@@TRPTK Thanks for your reply! Wow! 5 matched set of 4006As!!! That’s for the 5.1 surround recording right? For this stereo version you only use the “Decca” I guess. I used the DPA surround kit for many times, that surround kit is consists with three 4006a and two 4011a. I always use this kit with s5 mount for orchestra surround recording and both 4011a are point to the audiences site, do you use these two 4006a like the same way as my 4011a did? Ty :D
@@tjcai212 Dear TJ Cai, sorry for the late reply. Just saw your response! A matched set of five, yes indeed. That's for the main mics, which go directly into L-R-C-Ls-Rs. For the stereo mix, we use only the L-R pair, sometimes blending in the C channel just a tiny bit to give stability to the stereo image (like a Decca Tree). But in this case that wasn't necessary. We have in fact used your exact combination in a number of occasions as well, but I personally liked the all-4006A combination a bit better, it seemed a bit more coherent that way. That being said, low-frequency buildup is a real thing with a system like that, so it doesn't always work perfectly.

Thank you! We're using 5x DPA 4006A in a custom-matched set as mains, and 2x DPA 4015A as close mikes for violin and cello.
Really nice sound!! Could you tell me what microphones you used for Main Array? Thanks alot!
Thank you so much for your kind words! We use a matched set of five DPA 4006A for our main array (1.2m x 1.2m, with the center 20cm in front).
