I love these guitars. I'm lucky enough to own a 1985 Ovation USA Collectors Edition, quite rare I believe. Lovely guitar to play, great neck with low action creating great sound. Prefect stage guitar when teamed with a Telecaster!
First time I ever played an Ovation was back in 1993 at my local music store and I was 16. I didn't know what to think at first. Didn't know what the heck the back was made out of. Didn't take it seriously at first, then I played it. Only two mins in and I HAD TO HAVE ONE. Couldn't afford it (our local music store has always been way over priced). Five years later it's 1998, I'm 21. Found a full back Celebrity Elite at a pond shop in Carbondale... FOR ONLY $175. and with original case. Played it for five mins and bought it. Three years later, it was stolen out of my truck on the way to a gig. Damn, I was so angry. Years went by and I got to the point where I didn't play anymore. Had allot of ups and downs in a overly busy life. Did a search online a month ago and found a mid-depth Celebrity Elite (brand new) for $600 on Reverb's site and bought it. Been playing every day ever since. Would love to get a full and shallow to add to my collection over this next year. Playing these things are so easy. Doesn't require much hand strength to bar at all. The sound is better than almost any dreadnaughts on the market in my opinion (with high end Gibson, Taylor and Martin being among the exceptions). I highly recommend Ovation guitars to anyone who can play.
I have an Ovation Celebrity CC-157 from 1992 and it is hands down the easiest playing acoustic guitar I have ever used. It has really developed a warm tone to it over the years and I have used Martin Marquis 10-47 Extra-Lights on it in recent years to keep tension pressure on the bridge to a minimum. Love my Ovation!
When I was a kid taking lessons back in the 90s, the shop sold Ovations and me and my dad always loved them, but he just couldn't afford one at the time. I'd love to get one now! My biggest issue was the rounded back would slide down of my leg, but with the cut out on the bottom that looks like it would help alot. Nice demo!
If you enjoy playing electric, and find difficulty playing acoustic - Ovation is a great choice. It's true, - the Neck plays like an electric. I have had a Custom Legend since 1995.
Once you decide that " sounding like a guitar", is no longer the issue.......this is your guitar. Love the necks. This particular pre amp and piezo pickup only seem to amplify the shortcomings of the instrument. I returned mine while the return window was open. No amount of e q. Could get the celebrity close enough to a decent acoustic guitar sound. The pinka plinka sound In the video is accurate. Of course, I could be wrong.
I did buy a new 84 Ovation Legend cutaway(deep). I did lear to play jazz with this guitar. This guitar handle the climate very well here in Norway. I use thick and stiff Dunlop Jazzpick for a strong sound and less picknoice. I use Henriksen Jazzamp only with treble horndriver. I like solid state amps on this guitar. It has a amaseing sound with these amps. A lot of headroom at higher levels. This old Ovation has no EQ onboard. I use the parametric EQ on the amp.
I actually own one of these guitars and this is the greatest sounding acoustic yet I’ve ever played I just bought a brand new fender Newporter about a month ago I like it too I like the way it sounds but I’m gonna tell you what I’ve had my ovation since 2007 it’s an older model but it really plays nice still have it keep it polish and take good care of it it still looks brand new today I play a lot of songs are not getting all mine and I love it dearly also have a nylon string acoustic also I enjoyed your show it shows me a lot about my guitar but mine isn’t one of the newer ones mines old but still plays great thanks for the video have a great day 🎸☮️👍😁😎
Absolutely. It was designed for stage use and it cuts thru a mix very well. I own 3 Ovations. 2 have the on-board electronics, and shallow bowl. The 12 string deep bowl is acoustic only.
Have a ce48p koa super shallow bowl even brilliant unplugged very loud and balanced comfortable guitar instead of big boxy body give them a try you might like them but not for acoustic purist

Finally someone not afraid to actually PLAY the guitar in a demo! You have to DIG in, so we can actually hear the sound.
I don’t have a guitar yet, but definitely going to get a Ovation.
LOVE that Ovation sound.
🙏
I just picked up one, and I love it!

I love ovation, want to buy one.

It sounds like a guitar.

Love Ovation! I have a shallow bowl Celebrity and a mid-depth bowl Celebrity Elite Koa top.
Thanks
Which do you prefer?
@@singingplanet The mid-depth Elite. The koa top is beautiful and the mid-depth bowl has great resonance.
Bout to get one of these bad bois
🙏 Thank you! 🎸
i have the super shallow in blue love it
I want to be part of the Ovation team in Brazil!
It will be an honor to have clips, DVDs... with me on my stage!
Ovation comes with me Brazil!
Great stage guitar
🙏
Great review
I once owned a Glen Campbell Ovation,
I’ve had one of those for 50 years.
Love !!!!!!!!!
Its a good guitar but if i want to oscillate but this guitar has no sound hole standard to put the phone so that i can do oscillating video?
Superb review of a beutiful guitar.
These things look so beautiful and then you see the back and...
I like it
@Alex Nicoletti yes, thats exactly what you do
Can you play a super shallow bowl unplugged?
Yes, and it's great for practising, as no one will be able to hear you apart from yourself.
Easily. Sounds great.
Can't seem to find one of these in stock anywhere.
How I can purchase this from India ? And what is the actual price?
What is the name of the piece you are playing?
The shallow bowl is much quieter than deep bowls. But it’s fine if it’s plugged in.
Hello, whats the different to the Ovation 2778AX-5 Elite ?
I love my 3 Ovations and dont want any other acoustic for 2 reasons. Playability and projection. They cut thru a group of instruments like butta!🤣🤣🎸🎸
Do these sound good when not using an amp?
Is the ovation and RCM guitar the same?
Hello, I am a professional guitarist. Would you recommend this guitar for an acoustic guitar that I will use in my stage performance?
Absolutely. It was designed for stage use and it cuts thru a mix very well. I own 3 Ovations. 2 have the on-board electronics, and shallow bowl. The 12 string deep bowl is acoustic only.

Can i play on this guitar as acustic without amp?
Yes
Easily.
should you use electric guitar on that?
ONLY USE IT OFF THAT NOT ON. PLEASE RESPECT THE INSTRUMENT.
Unplugged please
I'll take one in black, please.
😃
Le coût de cette guitare s'il vous plait ?

👍👍👌
I have this same exact guitar, you can see in this channel
These guitars take design inspiration from the eyes of spiders
But is a overseas Ovation made in China, there is not a USA guitar
I don't think many sub-$1000 guitars are made in America. Almost all are made in China, Korea, Singapore, Vietnam, etc.
"NOT AS PRONE TO FEEDBACK' ? REALLY ? WHAT THE FLUCK. LOVE WHERE THEY BUT THE CABLE JACK. L.O.L. W.T.F. ?
The shallow bowls sound horrendous acoustically. Better through an amp
