    No mas HOA! No fees! Locals, well water, solar panels with generators, modest pool, two car garage enclosure, sky lights, two 🛁 🛀 full size tubs and a half bath for guests, possibly a little casita out back on purchased land, with a reputable architect and builder. A local driver is awesomeness! Local shopping! Modest comfortable soft landing in Merida! Inverted AC in three areas of the five bedroom home and stand up fans throughout. Distressed looking home from street view and peace within!

    More people die from the cold weather than the heat surprising as it is. What you are talking about the heat reminds me of Las Vegas. People move there without trying it out then summer comes and they can not take the heat..Good vidio. Good advise👍🙏💕

      Seriously it happens everywhere! You would think people would at the very least look at a weather report. Same thing would happen in Florida and when I lived in Seattle a similar thing when people would migrate from the warmer South West. But even me when I moved to the Cold at first it was great. It was new and a novelty, but after a few years of bitter cold I couldn't wait to get outta there! Thanks for sharing!

      @@JoseArteagaTravels I lived in Seattle too. Constant Rain. Even when not raining the air was misty and often a lot of fog. The ocean was also freezing. Too cold to enter. They did have beautiful department stores with the best Christmas window decorated window I have ever seen. Also they had a lot of great parades. One of my cousins was a Princess of their big event. She did not make Queen ut she was by far the best looking. She looked just like Grace Kelly the actress that married the French King of Monaco and later died in acar accident

    How do you not research the weather?
    It's so easy to simply add the location to your weather app and check it from day to day.
    Do your research.
    I like bicycling, and it turns out that Merida is actually a pretty good city for that with a lot of bike trails and their Sunday special on Paseo Montejo.
    Find what works for you.
    The heat?
    I've lived in south Florida, and I know hot and humid.
    No problemo.

    What creative ways are the Mexicans dealing with the inflation? I know they are adjusting in some way.

    • @JoseArteagaTravels
      @JoseArteagaTravels  6 месяцев назад

      They don't live in the US 😅 Whoppers and Big Macs still cost $4 Bucks out here not $16 But on a serious Note Mexico is heading in the complete opposite direction than the US. Sure there is inflation but they are making so much more money these days that they barely notice. In fact more of them are now able to afford even more stuff. Great video Jose . . Extra pure virgin Oil is not very good for cooking , it´s mostly for cold recipes (it burns at low temp) . . Lard is healthier for light cooking . . these truths I learned throughout the years, nutrition Doctors have changed narratives . . the truths about fat and nutrition have updated . . I know you are a cook and knowledgeable (lol) . . greetings

      Well when I cook with Olive Oil I do it mainly for flavor. Most of the Mediterranean region uses it daily to cook. Certain dishes just wont come out the same with pork fat and other fats. Olive Oil is also an integral indgredient in Cuban Cooking. Even though we use tons of Lard there is no subsitute for the flavor of Olive Oil. I know what you are saying isn't wrong but who can argue with hundreds of years culinary knowledge? Again I use it mainly for flavor. I do not use any kind of processed oils. I only Use Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Lard, and sometimes beef fat. Olive oil might not the wisest choice in the opinions of many people out there for the reasons you mentioned, but thats not the only reason I use it. Again just ask any Italian or Spanish Grandma to see what they will tell you. 😅 Thanks again for sharing!

      @@JoseArteagaTravels I love Olive Oil in many recipes... But have always had a dislike for the "taste" and saturation of Lard for some reason... Then I discovered COCONUT OIL!! YAY! Most dishes that recommend lard can be switched out to extra virgin coconut oil and I love the flavor! Everyone has their favs!!

      @ej1692 6 месяцев назад

      @@JoseArteagaTravels Agreed. I'm slighty skeptical about the whole olive oil burns and turns sour from cooking thing. How? Tell that to Portuguese, Spanish and Italian's some of which are notorious for having a long life expectancy.

      @jeffokriya3389 6 месяцев назад

      @@dianaj3139 Coconut oil is also very healthy. . used for many other nutrition purposes . . but . . like Extra Pure Olive Virgin oil, it burns at low temp. . if you cook with it you will be eating burnt material . . (not very healthy) and corn oils like Canola won´t burn easily . . totally usable for cooking but nutrition professionals say its bad for your health because of the triglycerides, clogs arteries etc On the other hand pork Lard resists high cooking temp without degrading . . consume with moderation of course
