Very entertaining match! Tryhard matches with an unconventional strategy are so much fun to watch!
I think these kinds of strategies are often underestimated. Teching takes a long time to pay for itself with higher-power-units. In that time the dual tier-1-player has faster creep-speed and can put on a lot of pressure. I think it's especially viable for Orc and Nightelf, as they can siege-units on tier 1 too with which they can counter defensive towers, that would buy time for the teching-player.
Orcs can't make demos on T1
@@kennoth3297 Oh, right. I guess it still helps that they come out of the barracks, so you don't have to get an additional building to make them after reaching Tier 2.
@@ailstit suck as Ne against Orc with this strat. Hippo riders suck unlike Chims in T3. Orc and Hu already have OP air units in T2.

Massing Tier 1 units against NE is so satisfying since they often mass T1 archers/hunts with keeper/alchemist

Not going to pretend to be any good at the game, but I used to use this strategy years ago against night elf. I feel it works better more as a rush though when the elf player doesn't have much and you kill or deny moon wells. Unless they're smart enough to build moon wells randomly on the map they get food blocked and the random moon wells don't usually allow them to heal as easily.

6:25 -- honestly, Grubby could have ended game right there and then... *OR...,* at least deal sufficient damage to his opponent so that he could finish him just a few minutes later.
However, he chose to retreat instead -- *wanting to prolong the game on purpose* for showmanship's sake !! :P

Elf has full moon wells, good positioning now that DH has ported and grubby likely loses tc if he gets hit by that flame breath. He wasn't going to get more staying there.

2) "Good positioning" ... for whom? The elf?? xDD Nah. His DH was trapped and ripe for the taking.

Archer behind buildings with both heroes up and plenty of healing vs an entirely melee army. This is a silly conversation of course elf is ahead in that fight. Grubby needs to retreat and is forced to to or lose tc.

When all you know to do is how to harrass with DH and spam talons, that the idea of going air against mass tier 1 melee units never cross your mind

this is actually how I won my first ever ladder game back in the ancient days, I just made a blademaster and attacked this undead's workers and he called me rude names then attacked my base where I'd just been spamming grunts while I focussed on my blademaster lmao

I would say no, heros are core of the gameplay here
nope. heros scale harder than entire armies with few few exceptions
Ppl hero never watched annoying warcraft channel. He has won a lot of games with t1 no hero tower rush

Not going for heroes means you're missing out on a cheap, tier 1, self-upgrading unit, with the ability to use powerful spells and items.
Considering how little of an investment it is to go with at least one hero, i don't think any heroless strats will ever be competitive
