Try the two flagpole myth again, but this time move Luigi's pole so that Mario can go under/over it to finish the level.

@@davidpacifico1019 There was a whole underground jungle level in the Wii version based around giant wigglers walking through poison, which is basically just lava. I think they might have considered it for Deluxe, but decided against it.
Mario got stuck on the 2nd pole because it was on the ground. Maybe try having BOTH flagpoles above ground? Maybe then it's plausible.

Myth for smm2: Link can't shield underwater in a goomba shoe and uses the "unused" ducking sprite instead.
I don't think its unused... But most likey an obscure sprite not used anywhere else in the game...
I think the unused sprite shows up for a frame or two after you shield a spike ball

Nice, all of my predictions were right except the star killing the koopalings. Knowledge of how these games tend to be programmed gives a really good intuition for it.
Yep same, and you could guess the star surely wouldn't affect koopalings, why would the programmer code an impossible event (actually sometimes impossible events are coded for some reason)
@@Dimitri_gdr The reason I thought the star would work is that that code should be handled by Mario's collision, not the enemies. Mario with a star should say "if I collide with an enemy, kill it". It shouldn't be an enemy saying "if Mario touches me and has a star, die". Mario's code should handle things controlled by the player, which includes having a star.
@@minuspi8372 yes true, that actually quite complicated I think you need to study the code to understand what exactly happened and how the game deals with collisions

I think bosses stand still because they haven’t been told by the game to do anything, they’re waiting for Mario to hit the cutscene trigger

Yeah, about the double flagpole myth… the level CAN be completely if two flagpoles are grabbed at once, but ONLY if they are both in the air. If they are both in the air, Mario will go under them.

I hacked the ds version of this game and broke the floor that Bowser Jr was standing under and he just died like an enemy when you hit the block it stands on. I tried it with Bowser too and it worked on him too. It had to be precise on both of them tho. Also when attempting this, Bowser Jr sometimes fell in the water or sand but it never killed him.

Correct. MM2 bosses work differently then they do in their base game. Any enemy and boss can be defeated by a Star in MM2.
