I really enjoy your videos. They are so helpful! I would love to see one the habit of obedience. I know Charlotte Mason considered it very important and I need all the help I can get with this habit! Any practical tips?

I love this. However, if a child was brought up without nurturing and loving boundaries they will unconsciously be drawn to a destructive behaviors to escape trauma and pain. Even one may cognitively know what is right but if they have trauma they cannot simply use their will or it won’t be sustaining. I speak from experience. Emotions are valid but they should not be acted upon. Tears are gifts from the Holy Spirit - to wash away pain and to bring us closer to God. Wish this was taught more with Christians.

I find when I let my son cry (with compassion) while holding a boundary he is more obedient and pleasant afterwards. :)

Im sorry that you had to deal with trama as a child. This is what she is saying though. It is more difficult as an adult to make the right choice when as a child, loving training toward the will of God isn't given. You've basically said the same thing that Sonya was saying.
As for crying, I agree. I find that telling my daughter that it is ok to cry, but not ok to through a fit, then allowing her to sit and cry on the couch or wherever until she has calmed down helps. She has the release she needs without being distructive, then we talk about it.
