Needless to say, it was more shenanigans against the author. As it is not my place to tell it, I will leave it at that. As an update, Dantias eventually left the Crawlers and things are pretty much back to normal.

I came from WoW to FFXIV with a few friends from WoW. We started a free company together and just chilled in discord. A guy and I got “married” in game and within a couple a of weeks another guy in the fc got mad at me, made up some lies (that he really seems to believe) and they left in the middle of the night and kicked me from discord. I should have known that it was doomed from the start. I’m actually happy in my current fc. So glad that I am not in a fc with them anymore. Realized that one person made the whole game a toxic place I just laugh about how stupid I was to start the fc when they asked LOL
Meanwhile me and the homie, who are mount collectors, marry each other for the 2 player chocobo mount. The wedding was awkward lmfao but worth it. One step closer to getting every mount. Side note: We do alot of content together and turns out getting married had a benefit we didn't realize till after it happened but the rings allow you to teleport directly to each other.
i didnt understand for the longest time why we could not put the eternity ring into glam dresser.... nearly a year later a friend mentioned ring teleport haha... I had no idea - for a year! lol
People get too angry about spoilers without realizing that without context, it's not as bad as "Snape kills Dumbledore". If somebody said "Mr Floaty Head" I wouldn't freaking know it was a "spoiler" until somebody screams "DON'T SPOIL IT!" I was part of an FC that banned Endwalker Spoilers for about a month or 2 after launch and it honestly felt suffocating having to dance around words
Ff14 players can get absolutely psychotic with the story to the point I saw and was even told that wearing some glams that I earned was spoilers and to never wear them
Then you have others that literally make the character's appearance and names, along with clothing, then go in dungeons. I've had Fourchenault and Ameliance together in my roulette.
Author of the second story here, I'll add in a few little details since I didn't realise my story made me come a cross as a bit bad. Parts are very exaggerated for the sake of a more compelling story and while I wasn't invited to the new FC I was asked if I "Wanted to try again" in regards to the current one, as for why Dan was invited, Dan and Zen would raid together hence why he was most probably added in. Another contributing factor is that they all knew I was planning on leaving our DC at some point, I'm an Aussie who was playing on NA and had always expressed an interest in leaving at some point, had I been invited to Zens new FC I probably would have turned the offer down as I didn't want to get involved in any more messes over there, while I'm not longer part of the inner circle Zen has always been a bit of a drama llama. I think Zen held some resentment towards me for not accepting the offer to try again and for quite explicitly telling him I wasn't interested in marrying him. I don't walk to talk too poorly on people but this wasn't Zens first failed love quest in FFXIV.
I'm guessing that final story about being hung up on Heroic Denathrius is pretty common because this story sounds very similar to my next to final guild in WOW before I quit the game for atleast the remainder of Shadowlands. Officer announces in discord they are server transferring 1 character, mass exodus ensues, guild lingers on for a couple more weeks before BOOM!!! The implosion is complete.

Honestly the first story is why I gave up on FFXIV. I remember some guy saying in my FC chat about one of the stormblood msq quests being over tuned. No actually details, just it was overtuned for he’s class. The amount of shit he got of officers was ridiculous, he ending up getting kick when he argued how illogical it was. It wasn’t the direct incident but it was a start of a chain where I just saw some people in FFXIV thinking there a bunch of special Susan’s and that the game is some sacred cow. I’m too old to base my entire personality around a game, so I left 😆
Someone in my FC said in our chat the other day “I’m taking “insert sons name here” to kill (GIGANTIC ENDWALKER STORY SPOILER) for the first time” …….. 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️. We have plenty of new sprouts that all of us have been involved with helping them level and get through content.

I can't really relate to the first two as I don't play xiv and nothing like that has happened to me in wow, but as for the last story, yes 100% guilty. 100% I understand and am doing basically the same thing right now in classic, but yes 100% guilty 😂 Officer leaving on main gives huge "this guild is dead/dying" vibes, even if the guild isn't really hard-stuck. The officers and long-standing core members of a guild almost serve as a pillar for everyone else, and losing one for almost any reason sends a ripple of unease that sort of begins the end, as it were. The whole "being stuck" thing kind of just speeds up the process. Having been through the song and dance of a guild dying multiple times, when something like that happens, be it an officer or even a core raider, at that point the team becomes a powder keg, and any drama of any kind will blow it to smithereens pretty much instantly. In my case, I'm just a member (albeit a long-standing one) and the guild actually is now dead (has not even attempted to raid in several weeks) and is possibly getting absorbed into another guild in order to fill the roster and keep going while I currently raid on my main with another team that's progressing the ulduar hardmodes really well, and i'm hoping to raid with my old team on my second mage when the merger is complete and we start up again. I stayed with them on main until our informal last raid though, because 'tis classic. Thanks one-lockout raiding 😂 if it weren't for that, I may have done the same thing as OP.
I know I'm too late for this to be relevant, but just to be clear; Free trials would only be able to access a party like this if they've unlocked the relevant housing district. So a fresh account could have gone to the Phoenix Nights party in Mist no problem, but to get to Empyreum they would have to clear the msq up to 3.3. Free trials can't join a FC, can't add friends, and can't trade or use the marketboard, so they'd have to do it the hard way. And rather than buying a story skip, it would be cheaper to just buy a month of gametime and add someone in Crawl to friends.

that first story reminds me of a personal experience from years ago, when the third DLC for Dark Souls 2 came out. I was watching a stream like on day 2 of the DLC of a streamer that was playing it, and when they got to a certain, rather notorious part of that DLC where you have low visibility I made a comment in the chat welcoming them to "version 2.0 of [other area in the game with low visibility]" and got immediately banned from the channel for spoiling. That comment was based my first thought when I arrived at that place earlier when I played myself, so I just got banned for making a correct observation of of the visual information on the screen at that moment. I never watched that streamer again, because holy fuck some people have absolutely no chill.

I have been in some really flaky guild excuse me free companies, within final fantasy 14. I have been playing MMORPG‘s since 1999 when EverQuest first came out. So from now on I think I’m just going to call them guilds. And that is what they have been cool and almost every game I had played since EverQuest. Kind of like how Starbucks wanted to be trendy and use different names for small medium and large. but I digress. And all of the guilds that I had joined in various game FF has by far to me been filled with the flakiest ones. One guild I was in and they basically broke apart because the leader wanted to go along with a different role-play story and one of the high ranking members/officer didn’t approve of the storyline and basically caused a schism. I am not even going to get into some of the other oddball experiences I’ve had. I mean granted I don’t like the spoiler content either but this stuff while good isn’t Pulitzer Prize winning material. More or less you can figure out what’s going on. But not being able to talk about anything story why they just ridiculous sometimes what are you talk about then?
Yeah nobody of a sound mind is going to flip out at you for calling a free company a guild lol. The precedent of the terminology has been set for decades, anyone that wants to put up a stink about that kind of thing really needs to learn to choose their battles better.

Like seriously when I first started playing FF 14 and accidentally said guild, I Khalid some flack right away as people started accusing me of being a wow refugee. Mind you I was actually in the beta test for the original 1.0 version of the game. I was also in the beta test for the initial launch of the 2.0 game. I had played 2.0. Excuse me ARR, for about six months give or take, before I had God pulled into EverQuest two where some old friends of mine had establish a Guild. but my point is I am no stranger to this game franchise I have been playing Final Fantasy games in general since the 80s but I always felt like there was a major gatekeeping going on where if you don’t enjoy the game the way everyone else does then you’re automatically ostracized for it.
in FF11 some people are pretty adamant about not calling linkshells guilds, but in that case I think it's justifiable because there are no free companies in that game and shells are the only thing kinda close to guilds, despite being pretty distinct in how they function. In FF14 though I don't think it really matters; call it what you're used to, even if some odd FF14 players out there have this strange idea that it's a term which had it's usage in gaming coined by WoW despite there being plenty of MMOs that predate it.

lots of FF players are really stupid about it both ways. Some people go nuclear even if what you're mentioning is totally insignificant, and then you have other players that will make their character into a walking spoiler and try to pass it off as being not a big deal, even though they're afking in the starting cities and genuinely spoiling new players on stuff.

My enjoyment of Drama Time seems to be depleting with the addition of FF14 stories. The show has always had other MMOs, especially that story of Pirates of the Caribbean Online, but FF14 just doesn't have the same feeling...I automatically tune out or fast-forward. Don't hate the game, just the general community since the great migration earlier this year.
I've had some encounters with some pretty unhinged people in FF14, but in general the surface-level social environment is just different so the drama that the majority of players do experience is a lot tamer comparatively. A big issue I think is that when you dig deep enough to start encountering the real freaks they're typically already deeply ingrained in communities doing some of the more genuinely challenging endgame content like ultimate PUGs, and trying to expose those people or share the drama has you running the risk of getting blacklisted from those communities on your data center if the people in that community side against you, which then makes finding a static to run with a lot harder if you don't already know people.
@@enyaliosares4301 a healthy channel gets about half of its subs as views on a video within the first week. if you look a month back (inlcuding the 135k outlier) you get about 35k views on avarage. thats not even 8% of subs....

One guild I was in and they basically broke apart because the leader wanted to go along with a different role-play story and one of the high ranking members/officer didn’t approve of the storyline and basically caused a schism. I am not even going to get into some of the other oddball experiences I’ve had. I mean granted I don’t like the spoiler content either but this stuff while good isn’t Pulitzer Prize winning material. More or less you can figure out what’s going on. But not being able to talk about anything story why they just ridiculous sometimes what are you talk about then?
Yeah nobody of a sound mind is going to flip out at you for calling a free company a guild lol. The precedent of the terminology has been set for decades, anyone that wants to put up a stink about that kind of thing really needs to learn to choose their battles better.
@@knowwhoiamyet yeah I totally agree but like I said there are a lot of special snowflakes out there. Like seriously when I first started playing FF 14 and accidentally said guild, I Khalid some flack right away as people started accusing me of being a wow refugee. Mind you I was actually in the beta test for the original 1.0 version of the game. I was also in the beta test for the initial launch of the 2.0 game. I had played 2.0. Excuse me ARR, for about six months give or take, before I had God pulled into EverQuest two where some old friends of mine had establish a Guild.
but my point is I am no stranger to this game franchise I have been playing Final Fantasy games in general since the 80s but I always felt like there was a major gatekeeping going on where if you don’t enjoy the game the way everyone else does then you’re automatically ostracized for it.
in FF11 some people are pretty adamant about not calling linkshells guilds, but in that case I think it's justifiable because there are no free companies in that game and shells are the only thing kinda close to guilds, despite being pretty distinct in how they function. In FF14 though I don't think it really matters; call it what you're used to, even if some odd FF14 players out there have this strange idea that it's a term which had it's usage in gaming coined by WoW despite there being plenty of MMOs that predate it.
@@leonardceres9061 I was pretty ashamed at how tribalistic the community got for a while. Of course there were going to be some bouts of friction as gaming cultures clashed here and there, but... C'mon guys, we're better than this level of pettiness I like to think.

lots of FF players are really stupid about it both ways. Some people go nuclear even if what you're mentioning is totally insignificant, and then you have other players that will make their character into a walking spoiler and try to pass it off as being not a big deal, even though they're afking in the starting cities and genuinely spoiling new players on stuff.

@@omensoffate As long as they're funny, that's what matters mostly in the end IMO. If you can suspend your disbelief just enough to get into it, all's well. I enjoy both types of stories, even though I've never played WoW beyond being a total noob for 2 months in university lol. But I can dig the stories all the same.

The more the WoW peeps come over to FFXIV, the more cringe FFXIV starts to feel.
My enjoyment of Drama Time seems to be depleting with the addition of FF14 stories. The show has always had other MMOs, especially that story of Pirates of the Caribbean Online, but FF14 just doesn't have the same feeling...I automatically tune out or fast-forward. Don't hate the game, just the general community since the great migration earlier this year.

I've had some encounters with some pretty unhinged people in FF14, but in general the surface-level social environment is just different so the drama that the majority of players do experience is a lot tamer comparatively. A big issue I think is that when you dig deep enough to start encountering the real freaks they're typically already deeply ingrained in communities doing some of the more genuinely challenging endgame content like ultimate PUGs, and trying to expose those people or share the drama has you running the risk of getting blacklisted from those communities on your data center if the people in that community side against you, which then makes finding a static to run with a lot harder if you don't already know people.

if you look a month back (inlcuding the 135k outlier) you get about 35k views on avarage. thats not even 8% of subs....
