By the mid-20s, Ragtime already was out of fashion.
The underground club you are referring to is historically called a speakeasy and Were very wide spread in the 1920’s prohibition era, in-fact many can still be found today, some of them completely renovated to their former glory and used as fully functioning bars. (Excuse my grammar)

Hedwig's Theme was brilliant in that rag! It didn't suffer at all in the translation. Could hear that very arrangement in the Three Broomsticks.
I actually thought it was awfull. Didn't suit the ragtime style at all in my opinion. The other worked way better for me, especially Pirates of the Caribbean.

Agreed. It had a very “halloweeny-in-aesthetic-but-not-actually-scary” feel to it. Like in the haunted mansion at Disneyland...actually since “Grim Grinning Ghosts” features a Barbershop quartet, the genres’ time overlap probably helped remind me of the Haunted Mansion.

I discovered ragtime a while ago, but started getting into it in April 2023. :) It is one of the first genres of music for the 20th century. Reminds me of music they have in Western movies.

A link to the sheet music is in the description. All but the first page have "PREVIEW" written all over them unless you pay, but all of it's there and it's readable (although not quite comfortably so).
But of course it's good to support the guy who made it if you can afford to.

I know theres 1.5k comments and mine's gonna be washed away in the sea that everyone has created, but I felt the need to say that the lord of the rings ragtime was absolutely perfect. The style of it was different than the other 2 and it was somewhat charming and moving and actually brought me to tears. It was beautiful if a fun and homey way that is really special. It's absolutely bonkers. In the Harry Potter one, at 0:39, there's a bar full of eighth triplets, and it's in tempo 136 for a half note. This means the whole bar is over in just about 0.89 seconds and those 12 eighth notes are played at a staggering 812 keystrokes per minute

The music wouldn't work simply because of the time period the movie is set in:
-Potter Ragtime wouldn't work for Harry's generation, but what about in Newt's generation in the 20's/30's?
-Pirate Ragtime might work with a Bonnie & Clyde movie.
-LOTR Ragtime would be a Merry/Pippen tune at the tavern.
A good example of this song style switching is Westworld's piano renditions of modern songs that wouldn't sound out of place in the Wild West.
People currently aren't concerned with this fact right now, but thanks for it anyways.

When I hear the LOTR theme I get teary eyed. I loved the original trilogy. Still haven't watched the Hobbit! Should I?
I was in that exact position until a few weeks ago. My advice is: Make sure your expectations are super low. The lowest of low, expect an absolute disaster.
And then watch the Hobbit. The first one was actually pretty fun, albeit boring at times. From there it goes downhill and the last one honestly is pretty horrible, but for me once I watched one and two I needed some closure and did the last one as well. Theatrical cut though, they're too long even without doing extended!
Try to check if you can watch the Tolkien edition. Its a fan movie, cutting the three hobbit movies into one, and that one is decent. The hobbit movies are way too drawn out
Well, in relation to these other comments, I didn’t think the Hobbit movies were that bad. But still, yes, do watch them
