It was supposedly a good work environment with decent morals and rules of conduct.
Things like no sugar/soda for the kid actors on set.
No foul language around them etc.
With things like that you can bet the rest of the work ethic and environment wasn't to bad compared to other shows production environments.
With most of these actors still around and still friends...that is another testament to just good things all around.
Even when Shanks left for season 6, he was still around and voiced Thor and such in his screen absence. If it was real bad he wouldn't have done that or they wouldn't have asked him to.
The 100th and 200th episode i think give a real good look into what really happened on set with these people.
Serious yet not to serious and don't sweat the small stuff. We are all here in this together.
And when you are producing two shows...40 plus episodes a season at the same time...the work environment must be a good one.
it just doesn't work if not.

It's crazy to me that there was a time that Rachel was not going to be Teyla. She just brought so much soul, life and heart to this role and seemed to connect to the character on such a deep level. How could it not have been Rachel? Very happy they changed their mind. She was wonderful in this role. I adored Teyla and certainly looked up to her and all the female roles actually as strong female role models.

Okay, Teyla could have ONLY been played by Rachel. She OWNED that character.
That being said. I can now understand why the first few episodes came across as if they simply did not know "what to do" with Teyla in regards to looks, personality, and overall "vibe". It took at least 1/2 of season 1 for Teyla to finally get 'settled in' in regards to characteristics.
It is almost like there were a few "left over ideas" for other actresses that were still left in the scripts and stories.

I always wondered: Teyla was so different in the pilot. She was running and jumping like a Teal'c or Ronon (and we later found out why), and then in the series proper that aspect of her got toned down, and I always wondered how that happened. I can guess anything from Rachel might have wanted less stunt work, or the writers saw Rachel as a person and transferred something from her into the character, or ... but the REAL reason? No idea.

A, in my opinion, absolutely distainful demand🤮😠. But of course,😂, the men in charge had already desided to have the sexiest woman they could find, eye candy, to show to the all guys they thought was the only audience they would attract.
Call me cynical if you like, but I believe, have believed since first episode I watched, that that is the only reason why Teyla (like basically all heroins) an overwhelming part of the time where wearing much less clothes than the situation required. The rest of the women from her tribe wore covering clothes. A lot of clothes.
I also think that the casting of Jason Momoa was partly a respons. "If we give the unexpected female audience a hunk, showing skin and muscles, we have leveled the situation and won't be seen as sexists". 😂 😂
My thoughts, also heard exactly the same from guys, which I had not brought up that with.
"A part of the business". A part that caused the "Me too" movement a few years ago. An understandable respons on that "part of the business". A movement that tragically ridiculed itself by accusations that couldn't be confirmed, accusations that were to be questioned, also from other women such I too, if it really was sexist or a compliment, or just a clumsy hit on with an honest meaning behind.
Unfortunately, sadly or nearly scary, many men all over the world, don't know how to give compliments and court women anymore. (A few tips here😉: Don't pinch her behind. Don't touch her behind AT ALL. Don't stare at her breasts, save that to when you ARE in a relationship with her, being alone in the room.
When you compliment her, do that about things you know she wants to be good at DOING. You can of course compliment her looks, but it's enough to say "You look wonderful", "That dress looks EXTRA good on you, it matches your eyes" (not about a red one, please 😂, the word 'extra' means, indirectly, she always look good, but today👌), "You're wearing extra beautiful ear rings today. They made me notice how pretty ears you have, I usually don't notice ears" (that makes her special, both about you noticed a detail in her outfit that has nothing to do with what is considered as no. 1 on the sex feature AND you noticed a likewise, small, nearly invisible body part. DO IT CASUALLY, not drooling, then you're most likely toast.)
NEVER EVER let your voice nor body language for a millisecond show that you in fact are DROOLING inside, with a severe Angst In Your Pants. (Quoting a title of a Sparks song from the eighties).
AND whatever you do, NEVER EVER mention she looks sexy, make a pun about she is sexy, joke about she is sexy. Leave out everything about sex. ❗UNTIL❗you ARE in a relationship with her.
Do you want it to last? At least two compliments on skills, one on looks daily (not her breasts or derriere every day 🙄), and every to every second about she is sexy. Let it come spontaneously, in an appropriate situation. A rose once in a while doesn't hurt🌹! (If you buy her a box of quality chocolate, for God's sake DON'T EVER IN YOUR F-ING LIFE SAY SHE IS OR ARE BECOMING FAT. And let HER eat it. If she offers you, take ONE piece, not a fistful, OK? Use your brains!)
This was just well meant. Good luck now, single guys!
🔴Girls! The main essence in this go for you too!!!
This was a parallell to the topic, look at it as a bonus 😂😂😂!

She has said before, she likes him, and they had so much fun. Don't worry!
I think she hesitated because she was suddenly aware of this was an interview before a camera, not something that could be left out without cuts, and didn't want to say what crazy things they, not necessary just she and Joe, were up to. She was in fact surrounded by a bunch of more or less crazy guys!
Especially Joe has hinted she wasn't shy to pranks either, so...
Established actress, married with child, if she told what they all did, she maybe was thinking of how that would be seen today.
When it comes to actors/actresses people tend to forget how far back in time things can be. People watch the series or movies TODAY, and automatically think "this is how things are now, I saw it now!". Our brains still live on the savanna, and has difficult times connecting too modern things. Such as today was 15 years ago. To have an imagened brand on your forehead could be troublesome.
A thought. Perhaps nothing to care about.

I wish I could live on the countryside, but my worn out body can't handle taking care of a house (the building, not the home per se), so I have settled to the second best. A teeny tiny town, surrounded by fields and forrests. First time I came here to look at the appartment I was stunned about how quiet it was. When friends from Stockholm visit they say the same. After living here, soon, five years, I find it noicy at times and flee to a friend who lives in the middle of nowhere! 😂😂
Anyway, the only way to make me live in a city, or nearby, is to kill me first! 😄

It was my favorite of the three shows. I though that Acastus Kolya / Robert Davi was a good villain as Genii leader, they could have done more with Erin Chambers who played Sora. Ronon Dex was an interesting character. It would have been nice if they could have downloaded the memories and knowledge of one of the Aurora members into a replicator host that wasn't networked to the others. I think that since they survived the conflict the longest, they would have been less arrogant than the other ancients. The encounters for the Ancients only served to provide ZPM's.
There were devices in SG1 capable of downloading ancient knowledge into human brains. I would have expected the Atlantis crew to ask if there was a way it could safely be used without overloading their brains.
There was too much Todd and Wraith cloning, although his skill set could have been used to produce new clone bodies for the Aurora crewmembers if they hadn't been written off as soon as they came in. One way they could have been used in the meantime would have been as a source of intelligence as they were frozen in stasis (one that could not easily be reached so they would be resorted to sparingly). Another way that Todd could have been used would have been to help out the Aesir reproduction problem if not the character, then perhaps his research could have been useful to them, something the Atlantis crew could have traded for.
