- I colorized, restored and applied face restoration and created a sound design for this video of PARIS (1918-1919) after the First World War, we have street scenes at the Champs Elysees and the Arc de Triomphe. We can also see the celebrations of the people and what happens during the day.
Video Restoration Process:
✔ FPS boosted to 60 frames per second
✔ Image resolution boosted up to HD
✔ Improved video sharpness and brightness
✔ Colorized only for the ambiance (not historically accurate)
✔added sound only for the ambiance
✔restoration:(stabilisation,denoise,cleand,deblur)
Please, be aware that colorization colors are not real and fake, colorization was made only for the ambiance and do not represent real historical data.

Appreciate your work Nass! You take us to another time!
@@jackoo99 thank you
This is amazing! What an excellent restoration job you did here NASS! I know how painstaking it is to make videos like these, especially with the audio. Nice work.
thank you my friend
Yeah how does the audio even work? I assume the original footage had no audio.
@@bernhardbrodowsky3261 Lot's of meticulous searching for sound effects and then audio design/ editing. It takes forever and isn't fun, especially trying to match everything up so it seams realistic.
Wow😮
Keep them coming, extremely interesting and impressive.
thank you very much
ya white built America show it
I watch these amazing restorations and think how will those a hundred years from now view us. Just like this?
thank you very much ;)
Amazing! Beautiful restoration of a special moment in history. Clearly WW1 has ended and Paris proudly displays captured German artillery pieces by the dozens in the middle of the city. Crowds gather to see the very guns that were used against their countrymen. At one point one can see two visiting American sailors accompanied by an American soldier ("doughboy") as they check out Paris. A glimpse of people long gone, of a world we can only read about now.
thank you
Yes, I spotted an ANZAC soldier as well, wearing their distinctive hat.
I really enjoy these reprocessed videos.
@@NASS_0 there's a guy on tiktok using your edits, I seen them earlier and then remembered your channel
Ya and who reads anymore
Wonderful work, love your time travels. Bit puzzled by the title though, WWI ended in 1918.
I believe 1919 was in the 1910s decade...Where's the puzzle ?
@@jayzee9149 theres only 1 year in 1910s post ww1,, why dont just write it with 1919 then? Its just dumb
A very well done restoration. Seeing all the automobiles vying for a piece of the roadway in an intricate game of dodgem was interesting. All the old ornate buildings, the ferris wheel and Eiffel Tower from the 1900 Paris Exposition were icing on the cake. Watching the young boy having fun rotating the elevation wheel on the cannon at 3:00 made me wonder if, by 1939, he, like thousands of other young men, would have been drafted into the French Army when France declared war on Germany. The war to end all wars lasted a bit less that 20 years before it started all over again. Thanks for all your efforts and I look forward to your next video.
You are correct that there was a world exhibition in 1900 in Paris, but afaik the Eiffel tower was from the previous one in 1889.
Puissant quand même. Une vraie machine à remonter le temps. A la fois émouvant et fascinant. Bravo.
Beautiful job, Nass! ❤
this is a very great job! Thank you
Awesome work NASS!
and all those people are long gone even the children, some would have to go through the horror of the next war, great video
Thank you ♥ I love the Architektur and the flair in this time
Wow look at the buildings. So much detail in them. I love those cars.
Always amazing :-) thank you for uploading

thank you very much
Absolutely love this and not only that this is a great way to teach history
Your making a time machine my friend
Keep up the good work
With ALL the videos NASS has done, I'm surprised there hasn't been just one to take us behind the scenes of the editing workflow. I'd bet many people would be interested to see the process.
That would be cool but then NASS would giving away trade secrets
Maravilloso!! Gracias!!
Incredible work.
Awesome video! I love the Nass time machine!
It’s hard to imagine, that many of that generation went through both WWI and WWII, with the Great Depression between the two.
Jaw dropping images! Look at all those cannons, biplanes and an amazing amount of cars out in 1910. Loved seeing the architeture and of course the people! Thx NASS. Will share and watch this more than once ! ❤
thank you
It's likely winter 1918-spring 1919. The war just ended.
Yeah more cars than I expected. Could it possibly be because it's a celebration?
anybody see that black line down the screen, well that's from the film when they put it in the recorder, man, wow, just an amazing video, keep em coming
thank you ;)
Would of been cool to talk to some people but this as always is amazing.
Nice Video 👍 So Beautiful Thanks NASS
thank you very much ;)

Great video..We love the old cars 🚗..
Looks like there are a bunch of Renault taxis running around in the first couple of minutes of the video.

Sehr gut!
juste incroyable de beauté
Thank you very much.. 💐
Amazing the number of people who were able to affored cars! The streets were somewhat crowded already!
Those times, huh? What’d you imagine yourself be doing if you had the chance to return to that time for some time?
There was this movie in which a man gets the chance to return to early 20th century and guess what he eventually decided to do…. Yup, you guessed right! He stayed there. 😊
Let me know if you wish to know which movie! 👋🏻☺️
Yes which movie?!😊😊😊
Well there was a TV series about time travel , he went back and stayed there for many years.
@@northwinterfilms5048 Hey there! I was never informed of your reply and just discovered it by accident.. the movie which is a tv movie is entitled For All Time starring Mark Harmon. Enjoy 👋🏻

I just had a question, are the audios in the videos original? Like are they from the recording? Either way these videos are fascinating!
No, unfortunately there was no way of recording sound on film until the late 1920s.
beau travail
10:02 Palais du Trocadéro was built for the 1878 Exposition Universelle and destroyed in 1935.
The world remains the same. People change from time to time.
Toujours aussi fascinant
So so cool. Thanks. If I could make a suggestion, I would punch up the colors to match more modern film saturations. You can't reproduce on film what the eye sees in terms of depth of shadow and light and saturation... but you can come closer to modern film standards ... which increases the feeling of watching something that could have happened yesterday. The sound scapes are great.
thank you very much
Nice.
Hermoso el video !!!!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩
thank you very much
@@NASS_0 😘
Magnifique 👍
Merci beaucoup 👍
Did you spot all the young men and boys following the cameraman? Like they somehow knew they would be filmed and I guess silent movies at cinemas been around for maybe 10 years when this was shot.
Has the sun ever been filmed in these vintage videos?
Another time capsule. So unexpected to ever see. WOW!!!
Wow 👍👏👏👏👏🇨🇭
Little did they know as a new technology captures their image, they watch in amazement, wonder and confusion, for in 21st century, millions of people would be watching them on RUclips.
Just a couple of questions. Where are electricity polls and cables, and how are roads and sidewalk so smoooooth?
There still are alive quite a few people who have been born even before the decade here shown.
So late 1918 at the earliest
I will never get used to people just crossing the streets and driving randomly. It's very amusing. But wow what amazing footage of the leftovers of war.
Really amazing!!
Is funny see children run and look at camera, like something strange and totally new.
thank you very much
❤
Vraiment superbe.
Merci ;)
I also was thinking. WWI ended 1918. The Treaty of Versailles wasn’t signed until June 1919…so that could have been the reason for displaying all the artillery pieces..especially in a lot of scenes people were using umbrellas to shade themselves.
time moving so fast it already a million years in future you just don't know it, anyone know what i mean you super smart
Apologies if this has been asked many times before, but why are the people staring at the camera? Did it look particularly out of place, what kind of camera was it, etc?
They were huge sitting high on on trucks - impossible to miss. Most people knew what they were. And like today everyone wants to be filmed - well, most people seem to, anyway.
Historic. !!!!

Amazing but also kind of sad.
Sometimes when I need to temporarily escape from this insane age we are all living in I come to NASS.
👏👏👍👍
So they had video recorders back then? And someone was in the street using one, and people are not batting an eye?
Waiting video about Paris 1800s

Amazing view of a huge structure from under the Eiffel Tower at 10:24. This structure no longer appears from under the tower and is gone! Does anyone know the name of this building?
Palais du Trocadéro.

192nd decade (1911-1920)
At 2:28, the very tall French soldier walking along with his comrades makes me think of a young Charles De Gaulle.
quel est ce lieu à 10.05, ce bâtiment?
Le palais du Trocadéro
Maybe "1910s - Paris BEFORE World War I" as it has started in 1914
WW 1 was from 1914 to 1918. So this would be in 1919?
The "Lost Generation".
