I finally finished my 2014 LTZ. I went with the Stinger Heigh10, PAC Radio Pro RP5-GM51, TOS Link Optical to the back into a Helix Untra DSP, D'Amore Engineering E400.4, E700.4, and E1000.1. JL 13.5" sub and all Audio From Drivers.
I have a 2015 Silverado 1500. Converted the front to a 2016 and that was a lot of work and I told myself my I wouldn’t touch the interior but dam that looks good man !! Looks like I got another project to do 😂 thanks bro for the video !

It didn't auto update, but I did check for updates when I connected to wifi, none needed.

Matt great video, I am really interested in this for my 15 Silverado 1500 since the middle of my touch screen isn't functioning and I want to have Android auto since my current system does not have it. I would like to see you do a replacement of the backup camera as well.

It seems pricey but if it works flawlessly it’s worth it 100%. I spent about $400 on my first android headunit and it crashed and was buggy 7 days out of the week. It looks amazing!!

Awesome video. Very interested in possibly doing this to my ‘15 Denali. My only concern is the green accent lighting. The GMC trucks have red lighting instead of the green (used to have a 15 Chevy duramax too with the green). Is that accent lighting color adjustable? Thanks in advance and thanks for sharing. No downsides with mine, works great! Wireless Carplay and Android Auto.

Any options for front cameras to this display or to the factory display so I can see my kids that might be playing in front of my truck? This truck sits up too high too see small children or cats and dogs or other obstacles that might be in your front pathway, I have the 2015 Silverado 2500HD LML Duramax LTZ Z71 same cab as yours just no sunroof. Love your content and that's why I subscribed!
First off Great Video: I think it's a super clean install and maybe I have to get rid of my CD's lol because I really like it. My only concern would be I have read the tablet thingy is an older system and wish there was an optional upgrade to get a newer tablet (not a comp guy but understand some). I do hope in say 6 months you do an update on it with pros & cons Though price has dropped, few yrs ago GM wanted to charge me something like $300 to do a map update which i told them to kick rocks. I mainly use my phone but as I said to GM I do have a Garmin I spent say $150 on it has free traffic & updates for life yet top of the line Chevy doesn't.
One question how is the Bluetooth connection? For some reason every now and than my stock one won't connect. So add that to other crap you mentioned has me thinking about this setup. Though not an Apple user
Though I'm personally not a fan of newer Chevys(can't wait to see 24 GMC 2500 in person). I do think this truck and whatever you do may and/or hopefully get more views because with current climate alot of people are either buying or keeping older trucks. Though mine is a baby(1500) it does have the 6.2L Gas(if i had the $$$ I have looked at super charger) . When I priced out a new or newer truck in 2020 I couldn't justify getting a newer truck, now forget prices lately that's if you can get one.
Though I think the side pocket is actually clean option, not sure if you thought of it but was thinking, though could be a complete pita but if you replaced the 2 USB ports inside the center console b/c console is already notched out for cord management. Not sure if you need it but console vaults work well.
Lastly besides getting my sub, if you need any ideas though I haven't finished upgrading mine(fun money has gone to other peojects) but will say best upgrades (besides radio) Morimoto XB Headlights originally did HID which worked but these are worth the money, when I got it in 17 with stock projectors HID worked well! Was on fence of getting them color matched even though I trust those that do them I have really really bad luck and was afraid there would be and issue, I do have XB Fogs & blacked out xb taillights as well. But will say the new Alpha-Rex Tails look sort of interesting in a good way. Not only lights are unique design(not normal gm tail shape) but the amber switch backs do make them stand out.

Thank you! The Bluetooth has worked perfectly so far. I do want bulit headlights, but I need to get everything else wrapped up on the maintenance / fixing list first, plus some performance stuff.
I been using this one on my 2015 sierra 2500HD for one year+ now.
Only issue I have is that sometimes the screen doesn't turn on but still play the sound, just press the reset button and it will turn on right away.
They also sell a small TV box on their website so you can watch your local channels on it.
Also ask them to send you the latest software Update to unlock new features, they will not send you the updates if you don't ask for them.
Do you have the option to put the GMC Sierra logo on the unit or is it defaulted to a Silverado? I also own a 2015 GMC Sierra diesel. Thanks
Mine comes with the GMC logo already installed, but with the image of a Silverado. There is a video with the procedure to change all of that.

Ive watched other videos of people installing similar radios, do you have to do anything with GPS or does that also work off the truck like stock?
Love that screen. I wonder if they are going to make one for the 2019 and above silverados.

Hi Matt, have you looked at wireless apple carplay adapters so you can remove the need for cables? Just plug the adapter into the usb and good to go. I got one from Amazon for around $100 for my 2020 Volvo XC60 and it’s worked flawlessly for over a year now

Actually after making this video I discovered the unit has built in wireless CarPlay lol.

That’s awesome. I just purchased a 2015 Silverado 2500HD LT 6.0 gas and the one thing that I miss from my ‘21 RAM is the screen/phone connectivity. Does this screen have a warranty? What part of PA are you in? If I get one, I may have to look you up for help lol.

I know you went over the brightness, but does the dimmer dial on the panel left of the steering wheel still dim or brighten it? Also how does the zone control work with out the dials?
The dimmer doesn't dim it, but it does auto dim. I'm not sure if it's based on the headlights coming on or some sensor. The climate works with the right dial, or you can use the touch screen to change all the settings.

Hey Matt, I wonder about the impact resistance of the screen? Cause because is a larger surface looks easier to get hit by a object by accident and crack the screen. Did u experience anything like that??

As attractive as a unit like this is to me, I'm a geek/long time Android user and especially with the customization and add-on capabilities; one of my biggest turn offs is how old of a version of Android they run these on. This unit is 3, almost 4, Major OS version behind. Being 1 or 2 major version behind is ok, you can usually find a really good stability level this way. Being almost 4 behind mean this unit will, sooner than later, likely stop getting major os updates. Then app compatibility and stability starts going down the drain as well. I guess, if you don't plan to keep the truck for more than a few years, it doesn't really matter. Or, you are ok with replace the unit in 2-4 years. It's a huge internal battle for me. I have a 2015.5 GMC 2500HD diesel and a unit like this could let me integrate most all of the add-on's I use regularly when towing; trailer backup/observation camera, hitch camera, tire pressure monitoring, ect. I just don't trust the long term reliability.

Same with OEM updates so to me it's apples to apples in update comparison... regardless don't imagine you would loose to many apps from lack of updates .

@@jasonhanus1115 great point, factory is vastly behind too I never understood why android auto tech is soo far behind deff should be something a manufacturer should be on top of if not have they're own division with say top manufacturers like pioneer should have a division w/apple Android etc

Oh yes it does. How the heck are they able to just mirror the oem radio when stinger makes you rip it out.

We swapped one in my buddys 4th gen Cummins ( looks like a 5th gen ) definitely took a bunch of time to get everything dialed in. Now it runs good, only “issue” is the initial start up time is prolly twice as long as yours was. Good 15seconds before you can use anything on the screen. Which kinda sucks but overall it’s still way worth it. If they added the option to update the software it’d be basically perfect. Imho
Mine is the fast boot version, maybe that’s why.
Does yours do 3 chimes a few second after it starts up? I’m not sure if there’s a way I can turn it off or what

Are you able to watch RUclips as you drive? Any issues with anything? Looks a lot easier to install than the electronic folding towing mirrors I just installed lol

Yup steering wheel works. I have the Bose yes. They have a unit for every system type.

Matt did you have any problems with getting the factory UI to show up? I’ve tried all screen parameters and still nothing? Also, is there a trick to getting the rear camera to work? I have the sensors show up but just an all black image.
Nope! Everything worked basically out of the box with a few setting changes.

I believe so, but I use Carplay, which uses maps and music at the same time.

Did I hear you say you did 0 wiring? You didn’t have to wire anything at all except I guess the gps antenna and such? And all factory controls work? Like steering wheel controls and back up camera? Omg I gotta have one like now! It’s been a few months still love it?

Hey, Matt, I'm doing a similar set and was wondering if yours came with a separate adapter for Bose if so which one?
I didn't order anything special, just whatever came with the unit made for my truck options.
When you remote start the truck does the air conditioner features still work without the key in the ignition? And does the factory microphone still work as well?
A/C works just like stock and everything else with remote start. New radio has it's own mic.
Are they’re rca outputs so I could install a subwoofer?

What did it take for your radio to work? I just wired mine up and I have no sound coming from the radio at all. Bluetooth works, air conditioning works but I have no sound. Did you have this issue?
Just plugged it in and it worked. They have decent customer service, give them a call.

Did you have any issues with your Bose amp ? I bought a android head unit few months bak , said it is plug and play and was compatible with my bose system but it ended up not to be compatible. Im into it for about $750 now and still no sound.

Front bumper cam, tailgate cam, rear center bed break light cam, side view mirror cams, and the wireless camera that gets placed behind the trailer you’re towing…. I’d LOVE a larger screen but not if I couldn’t keep my cameras functioning.

It has it's own mic. Stock usb plugs don't work with this unless you do some custom wiring. It has it's own usb that I ran elsewhere.
What did you end up doing to fix the rear camera? I wanna be able to do view my rear camera without putting it into reverse as well how did you do it?
There is an app, just select camera and it turns on.
Just curious, can you still control the dual climate? My wife would kill me if I got a new head unit and deleted her favorite part of the truck.

I'm guessing it fits a 2014. Firmware seems to be able to update easily.

I was about to pull the trigger on the Stinger CHEVY SILVERADO/GMC SIERRA (2014-2018) HEIGH10 10" TOUCHSCREEN RADIO PLUG-AND-PLAY REPLACEMENT KIT.
Now I'm second-guessing my decision.
The HEIGH10 is not compatible with the Bose System so I would have to replace the AMP and speakers.
I have a 2014 Z71 LTZ.
The one that I have is compatible with Bose.
I have the same truck, kind of, it's GMC 14, SLT, so it has the Bose sound and a CD player. And being an older guy, and haveing bunch of CDs, I like to upgrade the display, etc, but keep the CD player, not sure if it's possible. Do you know?

So I am reading horror stories with Phoenix Automotive, did you have any problem with them? Product show up and worked?
No issues with mine. But I also have a newer one now.
I really like the look of these but I was worried about losing my climate control. One thing I would suggest is the you make a gasket for the 3rd brake light because they leak in these truck and your head liner gets stained but o watch a video on RUclips and it was super easy and I never had to worry again
Haven't noticed mine leaking yet, hopefully it's fine. I don't want to mess with what's not broken.

No software upgrades at all, just figuring out the settings to get everything working together.
