Know what you mean about feeling jealous of people living in Bulgaria and doing their houses and gardens; we just want to be there right now, but first we have to get the house bought - roll on May 13th at 10am BG time when it will finally be ours! Making so many plans and thinking about integrating into the village and learning the language with our neighbours. It just can't come soon enough for us. Agree with Nadya about concentrating on the house, you've already got the hard standing for the pool and can enjoy it, and how much nicer would it be if you had a lovely house to look at while chilling in the pool.
So, Bucharest is 60 km away from Rousse. I don't know where your house is - north Bulgaria, probably? And if I were you, I would do the outside rendering of the house and painting it - this would improve your outside space. You would better insulate it and then render it. It will take max. 4-5 weeks with the right people. 2 - patio tiling - 2 days. Do it yourself. You will be surprised how much handy you can be only by watching youtube videos. And that is it. Travel around, go to the sea for a week...❤
Our house is an hour from Rousse, which made me very happy to take a job in Bucharest! I know you are right about the house - we should really focus on insulating and rendering (and window renovation!)
