Thanks. This is excellent. I am going to have to watch it again about 4 times with a lot of pausing to fully appreciate it.
I appreciate it, William! Maximizing the use of database templates makes a huge difference in my opinion.
Taking advantage of button automation and database views are my favorite things to do with them.
i was struggling soooo much about a way to create the tasks automatically when we use a template, but the buttons NEVER came to mind, that is simply GENIUS
I'm glad it helped you!
Just found your channel, great content so far! I’m a fan and just subbed.
Thank you! I appreciate the subscription. Looking forward to continuing to hear your thoughts on my content.
Can you do a video on how you’d build a sponsor CRM? I loved your CRM video but I would need more or tracking sponsors/brands I may work with on my main channel and then track if they’ve been invoiced or not, if they paid or not, and have follow up reminders for post campaign reports
Question for sorting a note database? Is it possible for me to make a button to create a new note which I can instantly (upon creating it), select a relation to a page located elsewhere in my Notion, and have that note appear there, while also having every note made appear in a table.
If I'm understanding correctly, yes, that is possible. You'll want to follow these steps:
1) Create button
2) Add Page to your Notes Database
3) Edit a property and select the relation you would like created
By adding to your notes database, it will appear in a table there that you can filter down on if you wish.
Hope that helps!
Potentially stupid question: if I develop my templates as I go along or I suddenly have to add an additional property after some records/pages have already been added, or I decide on a brand new template to be introduce which I want to be applied to existing database pages, how can I force a different template to be used for an existing record/page? Database templates seem to only ever be relevant for NEW records it seems... am I wrong?
Not a stupid question at all. To apply new changes to database templates, you have to delete the page contents and then select the template you would like to apply.
Wish there was an easier way to do it in mass. Hopefully, Notion improves that.
