      Why did Technics subsequently make the SP10 mk3 and then the current SP10R?

    WOW!! I bought an ex ABC (Australia) technics sp10 MK2 with the arm and cart. This was nearly 30 years ago from Tivoli HiFi in Melbourne, Australia.
    But it is nothing like these tables.
    Mine is literally the stock TT unit with stock power supply.
    The arm is different to the one here and the cart is an AT mm.

      Yes, sp10 Mk2 was kind of a standard for professional and broadcast turntables, every company used to personalize it following their specific needs… I have also a Sonotec machine which is the same thecnics done for the France Radio, and an Otari following the same system for the Japanese Broadcast Radio… and I’ve seen something similar for the Finnish one… all of them different but with the same base…

      @@ilfafioccaro417 . So all of these were modified? This one you're showing here is amazing. My one, from ABC Australia is the absolute stock unit. The same as you'd pick up on the domestic market.
      Imagine the work that went into the two you have there!
      I have a question for you if you have the time.
      What is the quietest turntable you know of? I've read accounts of the SOTA Sapphire, the Merrill Scillia and especially the Well Tempered turntables all being extremely quiet. These are of course domestic tables.
      It looks like you've got a hell of a lot of experience with pro TTs.
      All the best!
      Mark.

      Hi Mark, most of my machine are quite vintage, let’s say the youngest ones are from the middle of the eighties… 40 years or more… so most of them are quite noisy if compared with modern ones, also because for broadcast purpose noise at that time wasn’t such an issue and also because the way they are built was more focused on the reliability that to the noise impact… said that, probably the more silent one is the EMT 950 , a “modern” direct drive machine from beginning of the 80…

    I want to know is there any out put to Amplifier connection or it goes directly to speakers

    • @ilfafioccaro417
      @ilfafioccaro417  Год назад

      It goes directly to the power amplifier, or to a line mixer or to the Aux input of a preamplifier, it’s like any others professional turntable which includes the pre phono RIIA

    per caso, ha un sistema di riduzione del fruscio di fondo? Non si sentono gli scoppiettii tipici del vinile

    • @ilfafioccaro417
      @ilfafioccaro417  Год назад

      No, se il vinile è in buono stato non genera fruscio o scoppiettii…

    Hehe... it's good that you kept these in original condition. I'm pretty sure this will be the only original BBC pair quite soon! I imagine that most people that get one of these machines rush to strip the turntable of all the peripherals and construct a custom plinth for it. I wonder what happens to all the EMI tonearms that are left - I have no info on them at all and always wondered what they compare to.
    I can't blame anyone that takes the BBC machines apart: I mean I know it's a professional machine but even so, this has to be the ugliest turntable set up bar none. I don't know what offends me the most about it but perhaps it's the thoughtless mixture of styles that probably does it: 80's turntable, 70's arm and plinth, 60's knobs and control panel... it's all so grotesque looking, it would mar the musical experience of any record played on it by anyone who possess their sight. Well, maybe I should not be so harsh: some elements of it look positively funny.

    La fabrication électronique a l air sérieuse, mais on est surpris par le nombre de commandes et commutateurs...l ergonomie ne me parait pas être son point fort : ex les boutons marche arrêt situés trop près du bout du bras et qui peuvent être touchés lorsque l on manipule le bras. Rien à voir avec une EMT .
