As a mainland Chinese working in Singapore, I often go to Penang since it's not far. I like it very much and I plan to make it my retirement destination.
We worldschooled and homeschooled our 3 kids for about 7 years, and when they went back to "normal" US schools, they all had 4.0s and qualified for honors classes
Our family just came back to Canada after a month-long trip around Malaysia. We absolutely loved it and are considering a move. We just can’t decide on where. Hahaha. Although we’re not big city people, KL is absolutely magical. Penang and Kota Kinabalu are also very special with a more chilled out vibe.
Penang is actually one of the retirement city for many British expatriates, including one of my boss before! I guess he is enjoying the place and many things etc etc . Enjoy your stay there!
Welcome back.. Malaysia is the best choice for you and your family especially for the kids.. This is a peaceful country suitable for your kids especially for education and a good way of life for them to grow up as carefree and decent youngsters in the future..👍🇲🇾☺️
I like visiting Penang, been there many a times, first time there being back in 1960. Yes, I am a old man now! We were in that hawker centre a few years ago, the traffic was horrendous, couldn't find a parking space when we got there and had to drive to another less known food centre for our meal! Have a lovely stay in Penang, England is chaotic with riots everywhere at the moment! Take care.

There is a whole health care system push for overseas professionals that has already started in scholarships in China already. I have a cousin's son/nephew from Pakistan studying MBBS medicine in a Chinese University now.
As a Chinese from mainland, I went to Penang twice. since the driver seat is at the right, it's quite different with China. when I ride a bike to visit little India, I even lost my way. Lol. anyway, Penang is good place, I still missed the seafood very much.
When I was in Penang, the Penang war museum at Batu Maung hill is a place I never missed to visit. It reminded me of the situation and the condition of the defenders manning the arsenals and the feelings of keeping close watch for the enemy invasion.
wow, i was at the table in front of yours last night. Didn't realize it was you n your family. I always follow your China travel video. Welcome back too Penang!❤❤❤
Penang is like my 2nd home. I went to boarding school there in the 60's on Bukit Bandera (The old Crag Hotel). I go back once a year to catch up with friends. Check out Uplands International School for your 10 yr old. Have you tried the new hawker place opposite The Copthorne in Tanjung Bungah or JJ Food Court? Much better than the ones at Batu Ferringhi and cheaper. Frandy Beach Bar and Restaurant is cool for sunset watching at the far end of Batu Ferringhi.
For family yes Malaysia is more suitable, for single n still wants to have fun especially wild life definitely not us..but I'm happy at least my own country is in the good vibe sides
