I love him! I saw him at Guanajuato's Festival Cervantino, México; and He is one of the kindest persons I've ever met. He was speaking spanish and taking pics with his fans (all of them)... He is simply PERFECT! And he did a perfect performance with "La Arpeggiatta"... They were absolutely awesome!

I like his use of vibrato. It's accentuating not dominating. Many singers, to my taste, lean too heavily on vibrato. He holds the long note and concludes with a gentle vibrato. Exquisite!
I was sorting through some old music this evening and came across D'UNE PRISON and looked that up on here for the first time. As a result I have discovered this extraordinary voice. It made my Saturday evening complete. I have always love Hahn's songs but to hear them sung with such a heavenly voice is beyond description.

Finally, this anemic and asexual voice is unbelievable in such a sensual context. French melodie is not devoid of sexuality but, to the contrary, it is full of real sensuality, something very rare in other culture.
Sitting at my desk, looking at the music... it's in 6/8. If you listen carefully, it's clear to me that the pianist is trying not to fall into the *1*23 *1*23 feel that many pieces in 6/8 fall into. Maybe it's because Hahn writes: "Infinement doux et calme" at the top of the page so the pianist evokes the still vastness of a lake by playing without accents so as not to disturb the surface of the water. The other thing that bugs me is that you complain about the sexuality of Jaroussky's voice. Completely disregarding that this song has nothing to do with sex, it's still one of the sexiest things I've ever heard.
Certainly one of the most outstanding and delightful counter-tenors of the current generation. His voice never anything other than clear and sweet.
