My granddaughter wanted a wallet with the Beatles on it. She is a large Beatles fan. I made this wallet with Beatles fabric I got off of Etsy. The first one came out good but the Beatles pictures were off, like I cut off there heads. But then I made it again and adjusted my measurements and it came out perfect. Thank you for your great video
I could NOT have done this wallet without your tutorial. I am more of a visual learner and the directions on paper were difficult to understand. Thank you sooo much Jess for walking me thru my very first wallet. Not perfect but it's mine. Love your tutorials and how you present the information.
AH! I did it, I finished the wallet! The lining to exterior was by far the most challenging part, you were right! This first one is definitely my 'practice' piece. The next one will be better! Thanks for the amazing and thorough tutorial. You got this enthusiastic-determined-beginner to make this wallet. :)
You’re the first person here in the US that recommended a metric ruler! I bought one last winter because I watch a Korean guy on RUclips, and I got tired of translating all his measurements. I also bought a small metric cutting mat (that reverses to inches). It’s a handy size to have by my machine.
OMG - I’m amazing!!! I did it - OK, it’s not perfect but it opens and closes and looks so so so cute!! Thanks Jess - it took you and the instructions to pull me through and I know it was hard work for you when you had to repeat yourself 10 times on some sections but we did it! Woot woot!!
You just can't know how happy I was when I saw this video pop up yesterday! I just bought this pattern last week. Got to the step of joining the lining and exterior and stopped. I watched Miss Freckles video clips on Instagram over and over, but it just didn't seem like I was doing this step right (it was the fact that the lining seemed to short once you did the first side). I totally get it after watching you, and will be finishing it soon. Your detailed explanations and reassurance are so appreciated....you, yourself are so appreciated!
I just bought the bigger version of this wallet and I just ordered a CM/MM ruler and after watching your video I feel super confident that I'll be able to do it! Your tutorial on this pattern is very thorough and I'm now excited to give it a try!
I watched on fb and I was waiting and waiting for this upload. Your tutorials don’t ever disappoint! Thank you for all of your hard work, your energy is everything !
This is such a cute wallet but, wow, what a challenge!! Just an FYI for some out there. I'm not a novice sewist by any means but with the bulkiness and the glue, it's a wonder that I even completed one. The ONLY one that worked out for me was done in a thin cork and cotton fabric with light interfacing, and it's super cute. There is no way I could have completed one without your version of the tutorial, so thanks so much for that! You're truly a gifted instructor and you give us hope. Haha!
Jess, thank you very much for this amazing tutorial! I really appreciate your sewing and embroidery videos! Every week I'm looking forward to your videos. You have such a talent to explain things clear . Love this wallet, will try making one.
I can't thank you enough for this tutorial! I love this wallet. I just couldn't do it without you! Your videos are so easy to follow. This is my first wallet ever. The lining was super challenging. I am happy with the results. Now I am going to make another that looks decent. 8) -- You are so very inspiring to keep going. THANK YOU!
Jess you need a wooden clapper. you will warp your ruler putting on hot fabric. The weight of the clapper and the type of wood make it keep seam etc really flat. FQS stock them.
I love your channel! Have you ever tried any of the Tomato Candy Patterns? They are super cute but there is no talking in the tutorials, and everything is hand sewn.
I LOVE your tuts; I'm so excited to create my first one of these!! ... You really got me laughing at the 1:04:15 when your kitty decided to camp out behind your machine. I thought mine was the only one who did that!!
Thank you for this great tutorial of the zip around wallet. I think, for me, I may baste by hand the inner lining section to the outer panels first and then do the top stitching. We’ll see how it goes. Thanks for the hint of using Decovil heavy for the outer layer. What a great idea.
I finished the wallet. Had to glue down some of the lining edges to get it to open and close. I think I should have topstitched from the lining side. Next one, I think I will either eliminate the divider interfacing altogether or just put it on one side to eliminate bulk near the zipper. also, trim about a quarter inch off the corners in total so they lay better inside the shell.
Thank you Jess for your excellent tutorial on the Mia Wallet from Miss Freckles. If not for your step by step tutorial I would not have been able to complete it! I wanted to share with everyone my first and not my last Mia Wallet! Yes, it is very intimidating at first but Jess goes through it step by step and lucky for us we can click the pause button several times.
I’m hoping the assembly of the big one is about the same I just purchased the big thank you for doing these videos I love the way you explain everything I’m a visual learner so I appreciate it very much.
you sound exactly like my sister. this was a great tutorial. I am going to make something very similar and your ideas are going to help a lot!! thanks.
Hello! I would like to know if I can substitute the decovil with something else and if so, with what , Thank you in advance by the way great tutorials 😉
Well, I finished it! I am here to tell you that if it hadn't been for your tutorial being so thorough,(as always) it never would have happened. No disrespect intended toward the designer, as it's an awesome little bag. I just couldn't make heads nor tales of the instructions. It's not perfect by a long shot, but it's finished. It might be a while before I attempt another one, but I will. Thanks for the Great tutorial.
i made it! i think i did well for my first time. lining stitching is wonky and the zipper i used wasnt wide enough so its a bit tight. still feels like a grand accomplishment haha
Hello! First of all...thank you, thank you and thank you! If it wasn't for you I would have never finished this wallet. Well, now it's finally done! And although it certainly is not perfect (I found it to be tough at times), I am glad I finished. But it was you who said 'just finish the wallet'. I so appreciate it! And I also like the calming music you had going when you were sewing. I noticed also that you are sewing on a Bernina which I have as well. What kind of thread do you usually use for bags and such? It seems I can only find the 40 wt cotton or polyester thread that will work for my machine. Any thoughts on that? I have a Juki 1181 but the spools do not interact with the Bernina. Thanks again! Ellen
I want to make this! This is really adorable 😍 I think it's harder than what it looks. U make everything look easy n that's what encourages me...Thank u
I just bought this pattern and I bump to your channel. Thanks so much for your helpful tutorial. Can I request if you could make a tutorial for amelia small wallet too
Could this be altered to have essential oil roller ball slots instead of card spots? super newby here and trying to find a good wallet pattern to alter. I looked through your videos and thought this one might work best, but if you have another idea let me know :-)
Maybe you've discussed this before but are your tutorials still leaning towards being able to make with a domestic or are you using your beast and more difficult/thick patterns? Thanks for all your tutorials, you are the best!!!
Can you use pellon 70/71F instead of Decovil Heavy - and also could you sub SF101 for the 809? I have sf101 on hand but if the 809 is more on the 'papery' side I could see the 101 being too much.. Also can we maybe get a version for all vinyl outside?
Hello! Have you used the Pellon 70/71F? I just did... impossible to attach interior and exterior panels. I guess I need to start over with lighter materials.
Hi I am a new subscriber to your channel and I have been watching your videos from 4 yrs to more current videos, just wanted to let you know that a couple of you links aren’t working for me! I will try them on my computer tomorrow to see if it’s because I am watching from a iPad! One it’s an interfacing link, and I am not sure of the other!
The sandhill sling uses a similar method of top stitching the lining right in, and she has you hand baste stitch first to keep everything together. I wonder if that'd help here? It was definitely a pain, but was worth it.
I love watching your Channel. I love the thread trick, I do that now. Any advice on zippers? I am fairly new to sewing and attaching zipper pulls are a nightmare x
Thank you for another great tutorial! ❤️ A question - where do you find the storage units/hooks for your pegboard? The pegboard looks very similar to the one I have, but I can’t find anything cute like those!
Thank you for this awesome tut!! Does this one have a coupon code? I thought it did but now I can’t find it. Or maybe it doesn’t have a code? 😅 Asking cause I place far too many purchases per day 🙈
I broke my outer zipper-pull pulling it thought the side hole. I am heart broken. My first wallet and I broke it just before I made the zipper pouch. The last little step. And pulling through the Zipper.... I broke it. I used a larger zipper pull and well YUP! I broke it. :'(
My granddaughter wanted a wallet with the Beatles on it. She is a large Beatles fan. I made this wallet with Beatles fabric I got off of Etsy. The first one came out good but the Beatles pictures were off, like I cut off there heads. But then I made it again and adjusted my measurements and it came out perfect. Pelion 808 & 809 are exactly the same, the only difference is the width of the interfacing 808 is 20” and 809 is 45” wide. I use this stuff a lot.
Thank u 💗
I could NOT have done this wallet without your tutorial. I am more of a visual learner and the directions on paper were difficult to understand. Thank you sooo much Jess for walking me thru my very first wallet. Not perfect but it's mine. Love your tutorials and how you present the information.

Hi Jess, I hope this can help, there is a little notion that you can use to trace 1/4 inch around, it is called: Quilter's wonder wheel
Great job Jess!! When I find a pattern I like I look to see if you've done a tutorial on it. Keep doing what you're doing.
OMG - I’m amazing!!! I did it - OK, it’s not perfect but it opens and closes and looks so so so cute!! Thanks Jess - it took you and the instructions to pull me through and I know it was hard work for you when you had to repeat yourself 10 times on some sections but we did it! Woot woot!!

I love, love, love the way you do your tutorials! Thank you so much for all of them!
Really like your determination of "Getting things finished" . It's a powerful vibe!!
Your tutorial videos give me the confidence I need to try projects like these! Thank you Jess for what you do 🙂

Thank you for the tutorial. I made the larger version and if it wasn't for your help I don't don't think I would have finished! 😂
Thanks!
I did it!! Wasn’t too bad, and it’s really cute! Thanks for this great walk thru-couldn’t have done it otherwise I think!
Another great, easy to follow tutorial - thank you! This is so cute that I'm planning on buying the larger wallet pattern too!
Jess, thank you very much for this amazing tutorial! I really appreciate your sewing and embroidery videos! Every week I'm looking forward to your videos. You have such a talent to explain things clear . Love this wallet, will try making one.

I’m hooked on your channel! And I don’t even make bags lol
But watching others sew is so satisfying!! 💕
I watch Jess’ videos every morning and every evening…I do sew, but can’t right now.
Jess you need a wooden clapper. you will warp your ruler putting on hot fabric. The weight of the clapper and the type of wood make it keep seam etc really flat. FQS stock them.
She does have one using it in other videos. Thanks for the tip :)

Thank you!! I did finish my first one. I used lightweight cork and faux leather.
Love this tutorial Jess, the finished wallet is so cute! Love the chilled out music on this one too 😁
Love how you show actual camera setup of you sewing on the machine . You are a great a instructor.
I’m hoping the assembly of the big one is about the same I just purchased the big thank you for doing these videos I love the way you explain everything I’m a visual learner so I appreciate it very much.
I am so excited about this! I tried making it with just the pattern and no tutorial… it was not happening! 😊
you sound exactly like my sister. this was a great tutorial. I am going to make something very similar and your ideas are going to help a lot!! thanks.
The best tutorial for Mia wallet on YT. Thank you ❤️
Oh god I laughed so hard ‘apparently I’m a pirate’ 😂😂
Do you think Cork fabric would work in place of the vinyl
The one I made with cork is the only one that I've succeeded with as of yet.
Hello! I would like to know if I can substitute the decovil with something else and if so, with what ,
Thank you in advance by the way great tutorials 😉
I LOVE your tutorials. I have learned new, better ways to do things with each video. And, I need that stiletto tool. Thank you!

Great tutorial! I’ve had this pattern for awhile… but haven’t made it. NOW I’m pretty sure I can do it. Thanks!
Where did you get the Marie scrap fabric you used to apply the interfacing??? I love it!! And I neeeed it!! 😍
Hello! First of all...thank you, thank you and thank you! If it wasn't for you I would have never finished this wallet. Well, now it's finally done! Can u do this pattern exterior all in vinyl. do u just omit the decovil. Or still use it
I want to make this! This is really adorable 😍 I think it's harder than what it looks. U make everything look easy n that's what encourages me...Thank u
Such a cute little gift!
I just bought this pattern and I bump to your channel. Thanks so much for your helpful tutorial. Can I request if you could make a tutorial for amelia small wallet too
That is absolutely darling and you explain things very, very clearly. Thank you!
Can I use this video to make the regular size Mia zip around wallet?
Could this be altered to have essential oil roller ball slots instead of card spots? super newby here and trying to find a good wallet pattern to alter. I looked through your videos and thought this one might work best, but if you have another idea let me know :-)
Maybe you've discussed this before but are your tutorials still leaning towards being able to make with a domestic or are you using your beast and more difficult/thick patterns? Thanks for all your tutorials, you are the best!!!
This would make great Christmas presents. Awesome video tut!
Great Tutorial! A very cute wallet! Thank you for sharing!
I like your encouragement!!! I may start and FINISH!!!
Hi! Can you do a tutorial on this in vinyl in the large size wallet she has?
Jess, you are the best! Thank you! ❤😊
Could you please share exactly what thread you’re using? The links only take me to the website. ❤️
Where do you get your vinyl markers?
I wonder about using leather double sided tape for attaching the zipper ends . Yes, I did enough hand sewing as a child to not want to do any more.
Instead of placing a ruler on top of the card pocket, use a tailors clapper.
Can you use pellon 70/71F instead of Decovil Heavy - and also could you sub SF101 for the 809? I have sf101 on hand but if the 809 is more on the 'papery' side I could see the 101 being too much.. Also can we maybe get a version for all vinyl outside?

How do I add money slots behind the card slots?
I love your tutorials. You’re the best.
What type of Decovil Heavy? The link isn’t working for me
I love watching your Channel. I love the thread trick, I do that now. Any advice on zippers? I am fairly new to sewing and attaching zipper pulls are a nightmare x
I just found this for zipper pulls the other day: ruclips.net/video/5WsXihkpCL8/видео.html...in the drop down box she links where you can buy them😊
I agree with the other comments. I loveeee your tutorials.. you are the Best!!
Thank you for another great tutorial! ❤️ A question - where do you find the storage units/hooks for your pegboard? The pegboard looks very similar to the one I have, but I can’t find anything cute like those!
Not Jess but I have a very similar set up and I found every thing at IKEA.
@@fosta60 thank you very much! Will check out their website. 😀
Love love your channel you make me think I can make anything! Do you think this would work 120% With a wrist strap ? X
Could you please do a tutorial on the large Mia wallet. I would greatly appreciate it.
I am having trouble signing in to purchase this project . Can you help me ?
Question: what size should the card slots end up being? Mine were two different sizes.Arrgh!
Can I use a leather instead of vinyl
Thank you.. I can not wait to try it
I've almost given up like 80 times at the zipper install. I'm giving it a break for the night cause I'm feeling done.....
Thank you for this awesome tut!! Does this one have a coupon code? I thought it did but now I can’t find it. Or maybe it doesn’t have a code? 😅 Asking cause I place far too many purchases per day 🙈
Ive been looking for a new iron and yours seems to get really nice and hot… what kind do you use?
Well done Jess !
Thank you so much for doing this tutorial! Love it!
Lol, I love that I'm not the only one who says "Finagle"
Ahoy! Thanks fer another great video. I can nah wait t' try this. Ye're the best.
Ok. I am obviously totally inept. I have joined snack fabric and can’t seem to find any fabric. Any one able to educate me please?
Is there a link to buy the pattern
I ordered the pattern and got a e-mail that I can download but when I try can’t download
Awesome tutorial!
So very informative and interesting !! Thank you
Hiiii Jess love this wallet!!
Love your videos, thank you for your awesome tips.
What do you mean by you had a hard time "because of your skill level"? I think you're greattttt
I broke my outer zipper-pull pulling it thought the side hole. I am heart broken. My first wallet and I broke it just before I made the zipper pouch. The last little step. And pulling through the Zipper.... I broke it. I used a larger zipper pull and well YUP! I broke it. :'(
Nicely done! Thank you
As always a great tutorial
Somebody needs to develop a back up camera but for the underside of a sewing machine for those seams where you need to see both sides lol
Thanks
Thank you.
That looks exactly like Maggy55's pattern the classic zip around wallet.. I haven't watched the whole video just seeing the intro 😳 🤔
I LOVE your tutorials BUT this pattern is a nightmare 🫨😵💫
Adorable!
