    A good way to get an understanding of the exposure triangle is to spend a day doing still photography at different apertures. Slow and deliberately go up and down the scale and make observations as you go. MF vs. AF are just ways of getting there in focus. Fundamentals like the exposure triangle will serve a person well. I compare it to understanding and using a a manual transmission on a car. Great points Rock!

      @@DanFarrar Yes!! I play with aperture every day. It’s such a critical thing to really understand how to get images that you can see in your head. The opportunity that aperture gives you is the opportunity to be unique from everyone else, to make images that nobody else will create because of the nuance of what you can do when you begin to understand what happens when you stop down your aperture. Shooting wide open is awesome, but figuring out everything in between the slowest aperture and that wide open aperture is the key to unlock your creativity. That “depth of field” and a true understanding of what it actually is, the blurry parts of your frame, the character it creates is everything. And of course, you left this comment because you get it. Because you’re you. :-)

    I’ve watched this at least twice and will watch again. Seeing how you process ideas and shots is cool - like a behind the scenes clip in real time. I’m the type of person that will look up trivia when I watch a movie a second/third time. So this style is a unique perspective into your creativity.
    More support to be ourselves in our creations. 🙏🏽 thank you!

    I was musing on this point this morning as it happens.. how the really big channels actually have zero relationship with their audience.. many come to social media for connection and if a channel is too big to even acknowledge their followers it becomes a sad place for both the creator and those who follow them

    • @RockWILK
      @RockWILK  23 дня назад +1

      @@fragglefragmentedmind I believe it becomes more of what society as a whole is becoming. Less personal, less genuine, less of an exchange, less understanding of one another, less empathy, more judgmental behavior, less intelligent overall. I think the more we lose touch with one another, the closer we come to the end of us. I will always try my best to have genuine interaction with everybody and anybody who comes to my channel, no matter the growth. But I’m quite sure the fact that I do that, and the nature of my videos will keep me from becoming a gigantic channel. which is fine with me, I’m all about the hustle, I’ll figure it out, but most important to me, is my relationship with the people who receive my work. Whether it be on stage in a theater, whether it be in my films, whether it be here on RUclips, I’m all about connecting. that’s the most human thing we can do. That’s everything to me.

      @@RockWILK I agree with you 100%.. I want to make a living here on YT... not a killing. I want to make enough so I can live an even more modest life lol.. oh the irony haha. I watched a creator rating youtubers/influencers homes.. it was nauseating.. I commented- meanwhile people go hungry. Its great to be comfortable in life, but giving back is so so important.. I would never indulge in a mansion.. honestly.. id sooner live in a log cabin with millions under the mattress 😝.. joking aside.. being able to give back is more rewarding than a mansion in my opinion and I think, remaining a personal channel helps giving back because humility remains and people appreciate that.

    I don’t want to watch big RUclipsrs, I prefer small channels. I’m a small channel myself

    • @RockWILK
      @RockWILK  22 дня назад +1

      @@sinaguso I like any channel that interests me, large or small. But I do think small channels have an opportunity to stay connected to people in a way that larger channels just cannot possibly do. As a matter of fact, I think most of the large channels are just connected to one another.They go to events together, they follow each other, I don’t think they’re really interested in the people who actually follow them who are not other big RUclipsrs. I think it’s rare that they are connected to somebody who is not on their level as far as making money on this platform. At least it appears that way. But I totally understand it, because I think it’s almost impossible to be connected to anybody when you have 10,000 comments under every video. It’s just physically impossible.
