To everyone screaming "I DON'T WANT TO PAY FOR OTHER PEOPLE REEEE" Bro does not know what a social safety net is. Bro does NOT understand the pooling of resources. Homie does not COMPREHEND everyone else is covering you you're not "paying for someone else"
Also, isn't it the case that you're still paying for someone else? Whenever insurance does provide money, it comes from resources pooled up from its userbase-so the cost is socialized anyway. You're just adding extra steps, degrading public health workers (with insurance back-and-forths), and wasting a ton of money that could have been used to save people instead of pay for a yacht. It's not that private healthcare cannot exist, but it's regulated everywhere else to normative standards. For example, in my country, monthly extra insurance costs anywhere from five to 37 euros. The price ranges so much because privatized healthcare charges extra based on age brackets. The national option charges a flat fee (7,30€ first month, second onwards 7,29€ if you pay in monthly installments; full annual cost is 111,49€) because it does not discriminate based on age. I simply use the government healthcare because I frankly don't use it much even if I could get better deals elsewhere. Although it's pretty cool for us, there are a lot of people attending the hospital (yeah, I mean this) several times a month, even more than once a week because it's free! Hospitals get super crowded, doctors get wild (except those who work at private systems), and doctor's service feels poor sometimes.

@brasilamericano also free access to universities/college, and much cheaper public transportation everywhere, and many social programs that changed the lives of thousands or millions, and insurance in case of losing your job, and job rights which many states in the US dont have, etc etc
@@brasilamericano untrue. We have public free universities that are recognized by the whole world and are in the ranking of the best Universisties. We also have many social and economic programs that help with various things, and better labor laws
In their wildest dreams, let's not forget they have third world conditions, in many areas, this was a happening once in a lifetime, they didn't show the filthy conditions in some public hospitals .
Respect to you Brazil for being good at the save time for having this good people ❤
Brazilian government:
We got that kidney you wanted
Guy:
But I’m on a mountain
Brazilian government:
Be there in 5 be ready
Guy:
But I’m broke
Brazilian government:
It’s on me
I hope the next in line person also got a kidney eventually!
Would never happen in America. They would let you die.
no they would put the kidney on e-bay and sell it to the highest bidder
Good
@@leif12345 This ladies and gentlemen, is selfishness incarnate.
Look, I don't care if you're caught up in some damnable culture war, running around writing rubbish like this is just stupid.
@@danielharvison7510 Or, you know, writing “Would never happen in America. They would let you die,” is just stupid.
@@leif12345 Hey, you wrote what you wrote. The OP's post is on them, yours is on you and you alone.
Besides, I'm not sure they're actually wrong.
Helicopter for health care are pretty common not just in Europe and Asia … but in almost every country (except of course the US) … that’s why you can see helicopter in Major Hospital in Europe going in and out (and of course most if not all are free for the patient).
For emergencies, but deliberately going to some remote place when on a transplant list makes it seem more like an uber ride.
@@Cheepchipsable that was a firefighter's helicopter. If your child is missing they go looking for it, if there is a fire, they try to kill it and if there is someone with a medical condition needing quick transportation they will surely do it.
For free?!? That would put an American in generational debt!
American's health service has been real quite after this dropped 💀💀💀😂😂😊
Such a heartwarming story ❤
The firefighters, the doctors all need a pay raise. congratulations on the transplant Roberto my guy!
W health care system
He chose to climb a mountain knowing he was on the list, and it cost the taxpayer tens of, probably hundreds of thousands of dollars.
@@xenn4985? what makes you comment on every section? are you seeking attention
@@tPlayerioT i am very mad at you people for being so dumb and acting like this is a good thing. This is literally a horror story for the public. Rich guy with enough free time to climb mountains uses poor peoples tax money to pay for his dumb choice.
@@xenn4985Correct mate👍
@@xenn4985 everyone can climb a montain once they get a free time. Whats your point? he also needed to wait 9 years. What makes you think he is rich?
In America they'd charge him a kidney for that
"We gave you a new kidney, and now that it's healthy enough, you can use it to pay your bill"
One like for Brazilian Govts Health Department
In the meanwhile millions of Brazilian people live in favela's, trying to survive on $30 a month. But hey this one guy was saved for free, idk something smells fishy about this story.
Edit: Now I got my context, so you all say he waited over 9 years, well okay then!
original: What the fuck?
1. He got priority despite of doing physical task taxing on body and immune,
2. He was not maintaining close distance from hospital for immediate surgery
3. If he could do physical excercise like rock climbing and walking in stranded lands, how is he evn priority?
Definitely i need more context, becuz priority don't work at will of person and person needs to be available for the priority.
He didn’t get priority, he waited 9 years on the list, hundreds to thousands of more urgent cases passed him over in that time.
He is actually a mountain guide, so this his his job, he was working and earning a living.
Also, this trail is not very far off civilization, is a roughly 30km hike between two cities near Rio de Janeiro, it can be completed in 1 day but usually is done in three due to the rough terrain and few technical spots, but still very close to hospitals.
You really would waste your 9 years of life doing nothing??? xD
Americans be like "whats public health care?"
Bravo Brazil!
Brazilian here, never heard about this story but its nuts, anyways, this guy probably had a health plan.
If you believe for one single second that this guy wasn't filthy rich then you don't know how the world operates.
Covered by the healthcare system. U.S. citizens couldn't fathom this
Idk how to feel about this. Waiting for a kidney but playing mountain climber which is an extreme sport btw, so you become unreachable. Wtf
Exactly. Do we go with the mountain climber or the guy orbiting the hospital?
He wasn’t playing, that’s his job
Brazil W
there is no fucking way they give a kidney away on a four hour notice. lmao.
That's just beyond amazing and if Brazil can do that then certainly the United States of America and all other G7 countries should be able to do that.
So even the Brazilian healthcare ststem is better than the US 😂
Americans, you could have this. You just need to fight for it.
this would never happen in the us, and if it did the patient would be in serious debt
Go brazil. America would be like" yeah so we're gonna need the rest of your organs if you want us to pick you up in a helicopter"😂
First
Accept it americans, public healthcare is just better
i dont think u will find any of us American saying our way is better bro, who are u fighting against 😭
but most americans want it, blame the politicians
Brazil 3rd world country US 4th world country
This would literally cost about a million dollars in America, maybe more.
Dude, I'm Brazilian and never knew about this until I watched your video! And yeah, we have here a public health system spread to the whole country, which makes most Brazilians never worry about health insurance (like me). Although it's pretty cool for us, there are a lot of people attending the hospital (yeah, I mean this) several times a month, even more than once a week because it's free! Hospitals get super crowded, doctors get wild (except those who work at private systems), and doctor's service feels poor sometimes.
A shining example of how _tertible_ socialized medicine is. 🤣 [/s]
I would like to know who exactly this guy was. "The firefighters knew how much he need this transplant." How? Please don't expect this reaction if you are on a transplant list. The hospital WILL move to the next person on the list 🙏
Damn. Here in America we just have to deal with it.
Its like a similar story where the US air force carried a human organ with the f111 and flew it at mach jesus to deliver it as fast as they can
Imagine how the other person that needed the kidney would react 💀
And in the united states, you drive your own car to them for a basic check up and get charged hundreds of dollars
Hiking doesn't seem like a thing those in desperate need of a kidney would do
American health care system: "Alright, you want us to take the other kidney while we in there so you can have a change of paying of your debt in your life time?"
Do you really need a kidney if you can wait 9 years, and hike to heaven?
Blud is hiking 8000feet high but needed a kidney for 9years???
Yes, dialysis is for free here, too. He probably got 9 years waiting because he had enough health to not be urgent. The problem was that if he lost that opportunity, as someone who isn't a priority for transplant, he would have to await another undefined long time again.
The other patient watching this 💀
Stage 3 kidney disease here....Amen ❤❤❤❤
feel bad for the one who would have received it if he didnt make it in time😢
yeah notice how it wasn't America!
Americans after hearing the last sentence...
freee is such an underrated happy song
Awww glad he got back transplant
The next person in line : 😮😮😮😮😢😢😢😭😭😭😭😭
Cool story until the propaganda at the end.
Its a zero sum game. Someone else would have got the kidney. Either way someone would have been saved. My guess is he was probably connected
He waited 9 years ya idiot. Pretty sure a lot of people got it before him, and plus, if he really was conected, he wouldnt have to wait such a time! Actually use your brain for once please.
Meanwhile some kid without that transplant: 😢
transplant line is there. It is the fairest it can be.
This is what humanity is about ❤️
Dawg what type of wifi is he using 😭🙏
Like if you knew that that wasn't US👇 health care 🚨
Damn, no button where the '👇' is
they couldt wait a few hours until he came then give it but instead they took a helicopter to get him on time
That's the summary of the story, yes...
You hear that, Americans?
