My neighbor Chris Martin dated Rell back in the day. I used to always ask about her. He drowned in Long Beach, Ca a couple years ago. But I remember him saying she cussed like a sailor. She will always be a class act in my books! I remember the impact she had on me the first time I saw her in a video. She said and I quote "I'm so stoked to be a surfer" she said it with such conviction that I was like who is this woman she omits pure aloha.
I remember seeing Rell in videos and mags back in the early 90's. Always wanted to see more. That's so rad that she was so instrumental in cultivating many generations.

We're all growing tired of "fierce" one-track competition, but never tiring of surfing for the love of it all. WSL rewards repetition in the turns, but why is that so valuable in points?
