Thank you so much! I really appreciate the comment. It's been my goal to provide the most comprehensive travel guides, and I'm glad you found it to be that way. Have a wonderful trip to Kauai!
Headed to Kauai in Feb 2024 (staying in Lawai Resort near Poipu), and this video was VERY helpful!! Hopefully the lines won't be quite as long in the winter months.
Thanks for the comment! I appreciate it. I'm so glad you found this helpful. Enjoy your time there. I'm hoping the lines won't be as long for you either.
How are the lines? I'm going in a couple weeks . Puka dogs? I'm wondering the name of the restaurant like Dukes? In Poipu? Looks like I need to make reservations 🙃
I love your photos. We're going to Kauai for our 40th wedding anniversary and are looking forward to going to some of the places you've mentioned. My wife loves coffee. Thank you for the tips!
Great video with wonderful information! We are headed to Kauai in Sept to celebrate our 40th Anniversary and will definitely try a majority of these great recommendations. Thank you for sharing !
Da Crack will blow your mind. It’s been 4 years since I had the burrito so I think it was pork with all the fixings. Don’t even think of toying with the way it’s made. You will be speechless while you eat. Your brain will be thought less and lost in the pure pleasure
I love it. I hadn't looked into the hikes much on the north shore. I'll definitely add the Okolehao trail to my list. It was fun hearing what your ohana had to share. :D Mahalo!

The Hanalei Dolphin by the Hanalei river has a wide selection of fresh caught fish and is a bit pricey. There was a Dolphin Poipu but it appears to be closed. The Sleeping Giant Grill (formerly Kilauea Fish Market), located BEHIND the Coconut Market Place next to Islander on the Beach Resort, is a moderate restaurant with fresh fish. Another moderate fish restaurant is the Kilauea Fish Market located in a small shopping center in Kilauea. The last time we were there a pickup pulled up with a just caught ahi.
Thanks! I use my iPhone 13 for most everything. For drone footage I use a DJI Mini 2. Underwater footage in some of my videos is done with the Go Pro Hero8.
Thank you for catching this! I always get these two mixed up. Several years ago we were supposed to stay at Koloa Landing, but had to switch to the Waipouli Resort because Koloa’s pool was being remodeled. My mistake and I appreciate you for pointing that out!
@@romanarozmilowska2679 What a beautiful resort to stay at! Enjoy your time there! And thanks for watching my video. I'm so glad you found it helpful.
I'd be happy to answer any questions you have. But for general reference, Keoki's Paradise was the most expensive, with our meals around $50 a piece, and the drinks were around $18-$20 per drink, which is the norm for most places around Kauai, when it comes to alcoholic beverages. The cheapest place was probably Kenji Burger. But overall, you can look to spend anywhere from $15+ on a meal in Kauai. It is expensive there when dining out, and would want to be something you plan for, in terms of budget. Let me know if you have any other questions, and I'd be happy to answer!
I had a residence in Wainiha valley throughout the 90's. You can't do a food tour without mentioning Hamura's in Lihue, or featuring local food. Not a review that's really going to feature the island's best. Mainland food with a mainland review 😝
If you want to step back to the past and the Grove Plantation take the tour at the oldest part of the plantation which is still as it was not far away from Gaylord's.
AFTER watching your post i am scared to go there though i've been to Hawaii 13 times already in 80s. .cheap unhealthy food served at truck stops since few people can afford to eat right .All that sugary bad oils, GMO fast foods are scary. just look around at locals what is happening in last 25 years to them .
Hawaii is definitely on the more spendy side, but for us it feels worth it. We love our time there and feel there is no place like it. Also, the hospitality is the best on the islands. So we don't mind spending the extra money.
Total rip off! Why would you spend $$ on a get away vacation when you can just get drunk on your front porch while you watch the cars drive by? 😂😂 Vacations are pricey, but that's why you do it on occasion. Hawaii is a great destination & the prices range from island to island.
We are going to Kauai for our 5th time in 6 years in October. Sure it's expensive, but what isn't these days? It's Heaven on Earth and worth every penny. And there truly are a lot of ways to economize too!
This is the most comprehensive video about Kauai I've seen so far. Plan to visit these place in my trip to Kauai

Me too,
Maybe we will meet.. lol
Exactly what I came here to write. This list was exactly what I was looking for. The kind of places my family will actually want to eat at.

I'm going in a couple of weeks, I didn't realize we should make early reservations to eat as well as events. 😂

It's on my list for next time. I've heard such wonderful things about it.
I Must try this❤
I'm so happy to see Tahiti Nui is still there. We ate there in 1988 and 1995 and are about to return to Kauai next year. Thanks for the video.
It's iconic! Enjoy your time in Kauai!

Kind Koffee is the best! Try their avocado toast too. Won’t disappoint! 🎉
Thanks for the suggestion!
Kauai island brewery is a must and always go multiple time, everytime

I Think Holoholo is located at Koloa landing resort

HoloHolo grill is NOT by Waipouli beach resort! It is by Koloa Landing resort in Poipu.
Kauai has so many coffee shops, I’m now scared to use the restrooms once I go there😣
Why?
WOULD BE NICE IF YOU TALKED ABOUT PRICES.

You missed four great fresh fish restaurants, all much better quality than Dukes.
Which ones?
Lihue pronunciation sounds really off lol

I wouldn't be worried at all. The one thing I love about Hawaii is the ability to find fresh and healthy foods.
