Nick I absolutely love what you are doing! You became my favorite youtube person. I find fascinating your musical skills. Every Thick Riff Thursday you inspire and impress me more. I wish I was so creative on guitar. Love your content bud!
You know it’s thursday when you it’s wesnday !!! Heal yeah brother!
Also the quality, consistency and talent for a channel this size is INSANE. Always feel like I’m watching a 1Mil + production channel.
this is the riff thats stuck in my head the most
Damn!! This is one of your sickest riffs bro. One of my favs for sure at least.
I was wanting an episode but realised it was only Wednesday. So this is a godsend
same dude
daaaaaannngg! simple but super effective! fav one so far!
That dissonance effect is KILLER. Reminds me of some pitch-bendy unisoned dubstep stuff.
This reminds me of the band LUNE a lot!!
Loving it
Can't explain how much I appreciate and love these videos. Recording and song writing has always been a daunting task. I'm starting to understand things better with Logic and writing in general. The parts where you add something on top of a track instead of starting another new track blew my mind the first time I saw it. lol
Thick riff Thuwednesday
Dissonance is love
this is perhaps the single best one you've done imo
Dude! Such a masterpiece 🤘
More songs like this.
this is insane, i love it
This has without a doubt become my favorite series on YT since I found your channel the other day
Yess, collection of thick riffs is what we're all expected!
Absolutely crazy effect on that lead. I will most definitely be stealing that.
I absolutely love the style you’ve carved out for yourself. It would be awesome to do a video on the chord voicings you like to use and how you approach arpeggios / modes / scales
Fast forward 10 years and Nick is producing the biggest acts in metal.
Really appreciate you name-dropping the Eurobass MIDI triggers since I've just picked it up and still trying to memorize them. Always killing it!!!
Also that lead is so gooooooood, this absolutely needs to be arranged into a full track
Happy Thanksgiving Nick!
When the riff goes wah wah, my heart goes 💥
I especially love this one this week. Awesome stuff
Ur goat nick 🙏🏼
Today is wednesday
Um, actually, today is monday my guy.
@@omnomnom504what? No, it's Saturday man.
@@ldoubleprime1654no it's Monday.
@@ldoubleprime1654the other two are right, it’s def monday
Its literally wednesday today Guys...
Loving the thick riffs brother! I enjoy watching the process and hearing your thoughts.
you successfully drove me from TikTok to follow your RUclips channel! well done... love you stuff man.
Mick would be proud
When I think of the use of a Whammy pedal my mind always goes to Vildhjarta or Humanity's Last Breath...that kind of midi controlled insanity. The way you're using it here is pretty awesome and, I think, unique 👍
Dude your gonna easily blow up, keep making the banger vids
My brain just reassembles this riff in 9/8 time, somehow I wanna hear the second slide go back to the first note before going into the chugg. Give the people their odd time Nick!
This might be the thiccest riff yet.
Got big “The Saw Is The Law” era Whitechapel vibes from that rhythm guitar in the best way.
single coil heaven is just so good dude
its ok you posted wednesday, its thursday in australia so it all lines up somewhere
Here's me hoping for him to do a mixing tutorial soon
Couldn't help but feel the lead was a little Sweet child of Mine-y 😂😂 Sure is thick tho
its "sick child of mine"
Nice find here and great video production. Keep goin Nick.
love this riff
What a groove 🔥🔥🔥
This riff is a VIBE! One of my favourites so far! Wondered if you ever thought of using Archetype Rabea to get some of the synth tones as well? Some of the sounds he gets from his plugin are INSANE
call it thicksgiving
Today is Tuesday
You just opened my eyes to a technique with my Whammy DT that I never even considered. And showed me that Archetype: Nolly can be just as much of a djent machine (I'm sorry, I couldn't think of anything else to describe it better) as Gojira!
Happy Thick Turkey Wednesday my Niiiib!!! Mick Gordon would be so proud of that riff my maaan, enjoy your Thanksgiving tomorrow my dude, God bless you with a lot of pumpkin pie! 🖤
ngl, I loved the whammy-infused deathcoreish/death metal nasty dissonant riff more, but this sounds extremely awesome as well.
could you make another video with the whammyfied version too please ?:)
I think we need a Full Song Friday
man this reminds me of intro of whitechapel - saw is the law riff
We need more argent Metal
I really love ur stuff!
6:53 for some reason reminds me of some of the dissonant stuff that’s in the early VoM stuff. Really cool
This riff is nuts! I'm glad I'm not the only one who got DOOM vibes.
Your channel is top tier for guitar and production.. gaming channel would be pretty cool as well
nicely done
The guitar tone reminds me of forced entry by leprous
Definitely glad i found this channel could do some videos on IRs and mixing them? Thanks
Release this as a template!
DOOM VIBES BABYYY
Will be picking up ur template soon! As someone who has been pursuing composing for media for a while I have had enough of making templates haha
Bro found THALL
this shit is thicker than oatmeal
The rhythm sounded better with the whammy pedal, gave it a Gojira vibe.
Bro.. that shet SHLAPS!
I just wanna put on a windbreaker and start swimming through the pit!
that dissonant lead reminds me of older Veil Of Maya
CHUGS
kinda reminds me of I, Dementia by Whitechapel
Nick if you haven't heard of the game Metal Hellsinger, you should absolutely check it out. I think you would love it. It's like if Guitar Hero and Doom had a baby, you fight through the seven levels of hell, original soundtrack with some absolute legends on the tracks
makes me think of Ragnarok by Periphery a little
Sick! Man what drums do you use here? they sound so phat! or is it tools you use after the vst?
Thanks! I'm using GGD PV!
bro discovered microtonality
sounds like the interval is a bit more than a quarter step
Girth Brooks
6:09 how do you force legato!?
Hey what is the keyboard thing you’re using for programming drums ? - I want to be able to fast track my writing rather than clicking with my mouse 😂
Honest question like how do you do it like I have a digitech whammy and I’d love to get this sound what setting dose it have to be on?
how do you get no latency while using all those virtual instruments?? Are you only using the sound from the plugins and using no vst? (compressors, eq, etc..) Im using an axe-fx 2 for interface and cant lower latency enough to play live parts for bass, drums and synths...
periphery af actually I take it back. Its like Periphery and Mick Gordon had a baby!
Hey Nick, curious how you pick which 8 to play in any given moment. Do you have them all tuned differently? If so, to what?
:)
I'd like to know that two.. I think there are 3 different Kiesel 8 strings 🤯
I'm not sure of how much Norwegian Black Metal you're into, but that kind of dissonance is prominent.
yea this riff is gross!
Watching this is just like, "oh no wonder every band is overproduced and has too many moving parts, they're just messing around and having fun." And that's fine, making music should be fun, I just don't get the appeal of something you can't accurately recreate live without prerecorded instrument parts going through the PA.
When you started with the synth, that combined with the slightly off doubled notes made me think of Cyberpunk 2077 immediately. Love it.
I got the same Vader. So did you get different pups or factory
Little band you may never heard of called “limp bizkit” has a few riff gems that do this
Simple yet mighty! 100 Points to Riffindor
This song sounds like a gay bachelor party.
Riff thicker than grandmas mashed potatoes
I love this split screen layout! nice man, its awesome to teach myself some of the techniques and workflow you are doing
Nick I'm so glad you've released these TRT on Spotify! Now I can listen to them on repeat without having to reload videos! They sound absolutely fantastic!
this may be my favorite thick riff thursday riff yet
Petes were missed
Someone tell me. Is it on spotify?
i just know the moment bass gets added to that starting riff, its going to be THE thick riff of thursdays
I WAS RIGHT LOL, THIS IS *THE* THICKEST OF THE THICK RIFFS EVERRRRRRRRR
Happy late Thanksgiving bro! The youtube Algo finally blessed me with a Thick riff recommendation! Btw you need more minor 2nds
It's already thursday moring, that's okay!😄
Very Veil of Maya (id) era, I love it. They always had interesting lead guitars like that.
The keyboard part is INSANE
nice man, made me install doom eternal again just for the chonknessssss
I had the track on loop and forced my girlfriend to “goth at the rave party” dance with me; that synth lead hit the good spots.
Thickiest riff of the series 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Awesome stuff. Keep it up. Cheers
