A Russian fan here, hello! So about the Lady Fantasy thing. Some of the publishing houses divide the books they publish into different categories, it's not like a special genre around here, it's more like their own creation, their personal touch, I would say. It often comes with specific designs or labels of something to identify it, so the next time the reader sees a book that says "Lady Fantasy" in this design, they'll know it's something similar to Throne of Glass.
Yeah I find it pretty sad that we don´t have the hardcovers anymore... At the moment I´m buying the US Hardcovers step by step cuz they´re soooo pretty and big! The German editions are so...They are just not worthy for those amazing books. And did you see what they did with the ACOTAR cover?!?!? That freak me out! So...ugly. Aber OMG EINE AUS DEUTSCHLAND DIE SARAH J MAAS GENAUSO LIEBT WIE ICH.

I'm so jealous of that German book cover!!! I bought a German copy to help improve my German while on my year abroad (in Germany), and the cover is just the same as the English copy I have at home, except a little darker and the title is slightly darker. But that one is so different and pretty!!!!

Basically, russian publishers put "lady fantasy" on the book because it's a part of the fantasy series that they publish. In other words, all the fantasy books for girls have the same inscription, since they belong to the specific genre. :)
The german cover (title) is called Throne of Glass: The Chosen. Sadly, they only did the first book as a hardcover, the following books are all paperbacks. But still very lovely! They look similar to the UK versions!

The Chinese edition is beautiful. as far as the hebrew one goes, I've worked in a bookstore for the past 6 months and unfortunately the cover does no justice with story - I'm "slightly" obsessed with the series so obviously I kind of pressured people to ignore the covers and get them anyways(the first two) - but it was ridiculously difficult, since it's not the standard style people like ...😅

You should see the brazilian editions of acotar, they are just stunning (brazilian fan) P.S.: you should make a video with advices for begginers in writting love ya 💛

in Germany the Cover doesnt just look like the one you had Sarah :) we also have the UK edition cover with the little different that the backgroundcolor is in another shape ;) but it's really similar
When I was reading ACOTAR the book gave the strange feeling of a shojo anime/manga. Now that Maas confirmed that she's an anime fan I understand now why LOL. I didn't like acotar, but I did really felt like I was reading a shojo manga. Still, I want to keep reading that series, though.
I think the dutch version is the prettiest, although after i had finished book 4, book 5 was not yet in out dutch so i grew impatient and i bought 5 and 6 in english.🙃

Welp, thank god the other countries didn’t mess up the covers. I’m from the Netherlands and the Dutch covers (and the translation) are absolute GARBAGE. It’s literally just a dark greenish background covered by rose petals that cover the cover more the further you get into the series😑
