Today I wanted to play with one kind of a hidden monster in World of Tanks - Object 705A. It is definitely not the rarest tanks, but you do not see that too many times. It has many tricks up in its sleeve and hopefully today I am able to show you couple of them. :)

5:27 Technically no, JPE HEAT can penetrate your turret with ease. I have done it before, If those 2 JPE's loaded HEAT, They would have 60% chance to pen you reliably

The tank is full of packages it looks like an Amazon delivery tank.
Just got mine. I run triple survivability. Improved hardening for track repair, always damaged from side scraping. Spall liner for stun benefits and also HE damage reduction, only way they can reliably damage me. And modified config, for repair and just buffer modules. Amazing tank.
This was my second tier 10 tank and I really love it.
Only played to the tier 9 so far, but it feels very solid.
I'd use improved rotation, turbo and gun rammer on this tank when I'm finished grinding for it cause this kind of tank needs to get to the action quickly to maximise it's impact.
Not going for it, but staying on 705. The accuracy is one of the biggest issues I think. People say like, it is a brawler, but on enough maps you can't fight close combat and it will be a lot harder to contribute also because of the lack of gun depression.
705A feels very strong as a heavy tank. Only that gun accuracy keeping it at check.
The 705A is a flawed tank that with experience becomes super easy to deal with.
To be frank the uppper and lower plate means nothing vs heat.
The top left and right of the gun mantle have several places where it's 240mm spaced armor with 0 armor after, meaning standard and premium rounds go through it like 50% of the time.
When it sidescrapes you can pen it reliably with standard rounds if you shoot the center of the hull armor, you tell where it is thanks to the 4 protruding tank suspension.
It is a fun tank that has character for sure, just be mindful of the flaws it has.
Tell me which tank has armor vs heats hahah. Even Skill said when enemies load heats you don't have armor with any tank

As for your misinformed statement the obj 452K and the minotauro even 420 heat can't pen when hull down, you could add kranvagn if the driver is competent.
@@Dalkian You are talking about tanks in their superior position... Im talking the tank as a whole. Its the same as saying will you pen 705a on a perfect sidescrape, no you wont... I bounced many jag panzer gold shots...

I don't have that tank yet, but from i saw about this tank, its another example "good only on paper".
In theory its very armored, and in good position the armor is working wonders. But in practice, you cant sidescrape every time and lower plate is quite easy to pen, not to mention side armor isnt that thick and its easy to pen from flank.
I suspect that accuracy is so bad i would get angry very fast, so that another con.

Almost every t 10 heavys lower plate can be penned by any t9 tank
Lower plate is not really easy to pen, it's about 250 effective, and if tanks are close they will shoot down on it make it even better, plus you can angle it to about 260-270 effective, which is the only real 'weakspot', turret is amazing and side armour is 100mm, more than enough to sidescrape with. Honestly if you can't do decently in this tank then you are just bad at the game, it has good HP, amazing armour, mobility is even decent for what is essentially super heavy armour and HP, and it has 650 alpha to trade with.
@@tajj7 i dont have this tank yet, im just pointing not so obvious things i got from fighting against them or from what people say. Obviously its designed to be close combat tank, but on bigger more open maps 705a isnt great. With 0.44 or whatever this tank has accuracy you cant hit shit on longer ranges, the same thing with side armor, 100 is thin and there is not much angling or space protection like usually rusians have, you will be penetrated from every shot which is not frontal. Its just not enough of armor for its very slow speed in my opinion.
I have 3 marked 705A and sit comfortably in my favourite go to tier 10 heavy tanks and it is very fun tank to play. Armor is actually very easily workable and the alpha is amazing to trade with. As you mentioned the gun is painful in open maps but tou can block most of the bad maps if you decide to play multiple games in it ;)
That VK shot at the end was not overmatch, there is actually a cupola which is only weak against gold and from above

Jg Pz E100 can easily penetrate 705A's turret with gold. When I play Jg Pz I often enoy the overconfidence of 705A and Kranvagn players who think nothing can get through their turrets. Well, Jg Pz can.

I went up it's tech tree but stopped at tier 9, which is really good
Yeah, the tier 9 is incredible. Many players play it with the IS-7 gun but I play it with the 122mm gun, which is actually really good having APCR as standard and HEAT as premium and hitting for 440. It's the same gun as in the Obj 257 and the dpm feels really comfortable.
One of the worse Russian heavies is good in the right matchup but something like a is7 is better cos it can reverse sideacrape which is similar and is front mounted and mobile

I don't have this tank, but it looks like a beast to me. I don't know why it is not more popular.
High Load time, No gun depresion, No really great penetration or shell velocity, low DPS. Only have armor and a game where everybody carry only premium ammo, your armor is useless.
I love this tank, but is out date in the meta now. Side scraping? Hulldown? look JgE100 penetrating your turret like wet paper, Then you dont have mobility, DPS, -15º of gun depresion or something then your tank is useless now days.
U need slope more your frontal armor to stop the premium ammo, using a rock or something but then u dont have gun depresion to return fire xD
Also, look object 277 and AMX M4, they do same alpha damage than 705A but with a lot less reload time and dispersion xD, its need a buff in the gun this thing. Armor, mobility and others are just right for the kind of tank, but gun is awful. The object 705(without A) its overall better and the turret have less weak point for premium ammo unlike the 705A which have flat area in the front of turret.

I drive it with an enormous amount of pleasure and I'm not doing to shabby in it either.
Its the next one I wanna get an MOE on (and as an average player I'm already happy with 1 MOE).

I love mine, it's nice seeing a tech tree tank that can obliterate a much-craved side-scraper reward tank (VKK); VKK doesn't have anything on the 705A, and with the HE rework too, you can't light ppl on fire via HE explosion radius anymore exploding into your intake tubes. The only thing about the 705A is RNG hates it when you fire gold. As you saw yourself, Dez... like any time I switch to gold ammo for my clan during clan wars, I either miss, it bounces, etc. etc... I stick to AP in all my tanks and standard APCR...

In reality (with non-streamer acccount, non improved equpment and non 7/9 skills) this tank is weak. More bounce than pen, the gun more like 500dmg in avg than 650. Also it is slow and most of the med/td penetrate the front and turret.
Ofc if you played 2k round on it and always in 3 person platoon, then it is okayish.
most mobile superheavy, impenetrable turret unless shooting from side / rear, not even jg pz e100 is going trough the front of that turret.

Yeh this tank can be good in hull down. But anything else is absolute garbage. If u get caught off guard with this tank, ure DEAD. And this tank is BAAAD at Sidescraping... REALLY BAD.
You're nuts. The 705A has boat side armor, and a rear turret. It can side scrape vs almost every single premium round in the game. And the turret isn't going to be easily penned either. Side scraping is the thing it was basically designed to do.
@@Stuka87 The upper frontal hull has very large ''shoulders'' which make everything weird.
If you angle them properly then, the upper frontal plate becomes cheese for gold and vice versa. Overangling is actually very easy in it and the turret front is actually flat at the base, so TDs spank you with gold. It's actually funny how the one true russian superheavy at tier 10 doesn't have the standard immortal turret. For me the tier 9 and 8 are A LOT more fun, with the tier 8 being the best in line imo.

@@cerberusrex5275 Those shoulders in a proper sidescrape are like 370 effective, if you do it properly you'll show maybe a sliver of upper plate at worst, which they will need like 340 HEAT pen to go through, plus you can do what Dez did several times if you have a rubbish pile, which is wedge the front of the tank up a bit and you'll be close to immune to 340 HEAT basically, its a beast sidscraper, better than anything in the game pretty much.
@@tajj7 Nah. The UFP is 270-ish max when the shoulders are angled. If you angle it to 340 the shoulders are at 230. Sliver or small patch, its getting penned at close ranges. Also with 340 pen I would consider just shooting the turret front XD

Maus is the only heavy which can just stand in the middle of field and angled for 330mm+ effective armor. 705a has weak sidearmor and lowerplate

This was my first tier 10 tank and it made me go from.48% win rate to 55% win rate :x i hecking love it. I even bounce shitbarn and deathstar ap shells and somehow a couple hesh shells o.O

the standard ammo is pretty shit, but the gold is also pretty shit, so either the player learns which tanks they can penetrate with the standard or they are screwed

I have all of the tier10's and this 705A is on of my hidden gems as well.
I don't think the mobility is bad on this tank. Having arguably one of the best armor at T10 heavy and still go at 40 ? hell yes
As Jingles touched on it's also a complete and 100% made up and fictional tank. No prototypes, no blueprints, no mock-ups, no napkin sketches. Nothing. This tank never existed. If I recall correctly, Jingles said there was written documentation of talk about an idea for a rear mounted turret IS-7 tank but nothing ever happened.

And to be honest, WOT was never historically accurate even when they first released the game in 2011 even back when there were only 3 tier 10 tanks in the game. They took tanks that were only ideas, concepts, and blueprints and made them into working game models. There was no historical accuracy with a lot of those tanks. Hence, "fictional." Lmfao. Go brush up on your vocabulary before you comment again.
I use improved accuracy, rammer, and GLD, but with field mods i also do rammer, GLD, and vert stabs...set up for every map
