- During my time with Crockett Promotions, there were seven other managers working there: Jim Cornette, JJ Dillon, Paul Ellering, Paul Heyman, Sir Oliver Humperdink, Paul Jones, and myself. A lot of the managers had problems with each other and didn't like all the competition, but I had such an ego that I knew none of them could compare with the "Playboy".
The three people I always remember with Gary Hart were Abdullah the butcher, Al Perez, and the Great Kabuki
Thanks for posting; great great stuff by narrator & playboy Gary Hart. I saw him once in car with Mike Rotundo (he rolled up the window, they were stuck in traffic LoL)
Thank you for the kind words, wrestling fan! I’ve detected humor in your story.
Love the uploads. Thank you. You think we can get Hooker by Lou Thesz, and The King of New Orleans Junkyard Dog biography in the future?
Love these. Thank you.
AL Perez was one of the wasted talents and he shouldn't have had to scheme like this. :( Thanks for sharing this.
Thanks for listening
Such a disappointment with Al Perez. He could have been one of the greats. You could see it. I was thrilled to see him in the NWA.
Yeah, the Flair/Freebirds story sounds verrrrry suspicious.

Gary Hart
Gary is the only person I've ever heard insult Sting like this. I'm not buying it.
Same here. I agreed with everything else in the book except this. I've never heard all of these negative things about Sting. Hart sounded like a good dude, he may of had a bad run in with Sting that left a bad taste in his mouth.
Eh. Sting was overrated. Never drew a dime.
Others have talked about Sting having a bad attitude in those years, including Mick Foley. He matured after he went through some things but his attitude back then is well known.
Clash of The Champions# 2-Miami Mayhem- Wednesday 6/8/88 Miami, FL Knight Center Nikita Koloff beat Al Perez (Gary Hart Ringside): via DQ. But the Koloff- Perez fued started 4/30/88-10/30/88. Al Perez -Sting Fued 8/17/88- 9/3/88 & 1/6/89-1/9/88 Bunkhouse Battle matches: included Sting & Al Perez: Al Perez fired by WCW 1/23/89 in St Petersburg FL Bay Front Center Wednesday,. 8/24/88 Atlanta, Georgia TBS Studios (WCW tv Taping) might be where Sting & Al Perez almost fought, but Sting back down.
I love Gary but i gotta call bs on the Flair /Freebird thing. Ric is one of my 2 favorite wrestlers all time but i just dont see Flair beating up Terry Gordy. Maybe if it was the Hayes/Jim Garvin version but not Terry Gordy. Gordy, from what ive heard, wasnt a man to be trifled with.
Al Perez JCP debut Monday 3/14/88 Atlanta, Georgia :TBS Studios t WCW tv Taping 2 matches.; Al Perez 3/23/88 Atlanta, Georgia TBS Studios WCW tv Taping -1 match
3/27/88 Clash of The Champions 1 (Debut ) Greensboro, NC Greensboro Coliseum
I never heard anyone in the business say ANYTHING bad about Sting. This is a first.
Chad Kerwin How did Dusty show him to paint his face? Sting was painting his face looking good long before Dusty
@@wow77777 Exactly
wow, what a story about Sting. Al Perez stretching him and been a big whiner.
I'm not buying the Ric Flair Story sounds like a lot of alcohol infused revision. Beating up all 3 free birds Ric couldn't have beat up Gordy by himself plus if 3 guyss get their ass kicked by 1 dude their not walking right back into the bar. Gary tells some tales in between the truth.
The Jerk Buddy Roberts was very tough too
Plus being a Cult of Cornette Member, I can assure u,tat with Corney & flying, REGARDLESS of who's on board, there WAS XANAX INVOLVED!! 🤣
I lost any respect I had with the betrayal of Al Perez. Yeah, it wasn't very wise to confide in a Kevin Sullivan. Still, Al deserved better than he got. It just proves in the end that it's all good cop bad cop. He's not gonna cross them for his "talent" or anybody but himself.
Windy McGee Al screwed himself
Hart really had no choice tbh. It was all Perez's fault.
