Going to be taking a break from this challenge after this stream. It's good fun and leads to some really fun encounters and challenges (especially after clearing up a lot of the jank) - I don't want the main channel project to get too far out of scope, so we'll make something using the streams we've done so far - collect some feedback and get the perk potions onto the Nexus so people can give this a try! Will eventually jump back into it after some more features are added! This was a really fun series and a completely different way to experience the game with all y'all!
Also weirdly, as much fun as the raw gameplay and progression is with this challenge - I feel there's an aspect to our dumb little adventures that gets lost when the game is 99% about combat and mechanics. In a way it's made me appreciate the downtime, goofing with NPCs and what not.
Just some casual Skyrim tips for all your challenges that ive noticed you haven't remembered or possibly didn't know joov Undead are immune to poison Vampires are weak to fire Enemy level is irrelevant when soul capturing while enemy type is relevant (A draugar wight soul will always fill petty or lesser because it's still a draugar but a giant will will always fill a great) Almost no enemies in Skyrim have a resistance to shock so it's the best elemental damage type in the game
An enemy's "type" and level are related. For example, a "Draugr" is always level 1, but a "Restless Draugr" is always level 6. Also, the kind of soul a creature has IS based on its level, with petty being 1-3, Lesser being 4-15, Common 16-27, Greater 28-37, and Grand being 38 and beyond.
thank you for the livestream uploads, i dont have time to watch stuff live, and having an option to opt in whenever i can and watch the full videos is such a big help, great content i like it alot
Yessss cant wait to get off work and watch this!! just finished the last vod this morning :D this has been my entertainment while working on knitting a blanket so 5 hrs is awesome lol
When used on dragons, essential NPCs, giants or dead thralls, it will exclusively cause elemental explosions. The Wabbajack can be a useful tool against strong opponents due to its range of debilitating and/or instantly fatal effects.
Happy you figured out that booze is actually crazy useful for stamina. I always pick it up if I have space and just use it (or skooma) as additional power attacks 😅 If I'm not using any intoxication mods that is
I reaaally like the concept and the gameplay of this challange Mr. Joov - BUT my Skyrim Looter Goblin soul keeps screaming whenever you run through a room full of loot only to later find out that you haven't found much useful stuff and don't have money to buy anything more than a couple of perk potions. Hence Im still here, watching this VOD in installments so that I have time to recover xDD
I gave Kingdom come deliverance another go thanks to watching you play it. I originally played it in closed beta and it was awful, so glad they got it to where it is. Has to be up there with my favourite titles; GTA, Red dead redemption and TES.
I really think you should give Breton a try. Turkey Stick showed how useful summons are, and the bretons magic resistance and magic absorption can lead to silly moments where the enemy mage hits you with fire and provides you all the magicka you need to heal up and finish the fight. There have been times where I intentionally leave the enemy mage alive to keep feeding me magicka while I deal with everyone else.
@ChaoticGoodPeasant23 normally I'd agree however in discussions of advice the difficulty you play on is actually really important for how accurate your information is/how applicable it is
In skyui, open inventory and in yhw top right yhere is a settings button and you can enable value/weight. Also you need to make sure you loot all the bodies of the enemies you kill.
i'm a stream and vod watcher and honestly it's so fun hearing your favorite streamers say your name in the vods, just a nice lil serotonin boost. only downside is i'm also a vod sleeper so sometimes it does wake me up when i hear my name, even if it's just my gamertag
If you feel like you have to accept that your coffee tastes bad, you probably aren’t buying/making very good coffee, Joov! Ya gotta buy freshly roasted, whole bean coffee and grind it yourself. Your method of brewing also makes a huge difference! Most standard drip machines don’t get very even extraction and result in bad tasting coffee, you’re way better off doing it by hand IMO! French presses, V60 pour-overs, or even an Aeropress are all pretty cheap and easy ways to make delicious coffee. Or of course you can always spend a ton of money to get an actually good machine that will do all the work for you, but the good ones are genuinely awful how expensive they are lol. Anyway, sorry for rambling, I’m a bit of a coffee nerd XD And I hope I didn’t seem rude! I just want you to be able to enjoy your caffeine addiction as much as I do! Lol. Love the content btw (:
Joov ignoring all of the raw meat and fish (the stuff hanging from the racks and ceiling) at 1:34:00 really hurt. Come on, man, you just (rightfully) complained about your hunger meter and had to resort to stealing food, grab the actual free stuff and cook it at your next convenience with some salt !
not done with the vod yet (around 1:01:00 mark). he skipped past SO much food in swindler's den in that first run. bread, potatoes, so much food all around smh. zero sympathy for his character's hunger pains lol
1:04:11 wyrd like in "the scroll of wyrd" is pronounced like weird, it's actually the original concept that the word weird comes from but it's relevant to the fates and magic energy.. concept of God etc in different ancient cultures.. worth a Google
I think at the very end you had a potion that WOULD increase your health past 0. The "potion of health", Then you could've restored your health back to full
Didn't see no one else mention it but your imperial sword is better than ancient nordic you picked, even though they both had 12 damage, reason being imperial sword is 2 points lighter. Some people think that "heavy weapons are slower" only means weapon types, but it actually applies to weapons in one class too, hence why longhammer - an orcish hammer can rival daedric warhammer in terms of dps
9:50 I was absolutely certain he was gonna say Childish Gambino but .Paak came out of left field and I just started liking Joov all over again. You all owe it to yourselves to check out Anderson .Paak
I think what this mod needs is a bit more structure. Now I've only ever played 2 rogue likes (Hades and the god of war dlc), so i wouldn't say im at all an expert but ive noticed something that might help if it hasnt been said before. In both rogue likes I've played, there was a structure, a path with a goal at the end. The path makes up the majority of the rogue like but its that ever closer etching to the end that keeps a player playing. In one of your previous streams, you said that this mod has the player go through 70 different dungeons? I think that number should be condensed to maybe 15 or 20 random dungeons that lead to a final boss room(Karstags boss location seems perfect). The rate at which you gain xp would need to increase to compensate for the lowered amount of dungeons you have to go through aswell as some more mods like OBIS that to liven up the non-bandit dungeons. Also utlizing the door randomizer mod to make sure the you dont have to run through Bleak Falls every time you die😅. Another thing is permanent and temporary unlocks. Now this is my personal opinion, i feel like skyrims a bit too open ended for this in terms of the build a player can play with. I think adding something like classes that add penalties to using items that your class isnt proficient with could add a layer that i feel a rogue like needs.(maybe every time you reach a shop you can choose a different class that lets you respec. Increasing your level in certain trees while decreasing it in others). Certain items should be kept on death like Dragon claws(could be another way to gain dragon souls). Thats really all i can think of. Good starting point that i cant wait to see how it goes. Skyrim modders are fuckin wizards, i have know idea how they do it with this old ass, buggy ass, engine😂😂
I'm stumped. Right off the bat, I knew coffee wasn't tea, because tea's made with the leaves of herbal plants. at first, I thought coffee was burnt milk (assuming almond milk fits the "milk" category), but coffee's made with beans and almond milk with nuts. I've determined that coffee is a bean broth. Gonna try to make a vegan light roast coffee soup (I'm not vegan, I just want to commit to the limitations)
Hey Joov! I was wondering if you ever tried Enderal and if not if yuo're planning on doing so, because it's basically a crazy modded Skyrim, but with all your job with curating and debugging mods already done, insane story and great characters. Also it can be pretty darn challenging even on normal difficulty, which I think you'd appreciate
@DietJoov you should start using lightning spells for magic caster enemies :3 to train their mana :3 like the basic healing spell and firespell you like to use i would recommend you the sparks spell :3
Pretty sure you coulda healed past that last death if you took the potion of increased health and then used healing pots. Maybe a little cheesy but you did open your menu in time...
people who hate Genshin refuse to believe that a large majority of the playerbase is actually women. because they need to keep the 'neckbeard' excuse to keep hating it. source; i am a woman that also watches your vods while i play Genshin.
Wow wow coffee does not need to taste lake dogshit. getting fresh roasted coffee beans and grinding them right before brewing can give amazing and interesting flavors. However you like it, espresso, pourover or aeropress, it does not have to taste like dogshit.

I'd say using instant heal potions or being able to use more than 1 at a time is an exploit, but the fact that you're limited to the quantity you can find is enough of a handicap to balance it

I love your videos but damn your play style triggers my OCD like crazy, I find myself yelling at the screen things I would do which seem obvious to me but might not be in the moment
at this point im convinced your streams are faked and dont exist, never get notis while your live and never see you have any vods on twitch but then theres a video of the VOD? madness
As who watched the entire series from start, I must say you missed worlds as loot, and wasted your money with gambling potions. If you hadn't missed a lot of valuable items and chests, you wouldn't need to make money with gambling potions anyway. Wasted too much healing potions and doing terrible battle strategies in some fights. You must more careful if you want to beat this challenge, but if it's just for fun it's okay, and I have to say the race you chose sucks, the hardest part of this challenge is mages, you should have reduced the damage you take from mages by choosing nord or breton.

another idea for perks is to have a heavy item that gives a passive bonus in your bag so you have to make the choice between more loot or raw power
I personally really enjoyed the first stream of the challenge but after you introduced the checkpoints, it got super boring
Just some casual Skyrim tips for all your challenges that ive noticed you haven't remembered or possibly didn't know joov

Vampires are weak to fire

Joov yours challenge are so cool. I like your style. Skyrim is immortal and you know how to manage it. 😊👍
Joov is the reason I downloaded swearing mudcrabs.
It makes me giggle every time. I am easily amused.
I need that immediately.
I literally just finished the last vod for this series 😼 perfect timing!!!
I'm at the point where I am actively waiting for the next vod drop to soothe my aching soul. Helps that I do indeed love this challenge.
Agree and agree
Same, hopefully soon

It’s like making history
Sweet! A new video. FYI as a vod channel viewer I watch the whole thing but thanks for the time stamps.
This series of VOD's has been sustaining me for like the last week.
Yessss cant wait to get off work and watch this!! just finished the last vod this morning :D this has been my entertainment while working on knitting a blanket so 5 hrs is awesome lol
Watching joov+playing Skyrim= infinite vibes
This is my favorite thing that you've done so far on your channel.
Used to be a speedrunner like you, but then I took a spike door to the face.
I was looking forward to this so much, thank you JOOV!!!!!!!!
3:45:10 wow, the mace of molag bal would have been great in combination with stam healing

When used on dragons, essential NPCs, giants or dead thralls, it will exclusively cause elemental explosions. The Wabbajack can be a useful tool against strong opponents due to its range of debilitating and/or instantly fatal effects.
republic commando music is so nostalgic such a good game
With how long it takes Joov to do SKYRIM puzzles, it really makes me wonder how terrible he is at actual puzzles.
