"Der Erbe des Unviersums" (The Heritage of the Universe) is a Super-8 SciFi movie, made by our inventor between 1981 and 1982 with his friends.
When the film was finished, the friends split because of different careers. Most of them never saw it as a finished film, and now that RUclips and Digital are available, that's changing.
This was taken very seriously at the time and no time, money and effort were spared to make a Super-8 full-length film.
One can imagine when J.J. Abram's film "Super-8" came into the cinemas a few years ago. ;)

Anfang der 80er Jahre des letzten Jahrhunderts ereignen sich in einer US-Amerikanischen Kleinstadt seltsame Vorfälle, die nach Recherchen nicht zum ersten Mal dort stattfinden.
Ein Reporterteam der Muncie-Evening-Post stallt Nachforschungen an, die in die Vergangenheit zurückführen zu einer fremden Macht. Jedoch ist dieses Team nicht alleine auf der Spur, denn der Geheimdienst ist ihnen auf der Fährte aus Gründen von eigenem Interesse.
Ein Sci-Fi Super-8 Spielfilm von 1982.
Neu editiert und vervollständigt, so wie er im Original nie gezeigt werden konnte, nun nach 35 Jahren endlich in der Version wie er im Anspruch der Initiatoren der damaligen Zeit hätte sein können!
Nach der Digitalisierung vom Original Super-8 Film dauerte es ganze 4 Wochen um die "Der Erbe des Universums - Special Edition" fertig zu stellen. Es wurde versucht aus dem Material das best Mögliche an Qualität herauszuholen, ohne den originalen Flair des Films allzuviel zu beeinträchtigen. Selbstverständlich wurden sämtliche zur Verfügung stehenden digitalen Möglichkeiten eingesetzt.
Viel Spass bei der Reise zurück in die Zeit, insbesondere für alle Beteiligten! Auch wenn der Film 35 Jahre alt ist, besitzt er eine Botschaft die aktueller nicht sein könnte.

At the beginning of the 1980s, strange incidents took place in a small US-American town, which, according to research, were not the first time there.
A team of reporters from the Muncie-Evening-Post stables investigations that lead back in time to a foreign power. However, this team is not alone on the track, because the secret service is on their trail for reasons of their own interest.
A Sci-Fi Super-8 feature film from 1982.
Newly edited and completed, as it could never have been shown in the original, now after 35 years finally in the version as it could have been in the claim of the initiators of that time!
After the digitalisation of the original Super-8 film, it took 4 weeks to complete the "The Heritage of the Universe - Special Edition". It was tried to get the best possible quality out of the material without affecting the original flair of the film too much. Of course, all available digital possibilities were used.
Have fun travelling back in time, especially for everyone involved!

Ich finde es großartig, was die Jungs da gemacht haben! Zu dieser Zeit (1982) war ich gerade 20, ... und ebenfalls scifi-begeistert, als Perry Rhodan Leser, bis heute.

Dankeschön, Leda. Wir waren begeistert. Auch von Perry Rhodan, auch haben Lucas und Spielberg ihren Anteil daran. Wenn man genauer hinhört, tragen manche die Namen aus der Perry Rhodan Serie als eine Art Hommage. Du kannst Dir vorstellen, wie man sich gefühlt hat als J.J. Abrams "Super-8" herausgebracht hat. ;)

With this movie, our love to space and the unknown was first shown on "a screen" in 1982. It is a Super-8 movie what represents the time in which we lived in the 80ties. Started with the Moon landing of Apollo 11 in 1969, via the love for sci-fi movies of Lucas and Spielberg, inventing a commercial space company in the year 2000. And now in it since 18 years. Don't take it such serious as we took it in that time and have fun!

Nowadays it would be possible to do in other ways. But for that time, with the possibilities we had, it was a significant endeavour, for all of us. The original cut received the 5th place at the "Film Youth Festival" in 1983 or 84, not sure when it was. It was a considerable learning curve, and it influenced all of us. Better to do such a movie as to get drunk each day in the pubs. We were doing it during high school, and as the film was ready, we all lost connection to each other. Until last year, as the idea came up, to copy it digitally and doing a special anniversary cut out of it. Time flies. As "Super-8" by J.J. Abrams comes into the cinemas some years ago, it was like a time voyage.
