We're obviously aware of and deeply concerned about the global pandemic, and are choosing carefully what to publish as forms of escapism and entertainment to help ease thoughts of anxiety, and provide an alternative from the news. We are obviously NOT encouraging anyone to travel now or discouraging social distancing.

What’s with the photos…out of kilter arches instead of Grand Canyon, Yellowstone for paintbrush…do more homework

I've done 3 1/2 of these. The 1/2 is the Kalalau Trail - I only hiked the first 2+ miles to the first beach inlet. I've also done the Grand Canyon, Half Dome, and Teton Paintbrush/Cascade canyon loop - all 3 very epic hikes. Mount Whitney should also be on this list - 21 miles RT to the highest point in the 48 states is more challenging than these other mentioned 3 hikes.

honestly, I think that the Maroon Bells (Colorado 14er) should be on the list. It is a class 5 traverse, high exposure, loose rock, LOTS of route finding, and plenty of avalanche risk during winter. The mountain, being a 14er provides high elevation, and often gives climbers altitude sickness causing them to turn back. It is also a very technical route.

At some point a distinction must be made between a "hike" and a "climb". This list is non-technical hiking - basically feet only, no hands required.

Barr's Trail. The only way I'll ever do it is running the Pikes Peak Ascent. Plenty of support, and finished it in 6 hours 22 minutes and 47 seconds. Got a medal, a beer and the most of all, the donut of the day at the summit gift shop.

Mojo Travels, excellent list! May I point out that "Napoli" is Italian for Naples, but the trail in Hawaii is pronounced "nah POLLY" (Na Pali)? Also, I've backpacked both the north and south rim trails at Grand Canyon, and I feel the tougher one of the 2 is the North Kaibab, in that it's 1000 or so feet higher than the South Rim, is much longer, rougher and steeper, and thus takes much longer. Plus, there's only 1 water stop on the 14-mile route, as compared to 3 on Bright Angel. I needed only 4 hours in on Bright Angel, and 6 hrs. out the next day on S. Kaibab, but I needed 10:45 coming out the following year on N. Kaibab. Also, these 2 are the "walk in the park" trails at Grand Canyon, with a number of serious challenges in the park's back country.

The main reason the Kalalau Trail is so hard is because it’s muddy and slick. The whole trail is filled with mud. It gets muddy because it’s in a rainforest and the wetter part of Kauai. It gets hundreds of inches of rain a year. It’s the hardest hiking trail I’ve been too. Also, the most beautiful hiking trail. It has incredible views of Na Poli Coast.

‘Tis a pity y’all didn’t include the Devils Path in the Catskills!
Me and a friend did it one day last year, starting at 630am and finishing at 1130pm, with my odometer clocking in at 28.7 miles (official count tends to be around 25) with over 10,000’ in elevation gains alone, not to mention descents.
