I live in Sparks and I love it. My son walked to elementary, middle and high school from our house. All the schools are less than 1 mile away. We have all kinds of shopping, restaurants and entertainment nearby. We have a lot of special events within a couple miles. My house is in an older neighborhood, but most of my neighbors are older and very quiet. My mortgage payment is pretty low compared to most. My loan is at 2%.

I love Reno. My wife and I moved here 7 years ago from Lake Tahoe, and its been great to us. Wish they would build more houses as opposed to the high density apartments they are putting up everywhere. And wish they would get a contractor to finish the Old Harrahs downtown. It has left a pit of despair downtown which all the local businesses are feeling.

There's also a Costco across from Home Depot, a Wal Mart and a Kohls across Pyramid hwy. as well as few other businesses.

Closed on a short sale home earlier this year here in D’Andrea. 7 offers in less than 24 hours. You should release videos doing more of a deep dive into some of these neighborhoods out here in Sparks. Family and friends of mine will be moving to this area, some this year and a few in following years.

One of our friends has a vacation home in Sparks, when we went to visit two years ago, it was nice, the air quality was lovely, a drive away from the snow and other activities, the neighborhoods felt spacious. The only thing was, you need to make sure you have a good car because somethings are a drive away. I wonder what local hospitals they have in Sparks and their ratings (I havent looked into that). But I think of all the places I have visited, Sparks is one of the few places I would consider actually settling down in. Its not like anything we have here in The Bay Area, California... it's overcrowded, overpriced (a small home is easily 1million) and crime is at an all time high. Thanks for sharing.

There is a hospital nearby depending on where you live in sparks and yes a car is almost a have too. Thanks for the comments.

Sparks looks like a nice area and mild enough weather. But as a retiree, crime is very important to us. According to areavibe crime is rated D. Too high crime for us. Same low crime ratings in all these cities near Reno.

I never know what to think of the ratings but what part of Sparks were you looking? My son lives in sparks and has no issues.

Sparks is named for Nevada's first governor and was created on a swamp, by the Central Pacific (SP) in the late 1870's, moving from Wadsworth.

Hi, I am addicted to your videos and appreciate you so very much. As retirees we are looking at moving Springish 2025 to your area. I have a question I cannot find an answer to on your videos … healthcare. Is there better healthcare or specialty clinics in Sparks or Carson City area? Are the healthcare and emergency services growing in conjunction with the growth of the area? I am grateful for your input, and appreciate it so very much.

@@kimheine9405 hello and good morning. Thanks so much for the kind words and I appreciate you watching the videos. Yes, we have had all sorts of new hospitals and clinics built over the last 10 years. As far as specifics for health care let’s talk or email me your specific questions and I will get you some answers. Brian@thelessingerteam.com.

Don't bother with the marina. I've lived in the same house on the marina for over 15 years now. Sadly over 50% of the homes are now vacation rentals. There is no longer any sense of community. You have no sense of security as you don't know from week to week who the hell is in the area around you. The city of Sparks really needs to regulate vacation homes. Nevada is already limited on space due to the federal government owning most of the land. These homes could have families living here, but nope, just mini hotels...just sad.

The joke for the area: "Reno is so close to hell, you can see Sparks"

    • @LivingInRenoTahoe

Nobody has used that joke for 20 years but it was funny back in the day.
