Congratulations!! I've owned 28 Volvos, and own a 58 Chevrolet Cameo, and my friend Doug owns a 55 Oldsmobile converted to a pickup...so we are more qualified than most to appreciate all you did, GREAT JOB!!
Grettings from sweden! I also own a Volvo pickup its really common in sweden its like a car but you only need to bee 15 to drive it and its the same licens as moped but it can only go in 30km/h the type of the veichle is called (a traktor) if you Google it you Will get an idea:) btw to get it to go in 30km/h you take the gearbox from the Volvo amazon called m40 and put it bakwards behind the gearbox called m47, then you get the gearing to go 30km/h thats the rules how ever.mine is an Volvo 245 1993 d24 engine converted to d24 tic! Im already on my second engine swap/reabuild im gonna pick it up next week (b230fk) turbo verision of b230 but you already know that..great video and nice Painting!
Awesome work! Found your videos because I was researching pickup conversions because I'm going to cut up my Mercedes W124 into one. This series has been really helpful in figuring out what I need to do. Thanks!
@@ryan335 yeah dog283 on Instagram there's a few post regarding the Benz there. I've just started stripping the back half of it. I'm documenting the process, if it becomes a video for RUclips will depend on how much effort we can spare to do that but updates will be in IG
You killed it!!! Awesome build I love seeing people build what they want instead of settling for what everyone else has. Good job on an excellent way of life 👍🏼
Really cool to see someone doing this in the US. In sweden alot of younger people do this mostly with volvos and make them into a "tractor" also called "A traktor" in swedish.
You should start a business of professional Ute conversions, becuase this is absolutely amazing, very well made conversion. I would totally buy this in a heart beat. Truly a beautiful work of art.
Fantastic job y'all. I've got a 91 244 and an 89 245. The 244 is my current project... Exterior is done (very close... Possibly same paint). Moving onto an LS swap now. Join the Volvo LS swap Facebook group for resources, tips, knowledge etc on the swap, and post some pics of this beauty in the Volvo 240 fanclub group!
Excellent work guys. Glad y'all put the time into it to get it done well and to your liking, I know I would have hacked some corners but it really is a great looking vehicle!
Great job fellas! You have every reason to be proud of yourselves for such a great and imaginative build! Next step, small block chevy puttin' out about 400hp!
Great work, Guys! Totally enjoyed you two and the videos. Cool color. I live in Germany and you got me thinking of doing a project like this with an E-class Mercedes.
Nice build my dad did it with a big ole cad , used marine plywood in the bed. Turned out sharp , that thing would fly , sold it to a cad. lover it got totaled. His friend built one out of an old buick , called it his elpucko , his work ride.
I have done a few truck builds. Econoline van, Olds Cutlass, Geo tracker and VW wagon. I cheat when it comes to the floor of the bed. Our junkyards always have full sized truckbeds that are wrinkled up in the crush pile. I trim out the load floor and cut to fit my needs. Your project came out great. One nice feature of the Volvo is once you pull the shocks, you can swap out the springs for heavier duty coils. As long as they are same diameter. Paint a Swedish flag on the roof!
Awesome project. And what a great finish on that Volvo. If you wanted a longer bed, you should have used a Volvo 240 hearse instead! But wow man, what a result !!
Great fun and cool build. I'd love a Subaru Baja type version. Four doors so you can use a sun roof and still be semi functional as a truck. Even better with a 4X4 swap.
Really cool truck! Love the paint and work, I know cedar is good wood against rotting, but its soft wood, and will absorb moisture and trap it between the deck and the steal, and all the drill holes will promote rusting were you cant see it.
Congratulations of getting paint on the Volvo truck. I have many projects that are incomplete. Get sidetracked on other great ideas and too many interests - motorcycles (street, dirt, trials), car projects. Then there is just life duties! Looks great!
Always wanted something like this too! When I saw the old trunk space which you covered with wood I thought you even gonna make a toolbox with couple off hinges and handle with lock inbeded in wood...
Just saw this video listed, and after seeing that you're constructing a Volvo pick up truck, and how neatly you've integrated the tailgate into the rear cab body structure, I immediately subscribed! Looking forward to catching up on the truck build and your other videos.
I going to have to go back and watch the other ones. I thought it turned out good wood was a nice touch. I guess Volvo makes the safest truck now well with some help from you guys good job.
This is a really cool project. I have always wondered what a 240 wagon turned to pick up might look like. Now I dont need to wonder because you did it. Nice job guys. The only way it could be cooler is to drop it, wide body, put in 18" wheels with like 265 tires, turbo motor from a v70R with like 300+hp.
Wow, as mentioned in about 100 comments below, thease type of "pickups" are quite common in sweden (they're re-registred to tractors).
