Affordable, transparent, seems to do the job and would be a good way to go if looking for a simple to use compressor.

Past 10 oclock, it pumps unevenly. Optical or not, it doesnt sound any better than the myriad of OTA comp pedals out there. Okay, maybe less noisy, but still not a good choice for bass.
