Cartess, I stopped watching the news months ago. I've also realized that at age 71, there is noting I can do about the state of the union, nor am I going to do anything about the state of the union. As George Galloway said: "it doesnt matter which side of the Uniparty Duopoly you vote for, because they are the two sides of the same ASS!" Until the oppressive voter access laws are struck down by the SCOTUS, which will breakup the Uniparty Duopoly, then nothing changes. Nothing improves. Moreover, I wouldn't be surprised if the Trump organization is behind that nonsense. I'm back in Merida for a couple months to get a better feel for Merida, Yucatan, and for immersive Spanish language classes at CALLE SPANISH SCHOOL. Today I rode the AutoProgreso bus from Centro to Progreso and enjoyed the day people watching. I returned around 5pm to rest a bit before heading out to Parque Santa Lucia area, and it was popping. It reminded me of Atlanta's Buckhead and Midtown districts before the crazies took over. Take care, and be safe.

How is the new election in Mexico going to effect expats? These are things you need to know before up and moving. Research and pray before making a move.

I moved to Mexico a year ago and just renewed my passport by mail (mailed to consulate in Guadalajara). You don’t have to go back to the U.S. before your passport expires. Mine was close to expiration this summer and you just either go to one of the U.S. consulates in Mexico or you can mail your passport renewal paperwork to one of the Mexican consulates that accepts mail applications to get your passport renewed for another 10 years.
