I just wanted to let you know that I purchased your book from Amazon . I really enjoyed reading your journey through life and how you committed yourself to the person you are now. I also had some dark times in my life dealing with addiction and I’m proud to say that I overcame them as well.
The lessons that you outline in the book are spot on and watching your videos is a great way to understand all the different techniques. Congratulations on your book. Thanks, Ziggy

Thanks Vincent! Your tip about wrist bent and then loosen it and release that angel at contact (when shoulders are fully open) for brushing solved all my issues! I had been struggling to change my technique from pushing to topspin for so long. It’s all clear now! Got my aha moment, thanks to you!

the type of grip a player uses, has a lot of influence on her takeback and swing path too.

thanks, can you do a video about arm supination? I feel like when I point the butt of the racket to the ball I am flexing the wrist and so I reverse to my old forehand which is a bit floppy so I am not losing the matches.

Do you have a lesson about the actual in-out throwing the racquet motion? That's where I have a problem as it feels the further the racquet moves from your body the less control you will have. I would not be surprised if a lot of amateur players feel the same way but don't articulate it when they talk to pros.

When I hold my FH (Eastern) at 3 out of 10, the handle moves in my hand on the lag phase. How to remedy that?

You could slide your hand higher up on the grip, perhaps this would help. I only usually hear of the grip sliding at contact point which happens when you are using just the arm to brush from low to high.

The sequence you described, where windshield wiper after contact, has no effect on the ball. The ball on the string bed is less than 0.005 seconds. What’s critical is from the pat the dog to contact, the swing path and racket face angle 📐

If you don't end that way you won't be able to hit the ball as hard...

@@tijgertjekonijnwordopgegeten what is the physics behind your claim?

@@bournejason66 It's not that finishing in a certain way is supposed to affect the ball mid-air.
But about the fact that if you don't plan on finishing that way the rest of your swing before you make contact with the ball will be wrong.
For example, if you plan on stopping your racquet right after hitting the ball you will always slow down before you actually hit the ball (I don't know why but humans seem to work that way) and it therefore affects how fast the ball goes even though the change you're making is supposed to only be after contact.

There should be external shoulder rotation at the start of the forward swing then internal rotation of the arm as you get close to contact, this rotation starts before you hit the ball, the windshield wiper finish is a consequence of how the arm rotates to acquire topspin. You have to dissipate the energy you created in the forward swing, that's called the follow through - you gotta brush or roll the racket some way to get spin

Bent elbow offering any leverage or power makes no sense. Imagine trying to throw something with the elbow bent at all anywhere near contact. Yeah no.
