The archway kind of reminds me of an keyhole or slice of bread. lol The tunnel is longer than I thought it was. I like the before and after photos. Thanks for sharing!
There is a Howard Tunnel in York PA. Along our "rail trail" that is like this. It is somewhat maintained. Thanks for sharing. I love these old tunnels.
I love seeing these historical places and the comparison photos are awesome. It’s crazy that it was still being used until 1970. What a beautiful area, great vid. 😃
I would say single track standard gauge until I check out the rail line. based on what I just read, the pennsylvania rr was once an owner so I would assume single track, standard gauge,
So many things to love in this explore . Awesome photos of the beautiful structures and scenery ; Loved the lucious " nature's carpet . ".. Sure glad FB suggested this place ...What a treat for all of us ! 💙👍( Oh...and loved the music you chose ....perfect !🎶🎵🎶
As far as the bridge is concerned, I wouldn't rule out that bridge and rail line having narrow gauge at some point. That tunnel is incredible to see. I really enjoy these locations.
Pretty Cool! Jay, I sent you a PDF link I found about this, lot of good info... It looks like that girder style bridge was a replacement for a trust type bridge... replaced there, in the early 1900s.
What a great find! Amazing to see how nature takes over. That natures carpet is gorgeous! I always enjoy the history of these old train tunnels and bridges. Thanks for sharing! 👍🥰❤️
Wow JP what an awesome explore, great history and so interesting! Beautiful landscape and very peaceful. The view off the bridge is gorgeous, as well as the nature's carpet, and I am always amazed at the construction of a tunnel like this! The photo you showed for comparison was so cool! I definitely think that Facebook did a great job suggesting this to you and I agree it would be a wonderful place to visit and just have a relaxing adventure! Love your incredible photos and what a great video! Thank you!
Hey JP... When we used to go the Pine Creek Gorge,we used to ride our bikes on the "Trails from Rails" gravel-bed trail, it's also the best fishing in PA, the Good Ole Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania... Some great memories too!
I have never let my fear of heights stop me from whatever. I was that determined & foolish, though now one step challenges! & in my defense, I am still here!
Cool video JP, love the natural stone inside the tunnel, almost think that the bridge pillars and the one end of the tunnel was from the debris out of the tunnel Got a sad bit of news, one of the sites that was filmable here is now gone for good, someone went in with an excavator and tore down the old pumping house that was used by the Erie Lackawanna railroad, it was in poor shape and it had been "tagged" multiple times over the years by the local people just the foundation is left and some of the trail is obliterated by the excavator operator when he tore it down, but there's still some good stuff left
There an other tunnel over in Poe Valley or Poe Paddy state park the state save it but not in the way your would think Scott's Oddyseey did a video which explains the history of tunnels
Was just doing some research and apparently the Poe Paddy tunnel is on the same line as the Coburn but there is a bridge missing preventing the trail from continuing.
Speaking of roads/driving...did you get the vehicle situation figured out? I'm sorry if you said and I missed it, but our thoughts and prayers are with you!
I have been to this tunnel many times and it is nice, but about 2 miles from this tunnel is another abandoned tunnel. It is the Poe Paddy tunnel, it's a longer tunnel with keystones on the ends. I'm sure it was the same trains that went through both tunnels. We like to walk and ride bikes though the Poe Paddy tunnel and Poe Paddy State Park is about a mile from this tunnel and is a nice remote state park.
JP, cool find! Quick question, have you ever thought of doing any "magnet fishing?" I'm sure you'd be able to come across some cool finds in that water under the rail bridge! Stay well and thanks for sharing!
Such a cool old Bridge !!! Also I love the colors in this video !! Glad they made use of it !! Also that is a very pretty area there and I say it was a narrow gauge bridge. The Rock inside the tunnel is so cool !! It would have been so cool to see a old Steam Locomotive coming out of that tunnel !! I miss the old Trains of yesterday.... loved the pictures at the end !! Great video as always !! 👍👍
@@JPVideos81 there's lots to see and do.. you might be able to Google this up.. lake pick thorn.. Holland bottom road Jacksonville Arkansas.. I've been camping out there.. now there's no utilities no gas electric water sewer.. your getting water from the lake.. boil it before you use it.. your going to have to go out back on a side road.. you can't camp around the lake.. you can fish no hunting.. it's a bit creepy at night.. there's no lights out thereLoL..no open fire it has to be in a grill.. if you come this way I'm near Cabot Arkansas Ward Arkansas and beebee Arkansas.. it's too dangerous to give out phone number or address on RUclips.. sad that people are like that right..
There's another tunnel around the other side of the mountain. Former town of Ingleby. If you go back to the Poe Paddy Campground there's a tunnel. People use it to to access the creek to go tubbing. So you can just go arouond and around. Lots of folklore revolving around this area.
Wow! What a beautiful place. I really love that view by the water looking at the bridge. That could be a postcard shot. Please do go back in the fall. I would love to see the view when the leaves are changing. I am playing catch up on youtube videos. I went out of town 3 weeks ago came home and had a medical procedure. I was so behind on everything but I felt like as much hell as I have been through over the last year I deserved a break. 😊 I really enjoyed seeing my eldest daughter and grandson whom I haven't seen in 4 yrs. I will get caught up on your videos. ✌
Exactly what it is. Fb randomly suggested this to me so I followed up the suggestion. Not sure how or why it's happening, but so far I have 2 other locations to check out from FB.
Hey JP I was wondering , I haven’t seen any more coal mine videos lately . They are really interesting to me . If you Still like underground mines there’s one I’ve been following on RUclips called Underground Adventures with Tom and Julie. They explore lots of old mines , gold, copper, silver and etc.. some of them have multi levels and addits and all sorts of cool artifacts and stuff on RUclips , if you’re interested sir.
Interesting, Category: Narrow gauge railroads in Pennsylvania en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Narrow_gauge_railroads_in_Pennsylvania Nice video! Thanks for sharing. I am afraid of heights too.
Do you think Facebook did a good job at suggesting this to me?
This was my Facebook suggested location, but it won't be my last.
They did a great job.
I think so. They knew right what you wanted to see. lol
Thanks for sharing, JP!😊
Yep ... ...good job FB ! 👍
Go facebook!! For once! Lol i love this explore, so beautiful the tunnel before you entered, just beautiful with the stone and moss growing, love it
So sad to see these rail roads just disappear & forgot about.
I love how fb shows us things, that's how I find some stuff out here in the desert
Pretty neat J. Facebook did you a solid. I’m glad people know about it and have the area up. Thanks for having us.
Picture perfect! Especially with all the Spring greens coming to life…👍😎

The unfinished end with not stonework is awesome to see! The whole thing is pretty cool! Thank you JP, it's definitely another good one!!!
This was a very cool suggestion, I pinned this on my maps for a future visit for sure, beautiful shots at the end and thanks for sharing JP.
You'll definitely enjoy it

Absolutely loved this place!! The bridge, all that moss, the layering of the stone, and that tunnel! My kind of place. 😍
💙😊

With old railroads anything is possible, especially how they repurpose and reuse what once was.
Every time I'm out walking 🚶 and come across some moss I think of you JP and 'Nature's Carpet'!!! Gill 🇬🇧
Such a beautiful historical tunnel with natural air condition. Thanks for sharing.
Trouble with heights but OK with widths, Priceless. That was a great video of rock strata.
Another great video. Thanks
Great video thanks for sharing this video itr awesome that you find this beauitful tunnel on facebook.
Beautiful area. Cool tunnel. Tfs 👍

Glad you stopped by to watch
Awesome Facebook find JP! Beautiful bridge and tunnel! Such a beautiful place and awesome rail trail! Thanks for bringing us along!
The tunnel was awesome, thanx 😊
There's less stonework above the portal than there was originally, I'm guessing they repurposed the blocks
So that’s what I seen in the Colorado mountains... I once visited mountains in CO, and seen similar tunnels but never went in.
It’s a beautiful place. I was impressed that you walked across the bridge, it looks fairly tall.
You make every adventure a great one and yes good job facebook.

will you ever be going to the clarion trestle? i donated a decent amount of money on patreon ($500) to suggest you to go there. did facebook pay you?
interesting explore ,thanks for posting
That is standard gauge, most railroads with girders like that are..
Hey JP... When we used to go the Pine Creek Gorge,we used to ride our bikes on the "Trails from Rails" gravel-bed trail, it's also the best fishing in PA, the Good Ole Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania... Some great memories too!
Great vid. Well shot with good commentary. What railroad operated this line? On my second watch I noticed 9:28 steam chuffing. Again, well done!
On my second watch I noticed the steam train chuffing accompanying the historical photo at 9:27.

Thank you for showing this piece of history. Wonderful video and beautiful images.
My pleasure
That's awesome
If you ever go back there you should check out Penn's View overlook that overlooks the bridge

It's been suggested before, but not something I'm interested in at this time.
Beautiful place JP, that bridge looks like it could have been narrow gauge. The bridge it self is to small for standard gauge rail road.
Certainly one of the more narrow one's I've come across.
Come on over to Arkansas there's lots of things to see..
Hey kid! Where's the keys?! Run Jimmy, run!

Excellent video!! Do you know what year the bridge was built?
I didnt find any info on that, but I'd imagine around the time of the tunnel.

It is a very narrow bridge
Not sure if this is the same. The height above the arch is different.
🤘😎
Would love to see the Simpson tunnel
👍👍👍👍
What's this fb location suggesting all about?
Exactly what it is. Fb randomly suggested this to me so I followed up the suggestion. Not sure how or why it's happening, but so far I have 2 other locations to check out from FB.
And sometime's it can also be an old road bed as well, yes, it's a rail bed. Interesting vid!

Cool tunnel
It was not Facebook , it was someone else who recommended it
Stander gage
Looks like a horse shoe
That was a standard gauge Railroad
