STOP IT, we can't SURVIVE without THRESHER VIDEOS. Seriously, we're glad you're safe bud. Guess I will book with Mr. Thomas soon for being a REAL ONE! Merry Christmas Y'all!
Merry Christmas, Coop. Your edits are always superb. Drone and b-roll put them over the top. Condolences on the accident but all the important stuff survived. Be careful out there and thanks for sharing!
Gosh Coop😟. So sorry that happened to you! Try not to get discouraged. You are so talented! Pretty soon you will be back out there catching your trophy trout! We all love you! See you on the rocks!
I love your videos Coop! Been following the channel ever since I moved to SW FL 6 1/2 yrs ago and started saltwater fishing. I am an insurance agent and there’s a low cost option to insure your cameras and camera equipment as well. It’s called a Personal Articles Floater. Some of the older generations call it a “ Floater “ or “ Rider “. I write those policies everyday. For as low as $2 - $5 a month you can insure cameras, camera equipment, firearms, and a multitude of other items. The policies I write are a $0 deductible, so no out of pocket to repair or replace your cameras. If you own your home a lot of times they can bundle said policy with your homeowners policy. If you rent and have a renters policy, same type of idea with bundling. That way if this was to ever happen again… you let your insurance company pick up the tab! So happy you you came out of that situation rattled but not broken or worse. I really enjoy your content, and this situation is only going to make you stronger! I pray you find peace, joy, and love this holiday season brother 🫡🫡🫶🏽🫶🏽🇺🇸🇺🇸
I’m sorry that happened Coop!! That sounds really scary. Thank goodness that guide was there to help out. Hopefully you get a lot more Patrion members so you can get back on your feet quickly!
Jesus dude! One bolt and one nut to attach any engine, on literally anything, is absurd. Even the push button start 25hp Yamaha outboard motor that cost me over 7k new and purred like a lil kitty vibrated. Every motor that's ever run, whether in a car, on a plane or on a boat, is gonna jiggle and shits gonna come loose. Thank the fishing and boating gods that you came out ok and didn't lose your motor. Thanks for sharing and I'm glad you're OK. An excellent cautionary story for anyone that's new to owning a skiff or any kind of boat. Shit happens fast on the water and you can easily lose everything, including your life or the life of someone on your craft. Learn from other people's mistakes or accidents, so you don't suffer through them yourselves.
DAMM, bro! It's been a tough end of the year for a lot of us. My 2018 4runner was finally paid off in October, and a week before Thanksgiving, it was totaled in an accident. Im sorry to hear it. But at least we are all alive and safe. You'll be back better, smarter and stronger after this!
Really sorry this happened to you, as a boater myself I have made dumb decisions and paid thousands in repair but luckily we are safe and sounds. all I can say is facts are we can never be too prepared and materials can be replaced if god wills. Right lines and be safe brother.
I was fishing the mouth of Baffin a few days ago hitting a wade with a buddy. 10 minutes into the wade he says "does it look like the boat is floating away to you?" Since there was two of us he gave me his jacket, waders, rod, and reel. He swam around 500 yards pausing for breaths midway, got to the boat only to find that our powerpole had snapped off completely when we parked. He ended up not being too cold since all his gear was dry (and as you know the water isn't frigid right now), I gave him my jacket for swimming. We ended catching 4 trout over 25 inches an all time good day at the next spot we hit so I would say it was worth the swim. Sorry Coop that sucks that this happened to you.
Glad you are okay! That's crazy about the motor. I have a Tohatsu and will be checking that connection regularly now. The motor isn't ruined though. My son was on his Solo Skiff and it capsized with a 6hp mercury on there. He tore it down and had it back running pretty quickly. Several oil changes and flushing and it is running like a top still. Probably better than before actually because he did a complete service on it. It can be better than new with a little work. Even if you have a shop do it, it's still probably cheaper than a new one. Sucks about all of the gear for sure. I have recently started fishing out of a 13' Gheenoe because it goes/launches anywhere a kayak does, goes super skinny, yet still allows me to stay really dry. It does get a little we with spray in heavy chop but if you run about half to three-quarters throttle it pulls the bow up and stays really dry. Probably not as easy to get in/out of for the wade fishing but still doable.
Merry Christmas Coop! I hate that happened to you brother. I got tumped by a huge swell one time while trying to get a line I was trolling clear of my fin. I fell right into the drifting line and it wrapped my left arm and right leg up. Thankfully I’m a tool and always wear my life jacket, so I busted out my emergency knife, cut the line, retrieved it, so I didn’t litter, and got back on the board. It was only then I realized the GoPro was long gone. I’ll take my life all day over stuff. Glad you’re safe and uninjured.
Did your drone make it? Sorry to hear about the unwanted yard sale. But the content you came up with was fantastic bro. Entertaining and educational!!!
Liked and commenting to hopefully boost your algo and if it gives you even a few cents then it's worth. Long time sub and watcher but please more catch and cooks also upload more frequently please. Sorry to hear brother, but that is why maintenance is important even bolts can come loose. Merry Christmas.
Sorry about the mishap. Your identifying what caused the accident will prevent others from being put in the same situation in the future. Continued to ght lines and wishing you a great 2025. -Seaghost.
did you manage to get some equipment back? guess it doesnt matter cause it woulda been full of water. dont think of it as a bad thing, just think of it as a life lesson for next time
I made a solo skiff and got bucked off too. I left the tensioner bar too loose, and when I let go of the tiller to scratch my nose, it immediately spun on me and threw me. Good thing i always where kill switch lanyard. PS make you a sweet deal on my home made… JK
Issue is servicing, All bolts Should be checked pretty often. heli's don't fly without it, racers don't race without it ETC... Pre Operation checks should be done. end of story.
The only time I don't wear a kill switch is in my kokanee boat....12 ft fiberglass with a 2.5hp yamaha..I troll at 1.2 to 1.4 mph.......and I don't stand to pee in a small boat , bailing jug
There is absolutely no need to bring negativity here. Obviously, it’s an expensive lesson learned and the probability of this defect in the motor is low and not expected. We have to be glad he is safe and is able to share the story with us.
Merry Christmas. Thanks for years of great content.
Holy shit this dude trying to spread some joy
You da man for that bruv
Blessings to you for spreading the love and easing his financial pain 🍻🙏🏻 Merry Christmas to all 🎄🙏🏻

Did your drone make it? Sorry to hear about the unwanted yard sale. But the content you came up with was fantastic bro. Entertaining and educational!!!
Yeah I had two ice chests and the drone was in the one that didn't rip open. Unfortunately the drone was cheaper than the stuff I did lose lol.

Pull the kill switch when something doesn't seem right. Hope you rebound. Keep fishing.

I made a SOT fishing kayak out of foam board and poor man's fiberglass . What materials did you make your skiff out of?
How you gonna let ole dean thomas save ya.
Glad you came out uninjured. Surely you had some kind of insurance on your rig and equipment.....please say you did!
Unfortunately it just ended.

We you able to save the catch?
Lol yeah the fish were swimming around on the stringer when the boat was upside down but still tied to the boat.
@ThresherFishing some good news for sure! Lol.

Dude. Rule #1 - Kill Switch Tether always.
Rule #2 - insurance is cheap.
Rule 3 waterproof bags
I was wearing the kill switch. Just didn't fall far enough away to pull it.
@@ThresherFishing Well, we’re all glad it didn’t end up worse. Gear is one thing, your safety is a whole other! Merry Christmas homie.
I think my insurance was like $40 a month on my new boat

How did you not store all your electronics in a waterproof bag is baffling to me. You are not a noob bro.
There is absolutely no need to bring negativity here. Obviously, it’s an expensive lesson learned and the probability of this defect in the motor is low and not expected. We have to be glad he is safe and is able to share the story with us.
I had them in a ice chest which is waterproof and will float but during the impact it broke the latch.
