- Today we're exploring the Pedal Path at Big Bear lake, CA.
I'm riding the Brompton in touring mode with four complete sets of cycling gear and a Showers Pass rain jacket in my rack bag. The front bag has evening clothes including a pair of hiking pants, underwear, and shirts. It also has tools, a tablet and sundry electronics, sun-block, etc. Then I went off-roading. It's a miracle the Brompton didn't snap in half.
I was riding fully loaded because I'm planning a four day bike touring vacation in November and I wanted to see how the Brompton handles with full panniers and front bag. I'm looking forward to touring California's central valley.

Thanks Terry.
I ride a Brompton as well. Lot of fun
Awesome video! Question. Did you stay in Big Bear? Any hotel suggestions? I love the route you took. Looks like you ride more than just the Pedal Park. Do the paths eventually lead you to town?
Thanks!
The trail does pass through town about 2.5 miles from where I started. I live locally so I can't recommend any hotels but the Hacienda is the best Mexican and the Grizzly Manor is the best breakfast in the area.
What type of tires are you using to be able to ride on dirt and rock trails?
I'm riding Continental Contact Urbans. www.brompton.com/p/742/continental-urban-contact-black-tire-folding but with the tan sidewall.
Have you had any flats with your Brompton?
I've never had a flat. Always run Schwalbe or Continentals
