- In this episode of the Perspective Prog. Based on 'Demonetisation Verdict'. More than six years after the Centre's decision to demonetise the Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 denomination notes, the Supreme Court in a 4:1 majority verdict, has upheld the move, saying the decision-making process was not flawed merely because the procedure emanated from the government. Ruling that the decision to scrap the high-value currency notes does not suffer from any legal or constitutional flaw, the top court said there was consultation between the Reserve Bank of India and the Union government for a period of six months. The top court also observed that the decision being the executive's economic policy cannot be reversed. Justice B V Nagarathna dissented from the majority judgment, saying demonetisation should've been done through a legislation and not through a notification. We'll analyse the key points of the SC's judgement on demonetisation in Perspective today.

“It is an act of Secrecy”. Is a flawed argument to justify the process itself.
How did Govt get back 99.4% currency back when it was an act of secrecy? This should have been the question to the panelist.
I felt it was like a one side debate with no proper counter questions.
Objectives/ intentions and outcomes cannot and should not be evaluated in silos.
Why RBI didn't declare that. If outcome not achieved who to blame. 15 lac cr changed.

Giving time in parliament to implement the decision will also give time and power to crooks. Glad of the decision. As for people dying due to delimitation., well hope some have learned a good lesson that dealing with black money will only bring misery.

Loss of lives due to demonitization is not under SC jurisdiction is the verdict
demonetization met his objectives, which is why there have been only 5 to 10 no civilian blasts from 2019 till date..earlier It was 100-300 civilian blasts every year from 2005 to 2012.

Where are 2000₹ notes these days ? Answer will tell you whether demonetisation was good or bad.
Demonitization appeared in our life with holistic intentions to take away the issues from the society but in the process created more than it had before. If there was anything wrong with regard to Demonitization, I would say implementation. You can't drive a car without wheels even if you have filled the fuel tank.
SC should b renamed as technically useless
objectives is little bit achieved because these can be obtained without note ban e.g. online transaction etc. which government is buzz
one positive thing is that which govt. not talk is that (which is implicit ) money is nothing without govt. approval and lot people think bank is right place not storing it in there home

reasoning logic and scientific temperament is important than emotion of course may be emotion is right sometime but its not acceptable
