That 79 Honda CBX was spectacular!!

Not as smooth as a Goldwing right? I love the look and sound of a CBX but I always thought the engine overwhelmed chassis a little too much.

@@flatcapcaferacer I have never been on one, but it’s a looker for sure! Not sure there is another bike out there as smooth as a Goldwing, but I might be a bit biased!😂😂

Thanks for sharing the motorbikes, all of these I would never have ever seen, the Honda 350 Four reminded me of my Honda 550 k3 which I owned in the 80s Cheers

My old buddy who passed many years ago had a series of CB350s twins then the 350 Four and finally the 500 four. A few years ago my 80 year old neighbor let me purchase almost new 1976 Honda 550 with 3000 miles on it. It was a beauty. In fact I rode down to this same show and asked if I could park it inside because it was raining.
They insisted that I enter it and it won the best in show that year. I think a couple years later another competitor bought it from me at the show.

Wow Jerry you showed us some real old racers and classics, there were a lot to love there but there's always been a soft spot in my heart for the CBX

Michael the owner of this bike had a ton of stories and history to go along with it. I recorded much of it but I'm not sure if I'll make a video from it yet.

Man, I love these videos at shows! If I had that Kawasaki 900 or even the Honda 350 four, I could be happy. But there was an old BMW in there I liked the most...a 55 I think. Looked like you could go around the world in style on it

Roger the best thing about that outstanding sidecar rig was the young owner. He brought several award winning BMWs last year. He said a lady made a left hand turn in front of him on one of those award winning bikes from last year and crushed the bike and he had a titanium plate in his arm.

As a piece of almost over the top engineering, the CBX 1000 is a special machine.
Some of the highly polished machines that are more shiney than they were new. They look amazing, but I think I prefer bikes that look like they are ridden.
I do like how the bikes are spaced out to allow walk around (and filming)
A favourite...... I like them all.

I'd say less than 10% of the classics were licensed and of course none of the off road or race bikes were licensed but may still be ridden. Unfortunately too many owners are reluctant to ride them regularly. I agree with your thinking.

I started this thinking I'm going to pick a favourite but ended up not know which one!.
The first BMW was my fav, I have a soft spot for them. The Matisse read nice, the Harley sportster was one id like to try, heck of a line up, but yes all the boxers were my favourite.... And the CBX.
    I need more money 🎉🎉

The first BMW belongs to a racing buddy Fred. He used to own the local BMW shop before he retired. Hopefully I'll get some pictures of him at Bonneville this year. Actually, I would like to own a R90S, that R27 or that 1955 sidecar. But I'm a retiree and my only hope is the lottery.

Thanks for taking us for a look around the show, some stunning bikes there, why do they all have a little red cup with each bike?

    • @flatcapcaferacer
      @flatcapcaferacer  5 месяцев назад +1

If you don't like the bike you spit in the cup! Naw just kidding. The people get a ticket when they come in and they can vote for their favorite by putting their ticket in the red cup. They collect them and the bikes with the most tickets is the winner of the "Peoples Choice" award.
