Anne Francis is also very good in "Bad Day at Black Rock." A rare color Film Noir - Eddie Muller showed it on Noir Alley a couple of years ago. Also, "bonkers" is a perfect word for "The Tin Drum," and it's unforgettable.
I’d recommend the following films for this wonderfully diverse September on TCM.: The Mighty Quinn (1989)-3:30 AM EST-Friday, September 6th A wacky, yet suspenseful musical comedy caper starring Denzel Washington as a Caribbean police detective who investigates the situation of a childhood friend accused of murder. A Little Romance (1979)-6:00 PM EST-Sunday, September 8th Two teenagers find love in the City of Lights thanks to the help of an old man and the wisdom of Humphrey Bogart. A delightful and moving story of falling in love for the first time. The Curse of the Cat People (1944)-9:15 AM EST-Friday, September 13th A Christmas-set sequel to the iconic 1942 horror classic Cat People which centres around a young girl and her friendship with the ghost of her father’s late first wife. You have to see it to believe it! Reds (1981)-8:00 PM EST-Friday, September 13th Warren Beatty’s Best Director-winning epic docudrama uses interview footage with actual friends and acquaintances of October Revolution participants John Reid and Louise Bryant. Features a terrific ensemble cast and evocative cinematography.
Donald Sutherland played his character perfectly. Though they chose this totally uninspiring guy to investigate this case he accomplished far more than was expected. In the end his capabilities were impressive.
The reason there’s almost nobody in the town in black rock, is because that’s the population. It’s how small towns like that are in Nevada. Remember, the train hasn’t stopped there in years for a reason. I’m surprised he didn’t seem to get that.great movie, I own the Blu-ray.
Bad Day At Black Rock features some of the finest performances of Spencer Tracy and Robert Ryan. That's an amazing pick.
Spencer is amazing in Bad Day At Black Rock. Can't wait to see it again. ❤
TCM is the movie channel. 🎥
Have been waiting ages for TCM to screen “The Tin Drum.” Thank you for this selection!
I wish I didn’t have to subscribe to Max to get TCM. TCM can stand on it’s own
Love these videos! They always steer me toward great films I probably wouldn't have found on my own.
Klute was intense and well done. Bad Day At Black Rock - superb.
I’ll have to watch The Tin Drum. 🥁

TCM the best. Need to skip the war stories but will watch Spencer Tracy or Jane Fonda anytime. 💕💜
Tin Drum yet anther exhibit of why 1979 may be the best year in Cinema!

Bad Day at Black Rock never gets shown in Canada. Hoping TCM can get the rights issues worked out.
