as iconic as going under the grandstand was, i'm so glad they're making this change. Should make for much better racing IRL and in game should be less aids to actually try and drive
It’s not up to the fia or f1, the “bus stop” part of the track will be a construction site soon. The street won’t even be able to be used be citizens or tourists let alone f1 cars.
@@Opsitional honestly the braking zone into t16 is one of the best, alongside t13 russia. The corner itself isn't fantastic but I can't hate an angled braking zone

They didn’t change it for entertainment purposes, the government told them they need to change it because they will build something new there

Hard to say whether it was at full blast, but crazy that the 2023 lap was only 0.7 slower than Lewis’ lap in 2018.
Defo didn't look like the car was anywhere close to its limit. Easy 0.5-1 seconds in that lap left to squeeze out

It's only for a year, the Singaporean government is building something in front of the grandstand
It will return to the old layout, they will build something there and they need the place clean

Turn 16 to 19 and thw lap increases to 63
I'm pretty sure all the drivers will be happy with this change, easier for them now

The change makes a lot of sense, whilst fun over one lap the micky mouse section just kills the racing
Guarantee Codemasters won't have the new track ready in time for the next game

Sad they'll not use the bay grandstand again. The stand has the greatest view (not race view).

I think it will increase overtakes, with that being said it’s only gonna be like this for 2023
That was the only part that wasn't drying as quickly so these changes mean the track will dry quicker, better for racinh

They changed the circuit at the request of the Singapore government due to construction.
It'll return to the original layout in 2024.
