That doesnt seem to be a 3D printed gun but instead seams to be a Flobert or blank firing gun modified to shoot really low powered cartridges (like .22 short from what can be seen in the video). There is no way that gun could fire comercial .220 or .223 and much less military NATO standard 5.56 ammo ammo and even less chance of the last 5.56 military ammo (US designation M855A1 and M856A1). I even doubt that it could fire comercially available 9x19mm ammo and even less so the last P++ available versions. So, stop creating false alarms.
It's entirely feasible to print the main components of a gun on a polymer 3d printer, to think otherwise is naive. There's a whole government task force set up to combat this very thing
@@ollyhardy7015 it is very very very difficult to 3D print the pressure bearing components of a gun. And much more difficult when it comes to high pressure munition. Take a look at the gun and the magazine itself. In this particular video, that seems to be a modified blank or Flobert gun rather than a 3D printed one. And by no means I am saying that is not possible to 3D printed a fully functional gun.
@sergiom9958 it honestly depends on the technology used in 3d printing, whether its sls or sla, sls tends to be stronger with a more uniform sinter, also manufactured firearms are usually designed to fire 10000 of rounds where as in general non traceable guns are printed for one task then chucked so in reality may just have to fire a single bullet and at a close enough range where a 0.1mm deviation isn't going to be critical in terms of accuracy (not in regards to stoppages). I'm ex forces and an service engineer for a 3d printing manufacturer. I must add I haven't watched the entire program only the trailer above so guessing they only talk about polymer printers and don't delve into metal 3d printers
What exactly was the point of this video? To showcase an unsafe set of tests on a firearm? What professional lab has such poor safety procedures like standing in front of the muzzle while trying to tie a string to the trigger of a loaded weapon. Ever hear of a Ransom Rest? They only proved that a firearm functioned with "Modified ammo" and that Firearms laws are so stupid and biased towards the uneducated. A firearm is less of a problem than Alcohol and Drugs, especially when a vehicle is involved. Stop with this Hollywood based logic in laws. And stop trying to panic the world for views. It's getting pathetic how the media makes all firearms look evil. One of the most dangerous things for many hundreds of years has been the British government. And the American government is no better. This idiotic waste of money and such needs to stop. Lets focus on trying to become more civil thru education on all things including making anyone accountable for their actions and how they effect others.
The British are such amatures when it comes to guns. The drama lead up to the final shot was funny. It shoots a bullet not a nuclear bomb lol. With a bit of luck thousands of Britons can now get guns for self defense and home protection. Remember, best to be tried by 12 than carried by 6 😮
You can make your own rifled barrels through ECM (running an electrified current through water) and all you need is a fish tank, steel pipe, water, a saline solution, a power source, and a fish tank water fountain. Weapons like the FGC-9 utilize a fire control group that can be sourced from an airsoft gun, or made at home using a spring bending jig, and printed parts. The bolt assembly uses straight blowback, and is mainly printed, as are the receivers. Gun control is dead and we killed it.
I dont say this to be mean, but they testing the weapon like uts some sort of alien artifact is quite silly, haven't they seen the triving community of 3d printed weapon enthusiast in the US ? Those guys fire their weapons in semi automatic like its nothing, of course the gun was gonna be lethal. People acting like plastic is an inferior material have no knowledge of plastics, Kevlar its a plastic and can withstand the inpact of a bullet
I can almost promise you the upper is not 3d printed. You cant print a gun, you can print parts, but the barrel and upper still have to be steel for it to not rip itself apart The pressures bullets exert is enormous, theres a reason plastic guns dont exist, or cant be used more than once. Kevlar cant withstand a knife attack, you can poke right through it An arrow will also pierce it The reason, as i understand it, a kevlar vest stops a bullet is because it can absorb the energy, as its flexible. Its not because of the strength of plastic. Plastic is very weak in comparison to steel, its strength comes in its weight and ability to move.
He's a so called weapons expert and doesn't know that for all intents and purposes, most 3D printed firearms still employ all the steel internals and barrel and breach block.
2024 and we still don't know how firearms work. The gun literally is a fancy device that just pushes a little pin into the back of a bullet. You can't literally make a gun out of rubber bands, a nail, and some wood or PVC for a body. Shooting a bullet isn't hard. Show how long it took to make the weapon. It doesn't happen over night or after one trial of shooting. Actually in most cases they never fire from the first test.
They broke all 4 firearms safety rules to make a video about how illegal firearms are unsafe 😂😂 They’re lucky to have survived because of their own stupidity
This article is very misleading, only frames can be properly printed, triggers, hammers, and other internal parts all brake. This is only a problem in the us where you can buy unregulated parts, like barrels, bolts, bolt carrier groups, etc. Entirely diy 3d printed guns kinda suck tbh, they are fragile, finnicky, and somewhat difficult to get working correctly. Not to mention they still need some gun parts like a trigger group. Although a trigger and hammer can be printed they are very unreliable. The fgc9 proved this, although many improvements have been made, they still kinda suck if you dont have industry made gun parts. To this date there hasn't been a fully diy AR.
There is nothing federally illegal about 3D printing a gun within the United States. Only a handful of authoritarian States regulate the manufacture of firearms for personal use.
There is a reason why we Americans and you British are very different but there’s also a reason why I would still fight for you guys any day. Grow a pair don’t be afraid to be dangerous.

Can they be lethal? For the user, yes. For the intended victim? Occasionally. I've tried this with everything from the .380 "liberator", 9mm, .45, 5.56, and 7.62, and of course, the .22. The .22 guns lasted up to 30 shots before exploding. The .380 had to have the barrel replaced after every shot. The other guns blew up.

Guns that require no gun parts and are 3d printable exist and have for years. They're also quite safe and reliable if built correctly. Cope. The only thing you're showing your expertise on is how behind the curve you are.
why on earth do you not build a steel box and a solenoid actuator to fire it than take such risk? seems insane could blow up
Illegal? Says who? What county are you from?
BBC, the UK. They don't appreciate personal freedom over there or something I guess 🤷
These guys should NOT be working with firearms. Mf put his HEAD in front of the muzzle along with both of them putting their hands in front of it many many times. They also clearly do not understand 3D printing or firearms manufacturing in the slightest. Maybe just leave this to the Americans to study
He checks if gun can withstand blank pressure, stands right next to it and pulls trigger with his own finger😂
Ever heard about string?
What sort of Muppet experts are those? Only ones BBC could afford?😂😂😂
I must add I haven't watched the entire program only the trailer above so guessing they only talk about polymer printers and don't delve into metal 3d printers
that particular gun? i agree. but there are primarily printed guns that are capable of sustained semi automatic fire of 9mm/5.7/22lr/45acp
What is "ballistics soup" and how might we procure some?
Stop selling plastic!!!!
Its a bit of all of it, also plastic weapons will fatigue very quickly vs metal. The issue isnt that its plastic, its plastic of that thickness
I can almost promise you the upper is not 3d printed. You cant print a gun, you can print parts, but the barrel and upper still have to be steel for it to not rip itself apart
The pressures bullets exert is enormous, theres a reason plastic guns dont exist, or cant be used more than once.
Kevlar cant withstand a knife attack, you can poke right through it
An arrow will also pierce it
The reason, as i understand it, a kevlar vest stops a bullet is because it can absorb the energy, as its flexible. Its not because of the strength of plastic. Plastic is very weak in comparison to steel, its strength comes in its weight and ability to move.
Pathetic fear of basic hunting tools
Printing guns is legal in every free country. Nothing to see here
Deary me, it might get to the point where people who aren't protecting the societal elite and their interests are able to carry firearms!
Dude, it's a .22 in a steel barrel with a steel bolt behind it... I bet this guy wears safety glasses and ear pro to eat his beans & toast.
1:35 they said the same thing about Stoners design in the 60s.
Home made weapons are very sophisticated now!
Amazing.
I feel like shoot print repeat is doin more scientific studies on 3d printed guns. And hes just a dude printing guns and shooting for fun 🤣🤣
Did the uk ban nail guns?
Nope some guy got nailed to a fence with one recently
Glad it’s not my country, legal to make in my state, dam tyrannical government
Here's the crazy part.... not all 3D printed guns are illegal. 😮😮😮 check your local laws. Don't rely on fear mongering like this.
you might as well test the balistics of a wooden stick, with that close range it would almost be the same result
Look at this liar. Only one small part is 3d printed. The rest are off the shelf gun parts. They know this.
There is a reason why we Americans and you British are very different but there’s also a reason why I would still fight for you guys any day. Grow a pair don’t be afraid to be dangerous.
What's this from? Really interesting.
@@richfromtang What lol
It's from scared Brits who know little about guns.
I love the optic as if it's conducive to the test 😂 gotta make it look scary!
A $15 Amazon optic LMAO
Looks like something everyone should have access too.
BBC have lost the plot. No 3d printed pressure bearing parts were used.......
This is just one of the many reasons people like me dont pay a tv licence...your content is laughable, and not in a good way.
this two need some tactical training
Home made guns are not illegal only selling them is .
The legal 3d printed guns are completely viable and 3d printers are a great way to make custom parts
We’re they all 95-100% printed?
I have a 3d printed MP5 and AR9 at home, they're holding up just fine.
Goofy!
😂😂😂
Must be UK cops.
Omg responsible human beings having weapons...the HORROR. They only fear the revolt against establishment with them, other than that they couldnt care less. The fear over the general public having weapons is pathetic.
idk whats funnier the way hes treating the factory made us ar upper in 22lr like its made of ABS and firing rifle rounds or the fact that the ballistics expert at NABIS has a thick Donegal accent that makes him sound like he is the guy making the homemade firearms that Mi5 is trying to catch lol
What a silly question to ask on RUclips of all places.
My question is airsoft pellets are they able to penetrate that much as well when modified or not.
A nail gun powder charge will push a bb, a steel bb , to lethal velocities.
Has nobody told them?🥴😂
False information. This is no different than firearms purchased from an existing firearm manufacturer.
In the US. This is a video from the UK.
Admittedly, it's out of context here... intentionally, I'm sure. Fear mongering and such. But in the context of the UK and the court case this pertains to it's accurate.
Illegal? Not hardly.
It's the UK brother. It's illegal over there.
Iv seen guns made from clay molds and melted cans and a lot of hours filling and sanding 😊
its not illegal or 3d printed only parts not the complete gun also criminals will just do this anyway theu dont care about the so called "laws" so all it will effect are those that follow it 🤦🏻♂️
14 million views and 351 likes. 😂
haha 3d printer go brrr
