Race 1 Sam Moss #31 Div1 Superkart

Starting 52nd (Last Place) due to engine issues in Qualifying.
Luckily thanks to last minute help Russel Anderson of Anderson Karts loaning us a pair of carburetors and Andy Morley lending us an igntion box for the weekend we were able to get out for Saturday Mornings Race.
We could see the rain coming slowly, so majority of the grid opted to stay on slicks for the race. But on the formation laps it started to drizzle, followed by heavy rain throughout the race. I made it up to 15th by the end of Lap 1, and 9th by Lap 4 before the rain become too heavy for slick tyres.
Many opted to pit and change to wets loosing considerable time + laps, which turned out to be a wise decision as after 7 Laps it was just too risky to carry on. I DNF'd in 30th place which at least let me start half way up the grid for Race 2.
